Review:I agree with all the author was saying about retirement. It's a time to reinvent yourself and pursue hobbies, or even new careers. The author proves that one does not need $500,00 in an IRA to retire. Ernie's book shows the way to enjoyment of life!!! Read more
Review:As a writer of non-fiction myself, I have recently rediscovered Bradbury. I read his science fiction before I ever started writing (forty-some years ago!)and I am delighted to be led to him again by my Fiction Writing teacher, Marshall Cook, who recommended this book. It is not only informative but also a great inspiration and aid to beginning writers as well as experienced ones. Reading this book sent me back to Amazon for MORE BRADURY!

Review:I purchased this for my husband as his old book of maps was greatly outdated. He loved it and the larger scale was perfect for our aging eyes. It was a little larger than expected, but he didn't seem to mind. Overall, a great book of maps. If hubby is happy, then wife is happy! Read more
Review:This is a great guide to just about anything you would want to know about living off the land. Not something you would want to read cover to cover, but very interesting to look up a topic and learn about it. Read more
Review:I really like Creek Stewart with his survival hacks and lessons. I have been a long-time fan even before he got his own TV show.
However, this book disappointed. The illustrations (they were not photos, by the way) were not always clear to decipher, and not every tip had a photo or drawing. Many of the tips were also a bit difficult to follow.
I didn't bother reading most of the book and ended up returning it instead. Sorry, Creek.

Review:This is a good starter book for a beginning prepper keeping in mind that everyone's situation is different is several ways. You can still get some good ideas on how to start your long term pantry, tool box, etc. taking into consideration how many people are in your plan, where you live, climate, water sources and so on.
Preparing for long term survival in the event of a catastrophe takes research, work, budgeting, perseverance, and more research. Start here and do not be discouraged by the si... Read more
Review:this is a good book on the subject of disaster preparedness but I would also read Arthur Bradleys book on disaster preparedness (neither book is about wilderness survival) they are more geared to hunkering down in a home situation and the needs you will have and how to fill those needs without all the modern conveniences we enjoy today. Review:Luther starts from being a novice cabin-dweller on a northern lake to experienced resident. Separate sections consider tropical afflictions. This is not a DIY for buying every possible water storage device. It should be the text you keep beside you as you evaluate the offerings out there.
I suppose it was necessary to start with descriptions of all the water borne diseases that make us sick. This jeremiad EMPHASIZES finding clean water before you feel dehydration on the third day. And there a... Read more
Review:Good map, but frustratingly printed on both sides. I spent an annoying amount of time flipping the entirely unfolded map back and forth inside a tiny van to try to plot courses on the fly. The price you pay to fit the entire country on one paper in detail, but I would have very much preferred one side to be the complete country in less detail, with the opposite being more highly detailed blow-ups of areas of interest. Or a larger map to fit all on one side. Or even multiple maps, but to have bee... Read more
Review:SOME VERY SMALL SPOILERS BELOW -
The book - Set in the world of the First Law Trilogy and Best Served Cold. Familiar faces return but have relatively small parts. The return cast includes: Calder, Scale, Black Dow, Shivers, Gorst, Bayaz, and a few others. Gorst it turns out, is one hell of a character. Trying to redeem himself after an incident in Styria involving the King, his blood-lust rivals that of some of my old favorite characters.
