A Military Romance Novel (Military Men Book 1)

Derrick and Arianna are a great match. While he's been in the army and several tours. She's a journalist in this hostile environment. Military trying to move civilians out and Derrick job is the journalist. Both depriving their sexual urges for so long are hot for each other, even when they don't want to be. Not only does this book give you a glance at different territory, it does so through the eye of a journalist who is slowing having her opinion changed. A must read!!!

Spoilers!! Within the first few chapters of this book, I was getting upset. It seemed to be just sex, which is usually ok as long as it has a good storyline, but I was not liking the way the soldier was being betrayed. He's suppose to be fighting for freedom and protecting American civilians yet all he can do is think about screwing this woman?? But I decided that I would give the book a little more time to develop the story before I completely quit on it and I'm so glad I did. Stick with it. Hot soldier with a sort of HEA. It's not necessarily a cliffhanger but I found myself feeling there are too many ways for their story to go after the last page. If you like danger mixed with a hot and sexy soldier, give this book a try. Just remember not to give up on it too early.

Having never read anything by this author before, I enjoyed this story a lot. Hostile territories in war zones are not easy places to be whether you are a civilian journalist as the lead female character is or as a member of the military as the lead male character is. That being said it is definitely worth reading and a contains a good story. I received this as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Normally I wouldn't read books about guys being in the military, but for some reason as soon I started reading this book I couldn't put this book down. It was so heartwarming from the beginning till the end. Adrianna and Derick go through so much in just a small amount of time and after crossing paths their lives will never be the same again.
I honestly can not wait to read the next one :D

I'm usually not a big fan of military themes, but Hostile had me hooked. The story began with convict between the main characters, Derick & Adirana. After being forced together in a life-threatening situation, their convict turns into something more. I loved the suspense & romance & lust, as well as a realistic story line.

After receiving this book for an honest review. I was really pleased that I took a chance. This was different for me but I enjoyed it. Leila Haven is a talented writer who made the story pop with more than sex. She made you envision the environment and took you there. Hats off to Ms. Haven for a story well told.

This was good, fast read. Not perhaps the deepest, but sexy. A few things out of left field that confused me. These details read as pretty important to the characters but were not addressed until the end. Perhaps they'll be addressed in the follow up? Overall, not a bad way to spend an afternoon!

With that being said, I really enjoyed this book. There were some times when I wasn't sure what was going to happen- and I was worried and fearful.
Very good writing helped keep me engaged in this story.
I can't wait for the next installment in the series!

Enjoyed this book about the military man and the reporter. Two people who initially rubbed each other the wrong way but ended up needing each other to make it to safety in a terrible war zone. This book was amazing, from start to finish,I couldn't put it down. I fell in love with these characters and the plot of there story.I haven't read many of Leila Haven's books,but the ones I have read we're amazing,she is becoming one of my favorite writers,I didn't want to put Hostile down once I started reading it,when I got to the end I was disappointed it was over(it was that good). This is a five star book and I recommend this book to every body that loves a good Romance and a hunk in uniform.

I enjoyed the way the book began, each character having their own agenda, their own mission. Step-by-step, not anticipating each, then being captivated by one another. Corporal Watson, being a kind of One Night Stand (or maybe, just enough time) Man, then developing feelings.

I enjoyed not being able to guess what would happen next.

Wow! This book is HOT! The author did a great job setting the story up. The characters were strong and the story line was great. It's a book that you'll want to read again.

I could not put it down , the characters were well developed and the action was great. I usually do not read military plots but this is one that I would read over and over and I cannot wait to read other books by this author.

If you like stories with military themes, youll definitely this one. at first i was a little worried it was going to be like every other military story; guy saves annoying, stubborn woman, they fall in love, end of story. This was much more than that. I liked that there were more realistic depictions of what goes on in the battlefield. it reminds me to be thankful for their service everyday. While we might think we can portray their lives, nothing will come close. Overall, I really liked this one. Can't wait for the rest of the series!

I loved this book. The characters where so good that it was hard to stop reading. I stood up all night trying to get to the end of this book. I would recommend this book to anyone waiting for your next book in the series you are reading to come out. A must read.

I received this book free through Smut Fire. The book had a good flow but lacked a backstory. The erotic sex scenes were ok yet unbelievable at times. Few grammatical errors, which is a bonus! Overall, I would give this book a good rating.

I do not usually read military books but this was given to me by the author, so of course I read it. What a surprise-I loved it from the beginning! Such good characters and what a story. So interesting, that I read it all at once. (good thing I had the time) I worried about how it would end, but no worries-good ending. Loved the passion, sex and love with Ariana and Derek. Thanks, Leila for a great book-it makes me interested in more.

Well written story about a reporter who is befriended by a military man named Derrick. There is a bit of jumping back and forth between Derrick and Ariana, telling their story in first person but it is not too difficult to follow. It starts out with them not being able to stand each other but very sexually attracted, daydreaming about being with each other in a hostile wartime environment but when they get together it is quite interesting to say the least.

I got this for an honest arc review wholly guacamole bat man if I ran into a hot service man when I was in the marines I might have stayed in. This is one scorching hot read. The only problem I had with is the girls name. Kept changing.

I really enjoyed this book! We meet Ariana while she's waiting to be "rescued" while pursuing stories in Afghanistan. She's smart, full of strength and has a bit of attitude. Derrick is all military, all the time. He knows what he wants, he knows how to get it and he has fought hard to get to where he is now. Their connection is strong and I love the pull that they have towards each other, even though they fight it. The nail biting intensity and danger has you right there with them along with the heart tugging emotion. It's a great read and I recommend the read!

Thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced book, and didn't want to put it down. Great, suspenseful writing that kept me totally engaged throughout the entire book. Enjoyed the believable characters and can't wait for more.
