Review:I enjoy reading smaller author books on my kindle, this one looked like it would be good, the synopsis intrigued me, and it had dragons so YAY! The idea behind the story was good, I like the concept of it, however that's about all I can say that was good about it. Alot of the dialog was forced/robotic and I just couldn't picture any person ever talking like that. But worse then that, there were SOOOOOO many spelling, grammar, typos in the book it just ruined the flow. I get to going and then... Read more
Review:I cannot get enough of morganville... I am always reading in my spare time and I put myself in morganville and feel the emotion and experience that are getting... love it... already started the next book. Read more
Review:The women in this book are either complaining, whining witches or simpletons (although good natured willing simpletons.) The Hispanics are mustachioed, tattooed. gang bangers. Welfare recipients are fat, dirty, toothless and lazy. Then you have the silly hippy dippy flower children who don't like guns. God help them. The only guy the main character can stomach is his acolyte Gary. I disliked the main character so much by the end of the book that I didn't care if he made it home or not. Read more
Review:Honestly when I started reading this series I had high hopes. It began well and was a quick read. The second book was less appealing than the first and the third book nearly made me break out in hives. By the fourth and final book I wanted a nuclear explosion to happen and just kill them all except the bear! Too many twists with plot over hidden plot. I nearly began to root for the Elders to kill off Nora, but being the main character that wasn't likely. So in the end, after all of the hype, she... Read more
Review:I have read numerous zombie books and the two so far in this series have been a couple of my favorites. The characters are very likable and engaging. The cause of this outbreak is very interesting and different than any I've heard before. Almost all of the characters you have come to like are still alive which is different from most zombie stories and is probably one reason I have liked these books so much. I'm looking forward to book 3. Read more
Review:I just downloaded and started this book today, so this review only covers the first few chapters. I am trying to get into the book, but the glaring mistakes in editing are really taking me out of the story. The very first sentence is a prime example:"The hammering on the door shot him into wakefulness like a handgun going off in his face." Really? A handgun? In a book set in 1453???? How does the protagonist know what a handgun is? Hello there, first of many anachronisms.
Later the author des... Read more
Review:Read on recommendation from a friend. Well written, full of action and believable characters. A bit too dark for my personal taste but if you are into dystopian type stories you'll likely love it. I wish there were a rating system for books that included a level of dark/horor/etc. Read more
Review:Great read! Awesome characters and interesting settings. Kind of like a mix between hunger games and divergent with a semi zombie twist. Doesn't matter the age range. If you like reading in general it's a good time passer Read more
Review:Very confusing in the beginning trying to keep all the players straight with so much back and forth between the characters. Once you settle in and become familiar with everyone "this is where it ends" becomes more and more of a page turner. Ms Nijkamp did an excellent job of making the reader feel we were right there sharing in all the emotions. I know this is suppose to be Young Adult Fiction, for ages 14 and up. I am well beyond that age and thoroughly enjoyed the story. I was given an ea... Read more
