Review:This was a funny book that showed the crazy things that happen on oil rigs around the world. I like the fact that the author is honest about his feelings concerning the oil industry and shows how people work in dangerous conditions to get the product to the market. The writing style is easy to read and very entertaining, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it for someone who just wants a light book to pass the time. Read more
Review:I love this book. Nathan's passion and enthusiasm are palpable and contagious. Not only is this guide laugh-out-loud funny and easy to read but also directly applicable. I have been writing for years and years and have been querying for three. I almost gave up but was reenergized by this book and landed an agent. I'm thrilled and grateful to have come across such a gift. Thank you, Nathan, for your generosity of heart. Read more

Review:This book read quickly and was super interesting! I loved learning about the solution to the ages-old problem of figuring longitude while at sea. The technical detail of the problem was written in an easy-to-understand way, and the people in the history are so well-developed that I became emotionally involved with them--empathetic towards 1, frustrated by another, disliked yet another. From a teaching standpoint, this would be a great starting point for a junior high or high school project-ba... Read more

Review:This book combines social tension between races and individuals on so many levels, all culminating with one trial within the community. This book keeps you thinking while you read it, I thought of so many different ways it could have ended while reading it. Great book. Read more
Review:Great book! All the information your teachers did not, or could not, tell you. Much background on everyday items like the telephone. Did Alexander Graham Bell invent it or did he steal the idea and market it?
Great book for trivia buffs and know-it-alls. A great resource for repeatable information. You will quote this book! It offers answers to questions you never thought to ask. This book could become your mental addiction. Read more
Review:I wanted something gristly and meaty that would ideally focus on cutting edge physical research/developments and how they would directly impact the world. The kind of stuff you get exposed to on a daily basis if you read reddit and other aggregators. I hoped this would be supplemental and informative; having just trudged through the first section, that on computer developments, I am thoroughly underwhelmed. The dude is mealy mouthed and talks about the most broad vague trends in jaundiced termin... Read more
Review:I normally love these books. This one, however, did not have enough straightforward questions that can be asked of anybody. Some of them are best left to asking oneself and not another person unless you know them very well. There are some really deep and/or convoluted questions. Many of the questions I have to skip because they are not really conducive to having fun with getting to know somebody. Read more
