Review:*Spoiler Free*

This book is sorta science fiction meets dystopia. Now I love dystopian novels but I wasn't too sure about the science fiction aspect. After reading this book I'm sure... sure that I like science fiction! Because this book was great.

The storyline was fantastic and I felt a lot of sympathy for Amy. She gave up her whole life to be frozen, with the promise of waking up on a new planet. Except she's woken up too early. She is unable to be re-frozen so will most likely ... Read more

Out of the Easy
Out of the Easy

Review:Normally I shy away from these books because historical books are not really my thing. However my blogging friend, Bekka pretty much forced this book on me. I trust her opinion, so I decided to give this book a try. This book really surprised me in a lot of ways. I ended up really liking it more than I expected to.

I loved Josie as a main character. She knew what she wanted as well as what she didn't want. She didn't allow herself to fall into the same habits her mother had adopted. Unlik... Read more

Frostblood: The Frostblood Saga Book One
Frostblood: The Frostblood Saga Book One

Review:Disclosure: I won an arc through a giveaway.

4 1/2 stars.

I’ve read a few great novels so far this year and among them is Frostblood, the first book in a brand new Young Adult series. I first saw this book in the NOVL newsletter as a giveaway and thought it sounded interesting. Lo and behold, I was one of the lucky subscribers that received this book for review. I suspected Frostblood was going to be good, at least better than most of the YA I’ve read in the past but I didn’t expec... Read more

Among the Hidden (Shadow Children Book 1)
Among the Hidden (Shadow Children Book 1)

Review:Anyone who has spent time around middle grade books, whether library or book fairs, has probably seen Haddix books. Margaret Peterson Haddix is a prolific author of MG fiction. Among the Hidden is the first book of hers I have read. I selected it particularly because of its premise: due to severe overpopulation, the government has passed laws that allow couples to have only two children. Disobedience is punished by death. Luke is a third child, a shadow child. He can't go outside, have friends, ... Read more

Red: The True Reign Series, Book 2
Red: The True Reign Series, Book 2

Review:Its OK.... I guess once I've read Red Queen (Victoria Ayard) and Thorn of Roses series (WHICH WERE AWESOME) the writing in this book was obvious & made no sense in some chapters (Don't want to spoil it for those who haven't) read it. Red was a little better than Key although the ending made no possible sense. I hope War is better & explains how Red ended because I'm left confused here where I'm normally anxiously grabbing the next book (to a series) opposed to now, I haven't even started... Read more

The Crown of Ptolemy (Heroes of Olympus, The)

Review:The story jumped right into action. It was a short story but good, I would like to see them team up again in a longer story line Maybe the way Rick wrote the Kane stories jumping from character to character. Read more

The Prince Returns (Keeper of Dragons - Book 1) - Keeper of Dragons
The Prince Returns (Keeper of Dragons - Book 1) - Keeper of Dragons

Review:The book has been formatted professionally- which made the reading experience much more enjoyable. The characters were well developed and realistic- their structure was complex and emotions were well delivered. The book definitely had that force, pushing the reader to read on. The climaxes were intense and plot unpredictable. The concept was unique and the world building was heavy. It gave me the feeling I was actually there. In short; I enjoyed the story and would recommend it to other readers. Read more

100 Fun Stories for 4-8 Year Olds (Perfect for Bedtime & Young Readers) (Yellow Series)

Review:Although my daughter is 9 years old, there were stories in this collection that she absolutely loved, so it is appropriate even for tweeners. The stories are easy to read and are short enough so that they are great for bedtime, either as their bedtime reading, or when I want to read something quick to them. We just finished reading Funny Things I Heard At The Bus Stop and my daughter was looking for more ... Read more

Brian's Winter (Brian's Saga Book 3)
Brian's Winter (Brian's Saga Book 3)

Review:In Gary Paulsen's novel "Hatchet" Brian Robeson is stranded in the wild and rescued after 54 amazing days.
But what if he hadn't been rescued? What if his luck hadn't held. What if he had t face his deadliest enemy - WINTER? In "Brian's Winter" those aspects of Brian's adventure are explored. He suffers from lack of clothing, hunger (once more), numerous animal encounters (not all pleasant), a battle with a wild animal and much more.
This is a very interesting and exciting book. ... Read more
