Review:Based on Stephanie Laurens' descriptions of Sebastian and his feelings for Helena, there is NO way he would have cheated. It made the whole story very unbelievable and, frankly, not anything I cared to finish. I stopped about 3/4 of the way through before I just couldn't do it anymore. :)
I cannot recommend this book to anyone looking for a good romance. Read more
Review:Loved this book. Ive been waiting to see how this generation is going to pair off. It's wonderful to have a better look inside Richard's family and see how all of the kids relate to one another. Can't wait for Marcus' story. Read more
Review:Even though this is the second book in the series, I read it last and found it just as satisfying as all the others. Nobody is doing Regency romances better today than Stephanie Laurens. The plot of this book focused almost exclusively on the relationship between the two leads. There was some sort of mystery plot surrounding the whole thing, but frankly I couldn't keep the cast of characters straight and didn't find it very interesting. Not that it mattered. The core relationship was more t... Read more
Review:I have enjoyed the writing of Stephanie for some time. It was a delight to read of Malcom's coming of age after reading of his growing moral character in a previous novel. As always well written, with insights into a (gentler?) time of the past so that you can picture the life they lead . Read more
Review:Once again Stephanie gets it oh so right with the continuing Cynster saga. My only complaint is that is seems so long between books. I know it isn't but I no sooner finish one that I want to know what happens next. Read more
Review:My first Stephanie Laurens book was "Devil's bride" which I loved, then I read two other Cynster which left me wondering whether any other member of the family would ever compare to Devil.. I was ready to give up and move on when the star rating and reviews for this book made me give the Cynsters AND Laurens one last chance; needless to say I am glad I did, Gabriel/ Rupert is as strong a character as Devil and Thea is, IMHO, a less exasperating character than Honoria. Well done. Read more
Review:This is my first Stephanie Laurens novel. It started out okay but I quickly lost interest. The main problem with thte book was Penelope as an individual and her relationship with Barbaby.
Penelope wasn't in my opinion a likable character. She was smug and cold. Yes she ran the Foundling House but and seemed to care about the children but I overall she lacked warmth. What Barnaby saw in her was a mystery. I guess women who have other interests besides husbands, fashion and parties we... Read more
Review:I liked this novel because it was sad and joyous. Finding Christ in death, and becoming strong in faith is what helped the heroine in this novel. It quoted so many bible scriptures that wove around the story of several families. Definitely a plus five stars. Read more
Review:The writing of this book was a hindrance in finishing it. Although the story itself was good, the grammar and sentence structure were, in a word, atrocious. Any decent book editor would pick these up immediately, so I'm surprised it was published in this form. For this reason, I will not read any more of her books. Read more
Review:There are some typos which can be distracting, but overall I thought it was not bad. I didn't have a problem with the length because it's supposed to be a short story, which was what I wanted. I like to read during my lunch hour and this fit that time perfectly. It says it's a short story in the description, I'm not sure why other readers would be surprised by that. It tells you the number of pages in the description.
The author really should have fixed all the typos by now though, and t... Read more
