Review:If small talk is daunting for you, then this book will equip you to win! I loved the practical scenarios that I feel prepared for. I learned how to start a conversation, ease into one, keep it going and get out! The lists make it super easy to skim, but you won't want to miss the awesome content. It was a super easy read that enriched my small talk toolbox. The bonus is that you will get better at both speaking and listening from reading this. Check it out! Read more
Review:Probably the best writing teacher I have some across. William Zinsser's wisdom is simple, straight forward and he has been my guiding light for years. I have read his books and wanted to own the tape to listen to on my walkman while I walked the dogs. The tape is in practically new condition and I am so happy to have it to hear his voice. I am only sorry I never met him and was deeply saddened to learn of his death recently. Read more
Review:This book represents some of the greatest speeches ever made, period. This is a must-have for social justice activists, social studies teachers, and anyone else looking to be reminded of days past and inspired to better the future. Read more
Review:A well written and onverwhelmingly sad book! The first chapter about pro-wrestling was hilarious and I enjoyed it very much. The rest of the is probably just as true, although it was rehashing some ideas I've heard before Hedges dark vision of our country hit me hard. Twice I felt so sick to my stomach that I threw the book across the room. The biggest kicker was the final chapter were Hedges, instead of grasping at solutions, says there is no hope except maybe for love. LOVE!?!?! God dammit! Read more

Review:I purchased this for one of my college classes and have been enjoying the book so far. The one thing I do not like about it is the cover. Textbooks with paper covers do not last the entire semester if you are actually doing your reading and homework. Read more
Review:Really powerful bunch of ideas for making speeches stand out! Really easy to understand and clearly written, just the right amount of information with the option to dig deeper into the specific talks if one is interested. I will have my first seminar ever next week and I am super stoked I read this before, will definately implement more than a few of the tips. Read more
Review:Recently I bought this book and immediately made some textual changes to my company website based upon the contents of this and "Hot Button Marketing" by Barry Feig. The two mixed together have already begun to pay dividends in terms of conversions of visitors into prospects which will lead to customers and/or partners.
The lessons I learned as I read some of the material:
1) You may believe you're using the right words to sell (as I did prior to reading over the book), but there a... Read more
Review:What an incredible book! Michelle Dresbold's book always kept me wanting more. As I reached the end of the book I couldn't help but want to know more about what you can tell from crossing T's and dotting I's. And speaking of I's, they can tell a lot more about you than you would think; they explain your relationship with your parents, your confidence level and more. How? Well, you may just have to order this book to find out! Dresbold uses humor, personal stories about her involvement with the F... Read more
