A True Story of Murder and Justice - A Killer Among Us
A True Story of Murder and Justice - A Killer Among Us

Review:This true crime is heavily viewed through the victim's family. Although their anguish clearly inspired the investigation and prosecution, the real hero is law enforcement that doggedly persisted to the final resolution. If criminals facing justice gives you peace of mind, you'll sleep well after reading this book. Read more

In the Name of Love
In the Name of Love

Review:I have read everything Ann Rule has written. The first story was too long. It was told from the widow's viewpoint. I understand that she was also victimized, but it was just too tedious. The shoter stories were more readable. Read more

Hornet's Nest (Andy Brazil Book 1)
Hornet's Nest (Andy Brazil Book 1)

Review:I have been a huge fan of Patricia Cornwall. This book, however, seems to have been written by an entirely different person. Filled with annoying, unrelated, wandering detail, it's the worst kind of writing you'd expect to find in a sophmore english class. The characters are cartoonish, the plot simplistic and utterly incredible. It goes on and on in agonizing mediocrity, with no hint of redeeming prose, for 377 pages.

I've heard myths of publishers pasting the names of established author... Read more

Review:I don't know what specifically the problem is but there's something weird about the author's style. The characters seem shallow and the universe seems awfully small for a tale of such galactic proportions. Read more

The Flame Bearer (Saxon Tales Book 10)

Review:Cornwell is the standard for fantastic reasons. It has been fun being apart of Utred's journey. This is one of those turning points in his story that fans of this series are going to love. This tale is definitely worth the read and fans will love it. Read more

Love, Nina: Despatches from Family Life
Love, Nina: Despatches from Family Life

Review:REVIEWED BY LAURA

This is a quirky and charming little book, composed entirely of Nina Stibbe's letters to her sister Victoria after she moved to London to be a nanny. Nina's letters aren't really like any letters I've read before, and they're very unlike letters I would write. Nina is hilarious and she has a keen ear for dialogue. She observes the most unusual things and manages to make the most mundane tasks funny (see excerpt below regarding laundering pillows). Throughout the book, sh... Read more

What the Hell Did I Just Read (John Dies at the End)

Review:I recommend this series to everyone who likes their horror & comedy in equally shocking proportions. You know the book is great when you can't stop reading while simultaneously not wanting the story to end. These books gave me a glimpse into a world that I will return to as often as possible. Dave & John are the anti-heroes of a generation. To the author I say bravo sir, job well done. Read more

Feeling Hot (Out of Uniform Book 3)
Feeling Hot (Out of Uniform Book 3)

Review:I enjoy books about Navy SEALS just like any other reader - the quintessential warrior - but this book was all about pushing the sex limit for the writer. These books are supposed to fall under Romance - how is watching your girlfriend give someone else oral sex, or both doing your girlfriend, romantic? And don't even get me started on the man on man? Really? Ms. Kennedy should have left the SEAL mystique out of it and just used factory workers or office drones - the ones that dream about Fi... Read more

Stray Cat Became a Worldwide Hero - Simon Ships Out. How One Brave

Review:After losing my cat several months ago I found this book very enlightening. Sometimes as a pet owner I think we all sit and wonder what can possibly be going through there little minds when we talk to them, when the jump on us when they purr, sleep and play. They are smart, funny and extremely comforting. Well done. Brought tears to my eyes as I was nearing the last pages. Read more
