Interesting Times: A Novel of Discworld
Interesting Times: A Novel of Discworld

Review:The Discworld grows on you. After reading a dozen or so of Pratchett's marvelous stories about Life, the Universe, and Everything (so to speak), you've gotten to understand Unseen University, and the Librarian, and why you can walk across the Ankh River, and the Patrician's point of view (Sergeant Colon's as well), and the necessity of Death, and why the Mended Drum never closes. More than that, events in the author's world tell you a great deal about our own. This time around, it's the importan... Read more

The Axe and the Throne (Bounds of Redemption Book 1)
The Axe and the Throne (Bounds of Redemption Book 1)

Review:At first, I was a bit put off by its many similarities to the Game of Thrones series. However, they are forgivable upon continuing to delve deeper into the book. The author has a real talent for writing interesting, yet very simple and effective prose. The story is fast paced and multi-faceted. Upon finishing, I can say I really enjoyed this book, would recommend it to any fan of fantasy, and am eagerly awaiting Book Two. Read more

Prince of Fools (The Red Queen's War Book 1)
Prince of Fools (The Red Queen's War Book 1)

Review:Much to be imagined (which isn't exactly my idea of good writing) with large swaths of time untidily swept into a sentence. The narrative is good, but I'm left with so many strings started late (namely the 'voices') started late and left empty in the end... There was some of this in his first three, but not so glaring.

I've enjoyed the series and DO NOT regret the purchase... But with a slate as wonderfully painted as the broken empire, why settle? Read more

Silver Road (The Shifting Tides Book 2)
Silver Road (The Shifting Tides Book 2)

Review:This is NOT good. The author starts out by telling a greatly interesting AND DIFFERENT story about a KING and his devastated people, lost and barely surviving (for 300 years) in a frozen lannd and their quest and struggle to find their way back home, through variance, strength and , yes, magic... then, the author suddenly goes back to the same thing as in his first book if this saga and lets you wondering whatever happened to this formidable king and people until the last few pages, where he let... The Heroes of Olympus Paperback Boxed Set
The Heroes of Olympus Paperback Boxed Set

Review:This is an amazing book series and I can't stop reading the other books that come out by Rick Riordan. When I got the set and looked through the books, I noticed that the Son of Neptune pages were upside down and backwards. When you opened to the front page, you saw the last page of the book upside down. When you looked at the back of the book, you saw the front page of the book upside down. I'm not complaining at all because that means that there were probably only a couple thousand made that w... Read more

The Trials of Apollo Book Two The Dark Prophecy
The Trials of Apollo Book Two The Dark Prophecy

Review:I can't wait for book 3. When I got into Percy Jackson, that's all she wrote. I have thoroughly enjoyed every single one of Riordan's books. This is more of the same. I started this on my recent vacation. Took me a bit to get into it but that was mostly because I couldn't remember book 1 that well. I finished it in 5 days of casual reading. I easily could have done it faster but you know this thing about paying attention to wife and child gets in the way.

Onto Magnus Chase book 2. I waite... Read more

Creatura (The Creatura Series Book 1)
Creatura (The Creatura Series Book 1)

Review:When I was given Prelude to review, I was given the opportunity to read and review Creatura. It was a book I definitely liked. I've had an interest in mythology since I was younger, and I thought that the author Nely Cab blended them well to create something new. I liked the concepts she used in creating the background story, while including some familiar elements. The pacing of the book was good, with questions being left unanswered until it was time to address them from a story-telling point o... Read more

Succubus Blues: 1 (Georgina Kincaid)
Succubus Blues: 1 (Georgina Kincaid)

Review:After the finale of Vampire Academy I went in search of a new series. I wasn't keen on reading more Richelle Mead, thinking I should seek out new authors and expand my horizons. Embarking on new series I have since found several authors I love from fantasy to crime, however I thought to myself "Why not try another of Mead's series?" I am so glad I did.

This book is about Georgina, a succubus, who although a demon, has a conscious. She wishes to be normal (don't we all!) but instead has to... Read more

Succubus Nights: Urban Fantasy: 2
Succubus Nights: Urban Fantasy: 2

Review:good writer, good premise. It isn't my preference, is all.

If you like Romance then this is the book for you.

If you prefer Vampire Academy by Ms Mead, this is not it. This runs more to the wall to wall sex.

I prefer Urban Fantasy that runs more to action and less bedroom. Read more

Succubus Dreams: Urban Fantasy (Georgina Kincaid)
Succubus Dreams: Urban Fantasy (Georgina Kincaid)

Review:My favorite so far in the series. once again I'm enthralled by Georgina's story. i feel like shes a real person. Mead does a great job with character development. i go along on the ride and feel all of Georgina's emotions. its a great read that offers incredibly funny dialogue and at the same time a lot of emotion.
