I enjoyed this story that kept me captivated with its mystery, romantic suspense, unexpected circumstances, trouble-makers, danger and new beginnings. Tabitha Canterbury had a dream to opening a bookstore, even if it meant leaving her parents in New York and traveling to Wyoming where she has an Aunt and Uncle, siblings of her mother. She has given up on love and marriage and accepted she is a spinster, but she has her books and her bookstore. Hunter Wade finds himself the half owner of the Bright Nugget Saloon in Logan Meadows instead of the cash payment owed him for a job. Hunter spent his years helping lead wagon trains across the West since he was a young boy. At forty, maybe settling down in a town will be a nice change. The story has many people that are regular people from previous stories, but this story will read well as a standalone.

“A man’s good word is his most vital possession, Hunter. Don’t ever forget it. “Please think before you speak. Once your words are out, it’s impossible to call them back.”

The plot’s main characters are Hunter Wade and Tabitha Canterbury who develop a unique relationship. Hunter never had proper schooling and has asked Tabitha to help him improve his reading. They appear to be developing romantic feelings but also have a way of aggravating each other. As Tabitha tries some new promotions to grow her business with a Tuesday night book reading, Hunter is impressed with her business sense. When Hunter attempts to do the same for the Bright Nugget, animosity comes from a misunderstanding when Dichelle Bastianelli arrives in town as a singer. Trouble is stirring between the whites and Chinese that puts some neighbors in a life and death situation. In the heat of the moment, in the act of panic, a lie is spoken that puts two people in an unusual situation. Can Tabitha and Hunter manage a business arrangement of marriage in name only? The story kept the pages turning, and had me laughing out loud so many times and also on the edge of my seat as certain scenes unfold. There is a great cast of characters in this quaint little town of Logan Meadows. Disclosure: I received an e-copy from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions, and ratings are my own.

This story opens with a very weary Hunter Wade trying to collect money that Quincy Malone owes him for taking Quincy’s family safely back East. After telling Hunter he is broke, Quincy gives him the deed to half a saloon in Logan Meadows. Needless to say Kendall Martin who owns the saloon, doesn’t meet him with open arms. After confirming that Hunter indeed owns half the bar, Kendall reluctantly and gradually lets Hunter help get the saloon back in shape.

Tabitha Canterbury has made a life for herself in Logan Meadows. She owns a bookstore and has a lot of friends in town and loves her life here, except for one thing, she is 29 years old, unmarried and lonely but hides it well. When she sees Hunter Wade ride into town she is fascinated with the tall, dark, and handsome man.

Hunter and Tabitha gradually become friends as she is helping him with his reading skills and he is intrigued at what a strong woman she is. When her Aunt Roberta sends for Tabitha’s mother to come stop this budding romance, Tabitha puts her foot in it when she comes up with a plan to stop her mother’s meddling. Then an almost tragedy happens and makes these two realize what is really important in their lives.

This is another hit for Carolyn Fyffe in her library of best sellers. The plot is well written and put together very nicely. It has friendships that are strong and true. There are several busybodies to add humor, fun and a little stress for the H&H. There is some mystery as to who the bad guy is and what he is up to. Of course, there is a chance at love where there didn’t seem to be a way for two people who couldn’t deserve it more. I love going back in time to learn things about that time period and just watch people make their way through ups and downs just like we do today. I’ve read other books by this author and have loved them as well and while reading Whispers On The Wind I felt like I was visiting old friends. I eagerly wait for the next story by this author.

I received this ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.

When it come to western romance, there are only a handful of authors that I completely trust, and Caroline Fyffe is right at the top of that list.

She manages to create stories that easily capture my imagination from that proverbial first page, all the way to the last. The hero’s she creates are men of honor and strength, yet vulnerable and flawed. This perfectly describes a hero in this novel, Hunter Wade, a drifter who is pondering if it’s time to put down roots in this town. It all depends on how his news will be received by the town folks and especially the owner of Bright Nugget saloon.

Tabitha is one of those smart-ass heroines that knows exactly who she is and what she wants out of life. Or at least she did before our hero steps in her way.

is her own woman. Leaving all she ever knew, she headed west with nothing but her dreams of owning her own bookstore. And she founds those dreams in Logan Meadows. Known as the town spinster at the age of almost 29, she has her home and her business, not to mention countless friends to make her happy. Life is good. And then Hunter rode into town.

This romance had a lot to overcome and the way to their happily ever after wasn’t without trouble. It’s those topsy turvy situations that were fun to witness and it made me appreciate their happy ending even more.

Seriously, if you’ve never read this author, I highly recommend you start. And if you have Kindle Unlimited, her books are free! Now go get ’em, pardner!

Delightful tale of opposites attract. The charming town of Logan Meadows comes to life once again in this latest Prairie Hearts novel. I have grown to love the characters in this town through the earlier books in this series. It is so fun to get another peek into their lives as I grow to know and love new characters who have joined the community. Tabitha and Hunter have both found a special place in my heart. They are both fiercely independent but also lonely. They have reached a point in their lives where they want companionship but don't know how to reach out to each other. Misunderstandings and rumors threaten to keep them apart. The twists and turns that finally brought them together kept me laughing and on the edge of my seat. Someday I would like to go back and reread this whole series one right after another so I can remember the details about each character. In the meantime these books stand alone just fine. You don't have to start at the beginning of the series if you have not read the previous books. As always I look forward to the next story in this series!

I absolutely loved this part of the Prairie Hearts series, 'Whispers on the Wind'. It was an enduring romance that lingered in my heart and mind for a while after reading this book.

This wasn't just romantic, but it showed a time in our land where prejudicial situations happened on EVERY level. Yes, if you were a different race back in those days you were looked upon as being able to sell, but the more I read I also realized that woman were looked upon as no longer able to marry if passed a very young age. That was a true prejudice. As well as a man who wasn't the exact look for ladies, who didn't ware the right clothing, who visited salons, was looked upon as being the wrong kind to marry for a woman.

So like I said, the true romance was there, but the unsaid words about each other are such a disaster if each other doesn't speak the truth.

I loved it, I'm sorry if my review doesn't say a lot...I don't like giving spoilers, but I truly recommend this beautiful story for everyone...

I borrowed this using Kindle Unlimited. This author makes you forget you're reading a novel and you feel like you're in the middle of the action. The characters are real with realistic strengths and weaknesses. Her books include references and situations that were common problems at the time of the novel (this one includes antagonism against the chinese brought here to build the railroads and to work the mines). A definite excellent book to read (each novel in complete in itself, but many characters continue through the series--so are best read in order).

Such an enjoyable story full of everyday struggles in the 1800's. Life in the West was hard, dangerous, sometimes lonely but also very rewarding. The characters are unique in this well written story and they have great connections. Hunter and Tabitha are two very different people, both hard headed but have a strong attraction to one another. Love can find a way if they just let it happen. Fantastic read!

Gifted a copy for an honest review.

This was another great story by Caroline Fyffe. It is part of the Prairies Heart series. While it is a stand alone book. I have enjoyed reading them in order. These books are well-written with interesting characters that I found myself invested in. I will definitely continue this series. This is a Christian historical romance novel. However, I do not feel it is preachy.

Opposites attract even in the late 1800's Wyoming small town romance. Women's rights, problems Chinese immigrants faced from local cowpokes, uninformed "Easterners' face the facts of life on the open range of Wyoming... You can hear the wind blowing! The winds of change in many facets allow personal growth to most residents of the town. A bookstore in rural Wyoming? Changing the face of a saloon to better serve clients? A saloon girl, but... not? Many old ideals are addressed and changes bring a town together to be more of a "family."

Tabitha is an independent woman who owns the town's bookstore but meets her match in Hunter, who came to town to be partner on the Saloon. Their pathway to love involves twist and turns. Enjoy revisiting Logan Meadows and all the townsfolk. Settle down and enjoy the trip back to the old west.

Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks.

This was an ok story - it was the typical historicl romance story of two people each wanting a more romantic releationship with the other with their on again off again love affair. The typical basic plot you read over and over again....nothing new - an easy story for the author to write.

I love this series and the characters. This story touched on some historical events as well. I really enjoyed the smart characters and had more than one laugh out loud moment. The actual events leading to the wedding didn't feel true to the character; felt forced. However their relationship as a whole was fun to watch develop.

I like all characters, old and new ones alike. It's a feeling of comfort reading about small community where people actually care and take care of each other. It's left me wanting to keep reading her books.

This book left one small strand of the story hanging, which is the topic of the next book in the series. I will be giving this book its 5 stars and going on to the next book (6) to catch the resolution on the cliffhanger.

This author puts much interesting detail into her romance books...more than I usually get, which is great. Also, the stories are clean, but with strong romantic tension, and her heroes have integrity as well as being very alpha. This is a five star for me, which is uncommon.
