a Pioneering Oncologist Reveals Why the War on Cancer Is Winnable--and How We Can Get There
a Pioneering Oncologist Reveals Why the War on Cancer Is Winnable--and How We Can Get There

Review:A serious and in-depth review, from a primary contributor, about the difficult quest searching for cancer cures while the mighty federal government hinders almost everything science comes up with. Spreading the word about this book may cause the bureaucrats to loosen up a little. When, as is often the case, death is looking somebody in the face in the short future it makes little sense to prohibit well-founded experimentation, freely chosen, as an alternative to just marking off days on a calenda... An Experiment in Relishing What's Right in Front of Me
An Experiment in Relishing What's Right in Front of Me

Review:Reading this book is sometimes like looking at my life from the outside! Alexandra talks about her life experiences in a way that every mom can relate. Her diary-style of writing makes you feel like you are truly getting a inside glimpse into her true everyday life.

I loved getting to see her victories and setbacks along the way of her 9 month experiment. There were so many times that I would read a sentence and think, "Yes! That is so true!"

I can't wait for others in my group to ... Read more

FREEDOM: The End of the Human Condition
FREEDOM: The End of the Human Condition

Review:I haven't read this book, only its description. But I feel compelled to weigh in with some comments based on that.
First, I take exception to the statement that animals aren't conscious. What an anthropocentric, ignorant load of bull! Of COURSE they are concsious. Any observant person with a brain can see that. In fact, some of them seem a lot more conscious than a lot of humans!.
Secondly, his views on human instinct have no basis in reality.
And finally, the main hypothesis sounds lik... Read more

Bright Children Who Talk Late - The Einstein Syndrome
Bright Children Who Talk Late - The Einstein Syndrome

Review:I found the subject of late talking children very interesting and intriging. I have a 21 month old grandson who has not begun to talk at all....not even Mama, DaDa, Bye Bye. He constantly babbles. He has been checked for hearing as well as an overall analysis of his motor skills, social interests, etc., and has come out with an above average rate. We are just interested in how he progresses over the next year or so to see if he has above intelligence. He enjoys working on puzzles that are f... Read more

The Naked Truth About Sex, Lies, and True Romance
The Naked Truth About Sex, Lies, and True Romance

Review:I bought this book after seeing Jenny on Oprah. I have always liked Jenny's humor and this book won't let you down. She is very honest in the trials and tribulations she's had in her life and how she's worked her way through some very akward situations. I did laugh out loud at a few parts and finished the book in two days. Jenny has always been open about her life and this book goes back and tells about her growing up as well. If you are looking for a serious, in depth look at it, this isn't... Read more
