Review:This is my favorite book of all time! The writing is superb, and the subject---Orthodox Jewish son caught between devout parents and the requirements of his chosen work--is enlightening and intriguing. Read more
Review:This is brilliant, I enjoyed every minute of it. Nobody's Fool used to be my favorite book, then came The Bridge Of Sighs, which I found somewhat sentimental and was disappointed. Somewhere in between came An Old Cape Magic, which, while enjoyable, seemed to reflect a shadow of previous talent and skill. But finally, finally, a giant of a book, impossible to put down. Looking forward to Trajectory. Read more
Review:I think this book is an excellent work! Jeanette Winterson weaves the fabric of modern relationship and she uses it to emphasize the value of true love. I love the way she tells the story! She employs a lot of figures of speech and the invisible feelings become something that the reader is able to obtain. Also, every question mark she puts would carry some philosophical meaning and would make me ponder for a while. This book is really full of content and also literary technique. Read more
Review:These books are great for the first time you read a Shakespeare play. Having modern English and the original side by side, you understand the story, and after that, can focus on Shakespeare's ability with language. Read more
Review:I skipped this book so many times, thinking I just wouldn't like it. I wished I'd read it a long time ago. It was different than most books I usually choose and I really enjoyed it. The dialogue is funny and touching and the romance has enough heated tension to bounce a quarter off of. Read more
Review:I really really loved the other books in this series but this one just didn't do it for me. SPOILER: maybe it was because of the way she acted with her weight, but i just really wanted to scream at her! Read more
Review:I struggled to finish this book. I blame it completely on the author’s vague and inconsistent references to the lead male character’s military service.
First, there are five military services (Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines & Coast Guard – yes, the Coast Guard is considered a military service) – not once (so far) has the author stated what service the male lead served in.
Second, she states in one passage that he has a “Semper Fi” tattoo (leading the reader to believe he serve... Read more
Review:Weekends Required is one of the best books I have ever read! It is captivating and I could not put the book down! Claire is my favorite character. She is simple and plain. I read this book in one day! I was so interested and just as soon as I finished this book, I bought Not Planning on You! Both books are great! They have a great story behind them and I would reccomend them to anyone! Read more
Review:Taylor is HEARTLESS to all the Armstrong children, not to mention her own daughter, Kennedy!! This book being written and published so soon and the horrible content about Russell is only going to HAUNT THESE KIDS for the rest of their lives. THIS BOOK IS A FORM OF EMOTIONAL ABUSE TO ALL TAYLOR'S VICTIMS! (children). And how is she helping DV victims?? She gives no guidance or steps to actually benefit battered women. And what if she abused Russell like many believe. Her UNSTABLE, AGGRESIVE BEH... Read more
Review:I love Julie James books! I stumbled onto "Just the Sexiest Man Alive" in 2008 or 2009, and it was an entertaining and fun novel; since then I have read every book she has published and have enjoyed them all. With that being said-"Love Irresisibily" is by far my favorite. I can't quite put my finger on what exactly made this book the perfect package...As pointed out in other reviews, the characters are likable, and relatable. The story is well written. The emotion felt realistic. I laughed out l... Read more
