Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life - Color Edition
Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life - Color Edition

Review:All I kept on thinking while reading this graphic novel is I need to see the movie again, it's been to long. About everybody is familiar with Scott Pilgrim and the story line so I don't need to go into a major description. I really liked this graphic novel, how it's put together in a hardback book, great full color illustrations and a very entertaining dialogue. The Afterword was very informative to learn how Bryan Lee O'Malley started writing Scott Pilgrim and how it evolved. Read more

World War Hulk
World War Hulk

Review:Not a comic book reader, but I enjoyed this. As always, soap opera rules apply, so you're jumping into the middle of an extraordinarily convoluted storyline. Characters you may not know abound. References are made that are probably explained elsewhere. But it's a fun little story nonetheless. Read more

DC SUPER HEROES: MY FIRST BOOK OF GIRL POWER
DC SUPER HEROES: MY FIRST BOOK OF GIRL POWER

Review:I have purchased this book 4 times-- yes, 4. First for my daughter, and then for each of her girlfriends' birthday. Girls have superpowers and gifts too! And this little board book introduces female heroines, some of whom I had never heard of. It would have been nice for them to include Nubia or a female superheroine of color-- but, it is still wonderful. I also have My First Book of Super Powers too (from the same series)-- and I read them together, so my twins get to see male and females ... Read more

The Secret History of Wonder Woman
The Secret History of Wonder Woman

Review:I listened to the Fresh Air podcast about this book (titled after the book itself) and loved hearing about this largely unknown aspect of Wonder Woman. Shortly after I decided to find a full book because I wanted to learn even more. The writing style of this book was so horrible that I didn't make it more than 3% before giving up. Save your money and listen to the free podcast featuring the author rather than wasting money here. Sentences felt poorly constructed and awkward. I couldn't even foll... Read more

Spiritual Teachings from Our Dogs and Cats - Guardians of Being

Review:Touching and thought-provoking work by talented artists! "Guardians of Being" is delightfully humorous approach, and a new way of looking at, the very special relationship between humans and other species. I was (and remain) so impressed that I've purchased copies for everyone in my family.
"Guardians of Being" is a wonderful addition to any home library! Buy it. Read it. Enjoy !! Read more

Ringworld: The Graphic Novel, Part One
Ringworld: The Graphic Novel, Part One

Review:If you didn't realize this was a graphic novel, you didn't bother to read the description, and probably can't read at all. Even though the Puppeteers and Kzinti are a little cartoonish for my tastes, this is still a great retelling in an awesome media. Read more

The Last Hero
The Last Hero

Review:Over the past two years, I've managed to collect every volume of the Discworld Series and a number of books that Terry Pratchett has worked on.
Why?
Terry Pratchett has produced an array of books that have consistently floored me with their thoughtful insights, hilarious situations, and wonderful characters.
All that I have lacked has been a vision.
Thanks to Paul Kidby, I now have it. The illustrations for this story are wonderful. And the story is fantastic.
The book involves ... Read more

Batman: Arkham Asylum 25th Anniversary
Batman: Arkham Asylum 25th Anniversary

Review:I gave Grant Morrison another chance reading this graphic novel after looking for a good Joker story. And not much has changed since I read Batman RIP. Luckily, I checked it out of the library instead of buying it like I did with Batman RIP. The art was really cool. Like others have mentioned, Joker's dialogue was really hard to read at times (I get that it represents Joker's madness), but it made the story more challenging. I honestly don't remember much of the story as it never intrigued me e... Read more

Review:A fantastic read, I wasn't sure which batman book I would read first but I eventually came to the conclusion that The Long Halloween was the choice for me. A great murder mystery with the villains of Batman you've come to known well. Read more
