Review:My kids watch GMM all the time, so this was on both their lists for Christmas. I gave it to the 15 year old instead of the 9 year old after reading some of the reviews and content. So glad I did. Even the 15 year old suggested it was probably a bit mature for the younger one. Read more
Review:Interesting to me as I grew up in the fifties in the fifties. I knew some of the people mentioned in the book and it was eye opening to me.
There was not all that much about Buffalino as a person. It seems to me to be more about facts gleaned from news or reports than a personal story of he Quiet Don. Read more
Review:I learned a lot about life in Mexico, family values and immigration from this book. The writing is faily simple and straight forward. I met the author in person two days ago. The book really came alive when I witnessed what she has become as a result of the sometimes brutal life she led as a child and how family values triumph in the end. Read more
Review:Tesla led a difficult life to make ours less difficult. Tesla brought us alternating current, neon lights, hydroelectric energy, radar, remote control, wireless communication and the modern electric motor. Another great hourly history. Read more
Review:It is a very well researched book. The language Carlson used is very easy to understand. He had used many Tesla's letters as the backbone of his chapters. The technical issues may be difficult for most to understand. But, what can one expect? Tesla was an inventor.

Review:This book is full of knowledge and little emotion. I'd hope to gain more insight to the people's plight, but all I recall are dates and politics. Perhaps I'm too far removed and unaware of Africa's troubled past and turbulent future to appreciate this novel. Read more
Review:This is the Grateful Dead Bill Kreutzmann's long awaited book and it doesn't disappoint. Kreutzmann is a founding member of the Grateful Dead and was a friend of Jerry Garcia from the time he was twelve years old. Few people have known Jerry Garcia better than Bill Kreutzmann. This book is more than a history of the Grateful Dead. It is an expression of the whole Grateful Dead concept. You learn about the relationship of band members to each other and to others. You learn about the three (at lea... Read more
