Review:Every screenwriter should start by reading this book and using it as guide throughout their writing. The title says it all, it really is a Screenwriter's Bible, the best book written on formatting and guiding the writer through the process to tell their story in a format that will sell. Read more
Review:Adds little to the ideas in the original book but what there is is helpful. I originally gave this two stars but having read more, I would give it three. The book is most helpful in elucidating sub-genre but you still need the original STC.
Many of the movies analyzed I admittedly find distasteful, would never watch, and am greatful I didn't write; that's just my personal opinion and does not effect the book's value.
Remember that the author's approach is not cut-and-paste. Snyder'... Read more
Review:Where the book scores: It teaches tried and true methods for organizing screenwriting. It teaches ways of creating empathetic heroes and hated antagonists. It teaches basic screenwriting formula in a fairly interesting way.
Where it falls short: It teaches formula. To some degree formula is what Hollywood is looking for--so great. But it's a little sad to see these same tired ideas trotted out in yet another book for another generation of writers to punch out the next sequels, prequels an... Read more

Review:The book came in slightly damaged condition (only the paper covering of this hardcover) however none of that is really an issue for me.
The content within was basically a cliff note version of the predillictions and demis of many of hollywood actor/actress from the golden era. The photos make up the majorityt of this book which makes reading it much more exciting and interesting when you can put a face to the story behind the rise and fall of the subject in question.

Review:This book delivers a salacious insight into the lives of many of our popular stars. It shows the human side of their lives that makes them no different from anyone else when it comes to finding ways of satisfying their carnal lusts and desires. Scotty merely sheds light on who people were outside of their celebrity. Read more
Review:Totally opened up a world I was unfamiliar with. Amazing picture of the men behind the beginnings of film. The politics involved between competitors is similar to today's politics....the secrets, the lies, the scandal. And in the end, none of it matters. Read more
