and Killing Ourselves to Live Longer - An Epidemic of Wellness
and Killing Ourselves to Live Longer - An Epidemic of Wellness

Review:Having read several of Barbara Ehrenreich's previous works, and intrigued by the subject, I was delighted to be able to review this book. I was not disappointed.

Having been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer at Christmas 6 and a half years ago and being told I would most likely not live to see summer, I once faced the prospect of death head on, and Ms. Ehrenreich's book, especially the first sections, echoed many of the thoughts I had at the time. Why are we spending so much of our precious t... Read more

Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are?
Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are?

Review:Very interesting and very clear. My only criticism is that the author tends to go into the stupidities of the "other side," who see animals as unfeeling and as life-like automata, at more length than they merit. Read more

Mindfulness Exercises for Kids (and Their Parents)
Mindfulness Exercises for Kids (and Their Parents)

Review:I love this book. It is a wonderful introduction to meditation for kids and parents alike. It is a "teacher's edition" book for the parent, explaining all the exercises on the c.d. I recommend reading through it first and getting all theory. Really great find! Read more

Everything I Need To Know I Learned From a Little Golden Book (Little Golden Books (Random House))
Everything I Need To Know I Learned From a Little Golden Book (Little Golden Books (Random House))

Review:I thought it might elaborate on some quotes, but it doesn't. It's the same size/ shape as all Little Golden Books, and takes the same amount of time to read. I gave it to my mom on Mother's Day & she seemed to genuinely like it. It's more nostalgic & decorative than insightful, but it's a fun 3 minute read for those of us who grew up with LGB. I was so happy that both Scruffy and the Saggy Baggy Elephant were included, as they were among my favorites.
It would be a piece of junk to an... Read more

The Psychology of Human Relationships - Games People Play

I highly recommend it for everyone. Read more

The State of Affairs: Rethinking Infidelity
The State of Affairs: Rethinking Infidelity

Review:I picked up this book after listening to the podcast. This is so much better! Insightful, and never condescending, this book really is great even if neither you nor your partner has contemplated infidelity (as far as you know, anyway!). Would recommend to anyone married. Read more

The Thinking Man's Guide to Pleasuring a Woman (Kerner)
The Thinking Man's Guide to Pleasuring a Woman (Kerner)

Review:Really really fun and very educational. I am no youngster and this book was super. The man and woman should each read separately and then discuss and try out what you learned.
Have fun, we did. The personal reflections and stories of the author added a great background as you felt he really knew his subject. Read more

Mating in Captivity: Unlocking Erotic Intelligence
Mating in Captivity: Unlocking Erotic Intelligence

Review:This book is easy to read, not boring.
Some points of view are questionable and don't really help in one individual life
it doesn't have any new ideas that you can catch and use when you have a difficult situation.
Ideas from the other books help more. I think that book "Passionate marriage" by David Schnarch, or "Passionista" by Ian Kerner are more helpful and useful.
This is just another book with some life examples from consulting practice Read more
