Review:My significant other is a fan of these books and wanted this coloring book very much. He loves art, so I bought for his birthday. The pictures are high quality and there are plenty of them. He uses it frequently. I'm pleased with the number of pages, detail of the artwork, and accompanying quotes from the books... but I still found the price to be a bit unreasonable as it IS just a coloring book. I realize GOT is very popular, but I didn't feel like I got an awesome price on this item.
Review:Back when I was beginning a career in motion picture development, a 7 page memo from someone in the story department at Disney started making the rounds, explaining how the elements of Joseph Campbell's The Hero's Journey could be used in writing scripts. The author of the memo was Chris Vogler and here he's fleshed out the points into a powerful book that ties the power of mythology into interesting and easy-to-understand ways to use that power in telling our stories, using examples from curre... Review:Only recently introduced to the discworld series of novels I am loving each and every one of them. I came from "hitchhikers guide to the galaxy" and if you like that series you'll enjoy this series too. Read more
Review:If you are starting with Pratchett, you should not start with this one, as the references to previous novels will be difficult to understand. It has its fair share of wisdom and phrases you will wish you had come up with yourself. Read more
Review:In my research to discover which books are considered the best of the best, using the star rating system reviews written by the wonderful readers of the world on Amazon, I came across this book "The Switch", by Lynsay Sands. This book appealed to my tastes and after many months of attempting to track it down, in person (because the hunt is the fun part!), I finely found my quarry in a used book store. Wow, was it a shock to finely find it! It was very hard to find because it's one of those belov... Read more
Review:I have a fond spot for this book. It can be dry in spots and I'm always left wishing that he said more about his own works (although I also respect him for not taking the opportunity to tout his own works). One of the only things I disagree with is the inclusion of 'The House Next Door'. Don't get me wrong, it's a decent story but I wouldn't put it up there with the others mentioned by any means.
This edition comes with a new foreword about more recent movies but I really can't help wishing ... Read more
Review:Overall good collection of stories and exploits posted on the internet by of the Lawdog, a Sheriff's Deputy in a rural Texas town. Very funny and a good look at all the stuff law enforcement puts up with. My favorites were anything about Big Mama and her family and the Pogonip. Interesting that he says women make excellent peace officers, as long as an officer with draggy knuckles is close by. But what if the draggy knuckles officer needs similar backup? Read more
Review:As it seems w everyone else, I too came across this book after reading "Memoirs of a geisha". While the book was interesting w technicalities and structure of the "geiko" culture, Mineko did not capture me. I will never understand how readers connect more to a fictional character than a real person. I'm still waiting to receive mineko's other book, I'm hoping it will be better than this one. If you fell in love w chiyo completely, at least attempt to find this book at your local library. This is... Read more

Review:Both my mother and I laughed several times reading this. This has an amusing premise and the descriptions of small town Texas is very accurate.
This is a fun read although if one is quite devout or devoid of humor I would avoid it. I'm anxiously awaiting book 5. Read more
