Review:I had begun reading the series with the book "The Girl With No Name". I wanted to know what happened with her.
This book expands upon the life of Charlotte effectively, but I had a difficult time getting involved with the story. It was slightly more explicit sexually and introduced a lesbian relationship. The end of the story was somewhat unfinished. Though Charlotte has a new love they cannot be openly together and the st o y line is unresolved meaning I must buy the next book to see ho... Read more
Review:"The Velvet Room" paints a realistic portrait of migrant workers during the Depression, with some elements of suspense thrown in. The story is told through the eyes of Robin, a young teenager whose displaced, impoverished family has been travelling from place to place, doing whatever seasonal work they can get just to survive. As the story begins, Robin's father, who by now is in fragile health, has taken a job on the estate of the wealthy McCurdys. The job might be permanent if her father's ... Read more
Review:I thought this work (2nd in the Barchester Chronicles) would not live up to The Warden, but it is every bit as good with a little more expansiveness and majesty. Review:It was an excellent book. However, I think waiting until the last chapter for Soaring Eagle and Red Bird to become engaged was a disappointment. I would have like 1-2 chapters more about them. Their wedding. The list of their children was nice. Read more

Review:I have read this book 3 times! An enchanting story about a sweet girl named Emily, who has quite the imagination and is a very gifted writer. Each time I read the series, I love going on adventures with Emily and living life through her eyes. By far my favorite series by L.M. Montgomery! Read more
Review:These books by Brackston are somewhat interesting but there's too much "talk" and not enough action. She's too wordy for the most part - you get the impression she's trying to build up her work by talking and talking and talking. Read more

Review:Book description: "Emmalyne Knox and Tavin MacLachlan were destined to be together...until the tragic deaths of Emmalyne's youngest sisters. Family tradition mandates that the youngest daughter should remain single to care for her parents in their old age, and now that daughter is Emmalyne. Her father unyielding, Emmalyne surrenders to her duty, heartbroken. Tavin leaves town, equally devastated.
Years later, Emmalyne's family moves, and she and Tavin meet again. Their feelings for each ... Read more
Review:I really enjoyed this book. The characters were really likeable and it was well written - an easy reading book that can be picked up and put down when necessary (for those with small children!). India has now crept up by list of places to visit! Read more
