Bonhoeffer is detailed and analytical in his observations regarding daily life in a close-knit Christian commmunity. I found this book to be highly thought-provoking and practical. He covers a lot of ground, and I found many of his thoughts to ring true with my own experiences. His discourse is firmly anchored in the Word, with frequent scripture citations to validate and expand the thoughts in his writing.

Really enjoyed this book. The forgiveness, love, mercy we see and receive in Christ we should receive in other believers. The Christ that lives in me should rejoice when I see and feel the Christ in you and together be excited for Christian community. Highly recommend this book and author.

If you approach Life Together as Bonhoeffer's educated suggestion on how a Christian community should exist, you'll gain some great insights into relational living. But if you take his description as the only model of a Christian community, then you'll most likely end up frustrated. Bonhoeffer competently explores important concepts - such as confession, prayer, Scripture readings - that make for a healthy community of faith, but I found myself disagreeing with some of his "musts" and "have-tos." (For instance: he says when singing as a group, we must only sing in one voice, because we're one community, and having harmonic voices in addition to the melody would undermine the unity of the community. To me, that takes the logic way too far.) So while this book is not the masterpiece that The Cost of Discipleship is, it's still packed with helpful insights into forming & sustaining Christian community.

The size of this book belies its profundity. It is probably the best I have every read on the subject of how we live together in the body of Christ. I will read it over many times, because the concepts, though simple and easy to grasp, are deeply convicting, and not often seen in the normal church experience.

This was my introduction to Bonhoeffer, a small dense book. If you are new to Bonhoeffer, this is a good place to start, but don't pick it up if you are comfortable where you are, because you will no longer be, after you finish.

Life Together is about a German Christian who ends up in a concentration camp for aiding Jews during the Nazi reign of terror. He died 3 days before his camp was liberated, but from Christian perspective, he died well. Easy read, inspirational, thought provoking, Bonhoeffer stays the famous lines "To be silent in the face of evil is evil itself. Not to speak is to speak." Seller sent my order ahead of schedule, packed right, excellent condition. Highly recommend sell and especially the book.

Still not through it yet. Taking my time and using each section as a personal devotion time. Bonhoeffer's writing is pertinent to today's daily living even though the examples are dated.
It really is a good book for personal reflection.

This audio version of Bonhoeffer's Life Together is beautifully read by Paul Michael.
His voice could well resemble Bonhoeffer's. Michael's clarity and conversational
style is that of one who is not reading but speaking from his own heart. My hard-of-hearing
husband easily followed every word. This audio has deepened our understanding of the
book.

This is an excellent book by an incredible pious man. He is a role model for all growing Christians and should be a book read in ones early christian life yet should be ready at anytime in ones Christian walk.

A classic in understanding the importance of what a community of faith is about and how God is at work in the midst of the community. A short book, but a lot of great material. It is a book you will want to read over and over.

This book has some extremely valuable thoughts regarding what authentic Christian community looks like and feels like in a real world. It challenges our presuppositions and unspoken expectations with Scriptural truth. It places Jesus and his salvation at the centre of every individual and at the centre of life together.
