Humor
Review:This book was hilarious! I was chuckling outloud within the first few minutes of reading the book. I find Kathy Griffin very funny and her sarcastic sense of humor makes me happy. She does dish on many celebrities and you also get to see a more serious side of her when she discusses her family. I too am from an Irish background so I enjoyed the little jokes she had made about the Irish or about their drinking or even their hard work ethic. This is not a book that has some amazing plot or st... Read more
Review:Terry Crews describes the problems he faced in life with good insight humor and honesty. He got to that point only after many failures, struggles, self assessment, introspection, religion/faith/spirituality and help from psychologists. He was raised in a family where his parents constantly fought and his father beat his mother. He used education and a football scholarship to escape Flint but then could not make it on 6 NFL teams so he moved to Los Angeles to try to use is creative talents (dra... Read more

Review:My grandchildren immediately opened this book, enjoyed the pictures and were curious to learn what was happening in each caption. They were able to talk about other animals they had encountered that could do some of the "tricks" the animals in this book performed. Read more
Review:I love when books sneak some learning into the fun. This is a great way to review your parts of speech while creating interesting, entertaining stories in the process. Works well in a group setting, as well as for individuals. Read more
Review:I just happened upon the book and the boomama blog through a mutual friend's tweet. Where have I been??? I instantly connected with the "feeling" of home and what "home" is all about. From the beginning of the first story, I was hooked!!!If you love the tradition of family - no matter how screwy your's is - you'll LOVE this book. Be prepared to laugh out loud with tears streaming down your face and a kleenex in hand..... GOOD TIMES! Enjoy!!!! Headed out to buy another copy for a "non-southerner"... Read more
Review:The book was easy reading. The plot made you think about a time in our world that wasn't so good. This should remind us that it should never happen again. Somehow I thought it would end differently. Read more
Review:If you enjoy plotless meandering books, this one is for you. I’m not keen on them. This story is about a woman in a mid-life crisis, running away on a road trip to malls, diners, motels, trailer parks, main street front porches, K-Mart and coupon shoppers, etc., etc., and the people she encounters there in order to escape her family and her husband. Okay, she’s searching for herself at 50 years old (a little late for coming of age) but the self-indulgent, me, me, me became quite redundant and we... Read more
Review:I learned some very interesting things about our first ladies, and found them sometimes more interesting than their husbands. A really good read for someone who likes history from the personal point of view. I highly recommend this work, and getting it on Kindle Fire makes it a really good deal. Read more
Review:The author has an enchanting style. The story doesn't move around a fixed plot, it is rather based on the characters and moves fluently while expressing the interesting characters build by the author... All in all, an absorbing tale, and not without a strong message! Read more
