A Personal Account of the Discovery of the Structure of DNA
A Personal Account of the Discovery of the Structure of DNA

Review:Because of all the hype surrounding this book I hesitated a long while before finally deciding to read it. Well, I can now say that I was pleasantly surprised. It is a remarkable book that must be appreciated on its own merits, despite the grave prejudices it may have caused to some individuals. Many people were deeply offended when they read how they, or others, had been portrayed by Watson. In fact very few were willing to endorse his personal views. Including his closest collaborators. It has... Read more

The Double Helix
The Double Helix

Review:Ok first off the actual book is in outstanding condition, no bends or tears or anything (i'm very picky about that) so that's why i'm giving the product 5/5. the content of this book is probably the most dry, boring, and frankly useless thing I've ever laid eyes on. I have to read this for a class and it's a STRUGGLE. If you enjoy science to an unnatural degree and you love reading three chapters of a man complaining about the people he works with for no reason then this is the book for you. the... Read more

Flood Your Body with Oxygen
Flood Your Body with Oxygen

Review:A great sequel to his first book, giving updated information on research and oxygen products. Explains why reactive oxygen is the cornerstone of health. Oxygen, peroxide and ozone are not patentable, so you won't see any comercials on TV to ask your doctor. Perhaps most revealing is the fact that ozone insuffilations are as effective as intravenous ozone at prurifying the body. With all the craze over trans-dermal applications, I am surprised that he omitted Dr. Kahn's peroxide solution: 1 oz fo... Read more

Hydrogen Peroxide: Medical Miracle
Hydrogen Peroxide: Medical Miracle

Review:There is probably not too much wrong with this book, Hydrogen Peroxide: Medical Miracle, but it is at least 10 years old so much of the material is outdated, and in some instances regarding oral consumption of Hydrogen Peroxide it is contrary to the present direction that the industry is taking. A recent book I read states that only Food Grade H2O2 should be used whereas this book gives advice that 3% can be used orally. If you have a more recent publication, I would like to be advised. Clinical Pathophysiology Made Ridiculously Simple
Clinical Pathophysiology Made Ridiculously Simple

Review:I don't have the credentials for an authoritative review, but M.D.'s and med students love this book and so do I as a pathophysiology book. It explains in real easy to read terms what my textbook by Barbara Gould definitely cannot do. Read more

Gray's Anatomy: Slip-case Edition
Gray's Anatomy: Slip-case Edition

Review:I'm disappointed and will likely be returning this edition of the classic and groundbreaking Gray's Anatomy.

Quite simply, the book is too small and the typeface is approaching microfilm size font.

I hate to complain but this is not the first time I have had this type of disappointment with a book from Amazon. It's like the books are printed to order on a poor quality printer. Gone are the days when a book could be a sensual experience with that new pages smell, the thick paper, th... Read more

How a New Understanding of the Brain Will Lead to the Creation of Truly Intelligent Machines
How a New Understanding of the Brain Will Lead to the Creation of Truly Intelligent Machines

Review:I am not convinced that Hawkins has "the right answer" to how intelligence works or "the best strategy" to developing intelligent machines; I simply don't think we know either of those things yet. But he lays out his ideas in clear, readable prose and leaves a moderately informed, intelligent reader clear on what he is asserting, why he is saying it, and what the implications will be if he's right. Given the complexity of the field that is an achievement in and of itself. And he may turn out to ... Read more

The Surprising Connections Between Disease and Longevity (P.S.)
The Surprising Connections Between Disease and Longevity (P.S.)

Review:This book was amazing! It defines the role of genes as being dynamic, not static. When building the human genome, people had the idea that there is a fixed template called DNA. Initially, it seems to me, science likes to simplify everything, believing mutations are rare and random. This book clarifies the role of our genes' ability to adapt to different environments and how some genetic variations that seem to be curses are actually the mechanisms humans use to be able to survive in certain ... How to Beat Diabetes Fast (and Stay Off Medication)
How to Beat Diabetes Fast (and Stay Off Medication)

Review:I received this book very quickly(within 3 days), even during the holiday season. I was so anxious to receive this book. I had seen him on the Dr.Oz show and started following his advice about 500 calories a day 2 days out of the week and that alone has helped my A1c fall from 8 to 5.5 in the past 9 months. So now looking forward to trying more of his suggestions.. Read more
