The Last of the Firedrakes (The Avalonia Chronicles Book 1)
The Last of the Firedrakes (The Avalonia Chronicles Book 1)

Review:This story was such a pleasant surprise. It captured my attention from the very beginning and left me wanting more of Aurora's story at the end.

Farah Oomerbhoy wove a brilliant story between our world and that of magical beings. She has such a way with words that the reader is able to submerse themselves completely into the world of Avalonia. Oomerbhoy builds and teaches the reader, as well as Aurora, the way of Avalonia and those that live within. The descriptions in which Oomerbhoy... Read more

The Faerie Guardian (Creepy Hollow Book 1)
The Faerie Guardian (Creepy Hollow Book 1)

Review:To give you some idea of how much I enjoyed this book, I bought the second one in the series when I was only one-third of the way into this one. Action, character development, plot - all great. Keeps moving along , makes you wonder what's happening next. Extra material is included at the end which fills in gaps, unknowns, in the main story. Many thanks to the author for that. Starting the next one in the series as soon as I put a period on this sentence. Read more

Cruel Beauty (Cruel Beauty Universe Book 1)
Cruel Beauty (Cruel Beauty Universe Book 1)

Review:It's no secret that I am a sucker for fairytale re-tellings and Beauty and the Beast is my favorite story to be retold. These retellings can get really deep and intense when done right. And CRUEL BEAUTY does not disappoint at all in this category. Seriously, it was so close to perfection that I have no idea how I can write this review. I'm 99% tempted to just keyboard smash and go OMGIGNIFEX over and over and over.

In the very beginning of this book, I had a little bit of trouble getting ... Read more

The Tombs of Atuan (The Earthsea Cycle Series Book 2)
The Tombs of Atuan (The Earthsea Cycle Series Book 2)

Review:For the first and second series of the Earthsea, you'll find in this book suddenly Sparrowhawk, the famous Earthsea wizard, is not the protagonist. The main character has pass down to his accompany, a prince, that aids the wizard's voyage in the sea. The islands of Earthsea is losing balance and magic powers from every continent. The Other Wind (The Earthsea Cycle Series Book 6)
The Other Wind (The Earthsea Cycle Series Book 6)

Review:Although I'm a big fan of the first three books of the Earthsea series, I think that this latest book (as was the case with Tehanu), was both overrated and underwhelming. It weighed in at just over 200 pages, which is somewhat anemic, and the book plods along at a slow pace ... and is unfortunately somewhat dreary and predictable.

IMHO, this series should have remained the trilogy that the author first envisioned it as ... books 4 and 5 are just anemic tack-on stories that lack the magest... Read more

Born Wicked: 1
Born Wicked: 1

Review:I received this book in a goodreads giveaway, it's been sitting on the shelf for the last month since I had a few books to read before it. I feel like it's been teasing me, because it's been on my TBR list since before it came out and I've been dying to read it. The Cover is beautiful to look at, and something I love about real books vs. my kindle. I think it's because I'm a sucker for a pretty cover and it leads to a lot of my book purchases and choices to read.

The focus's around the li... Read more
