United as One (Lorien Legacies)
United as One (Lorien Legacies)

Review:Great series overall. I enjoyed reading all of them. This last chapter (book) wrapped things up nice and neatly. My only gripe is the books were too short. I blazed through United As One in a couple of hours. It would have been nice if there was more sustenance in each of the novels. It's not like there was a lack of things to write about and elaborate more thoroughly. One of these books is equal to about two chapters of Atlas Shrugged, which I just finished reading while waiting for this last b... Read more

In the Blood: A Novel
In the Blood: A Novel

Review:I'm one of those people who reads books generally from the same group of authors...Sanford, Patterson, Lisa Gardner, Stuart Woods. They're safe bets for a good read and if your reading time is limited you tend to stick with what you know. Thanks to Pixel Of Ink I've been introduced to some really great new (to me) authors, Lisa Unger being my latest pleasant surprise addition. This is an easy read with such imaginative characters and story lines. If you love a good psychological mystery you're i... Read more

Everless
Everless

Review:I read so much romance that it is nice to get a little bit of fantasy in every now and then! I have heard such great things about Everless so I decided that it was going to be my next fantasy read. I absolutely loved it!

The Story. When I first read the synopsis for this book, I kept thinking about the movie In Time with Justin Timberlake because the concept of time as currency and power was such an intriguing one. The story opens with Jules hunting in order to trade for bl... Read more

The Crucible: (Penguin Orange Collection)
The Crucible: (Penguin Orange Collection)

Review:This is certainly an interesting story and a poignant look at the way mass hysteria can shape a culture. Though it was written during the Communist witch hunt in America and written about Puritan times, it certainly can be applied to modern times. It’s interesting to read through this and see that though the times may change, humans are rather unchangeable. Read more

A Mad Zombie Party (The White Rabbit Chronicles)
A Mad Zombie Party (The White Rabbit Chronicles)

Review:I was expecting this book to be put in Frosty (Aka. Aston) and Milla's point of view. At first I wasn't sure about it because of how much I like Ali and Cole but as you can see I gave it a five star. This book turned out to be very good. It was a cool thought making it have different characters POV. I like the Notes from all of them, they make this story tie up and end the series which is sad but it makes everyone have a happy ending. Read more

The Queen of Zombie Hearts (The White Rabbit Chronicles)
The Queen of Zombie Hearts (The White Rabbit Chronicles)

Review:If you thought the stakes were high in Alice Through the Zombie Glass that's nothing compared to what Ali and the slayers are facing in this instalment. Zombies may be evil but they're mindless creatures that act on instinct and it turns out that humans are far more dangerous. Anima doesn't want to see the slayers wipe out the zombies, not when they've worked so hard to find a way to control them, so they will do whatever it takes to wipe out Ali and her friends.

Right from the beginning ... Read more

The Bondage Breaker® Youth Edition
The Bondage Breaker® Youth Edition

Review:Every Sunday I looked forward to going to church with my mother. I'd wear nifty clothes and matched them up with my favorite accessories: shoes and handbags. I'd look and feel good, ready to devote an hour and a half to God. Then -- bam! -- something happened, something very small and meaningless, almost imperceptive, that put me in a foul mood. I became cranky to the point that I was inexplicably angry, all kinds of dark thoughts entering my head. Which begged the question: why. Why was I... Read more

The Jewel (Jewel Series Book 1)
The Jewel (Jewel Series Book 1)

Review:Review courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales

Quick & Dirty: I really enjoyed this novel, all but one aspect: the romance. It was insta-love and traveled way to fast.

Opening Sentence: Today is my last day as Violet Lasting.

The Review:

A circular, lone city lies behind a great wall that keeps out the ocean that threatens to engulf it. In this city the people are separated into groups, with the Jewel at the center filled with the royalty, and the Marsh at the edge of the w... Read more

The Queen: A The Selection Novella
The Queen: A The Selection Novella

Review:I recommend this to anyone who enjoyed "The Selection" series. This romance was very well written but a bit disappointing. I expected a longer book and it lasted me hardly two hours. It still fails to explain how the couple got where they did but does give the reader a better understanding of both Queen Amberly and the King. Read more
