I think this book was perfect. Great characters, well written (so happy to read contemporary romance without all the bad grammar), hot. For me the mark of a good book is that when I am not reading it I find my mind wandering back to the book, thinking about the characters and eager to get back to reading. A well written character feels like someone you actually know. This book did that for me.

I loved the first half of this novel. Killian and Libby's chemistry was off the charts. I loved reading about their budding relationship in a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere.
And then Libby goes on tour with Killian and that's when the story fell a little short for me.
I would have loved this story so much more without the rock and roll drama. The second half really bored me to tears. Unfortunate because I really liked Killian and Libby.

But their relationship was really well done.

You have to love a story where the main characters are named after a national monument and a beer. From the moment Liberty Bell discovers Killian passed out on her lawn they instantly connected. Killian is running while Liberty is hiding. To watch their story unfold is a journey, beautifully crafted by a talented writer. The universal weaknesses we all share is woven through both characters making you feel a connected and simply draws you in. Please Ms Callihan don't make us wait too long for more of your fantastic books.

I really really love Kristen's other series Game On... its one of my favorites and she didn't disappoint with this new series..

I love a music man and Killian was just awesome... I could let him play guitar and sing to me all day...

This book does not end in a cliff hanger which makes me so happy.. plus there will be more book which make me ever more happier...

impatiently waiting for more.......

Really enjoyed it! It was a sweet, sexy love story about coming out of hiding and learning to overcome personal fears that can keep you from your dreams. Loved all the characters and can't wait to read their stories. Killian was sexy and confident, but not a dick about it. Libby was shy, but not a pushover. Together they made the cutest couple. I loved how their relationship built and stayed strong, even when they were apart their love was apparent. The music/band part of this story wasn't super heavy and it was really well done.

Idol was just soooo good. Right from the start, I was hooked. I don't know exactly, but both characters, Killian and Libby just stole my heart. I loved their chemistry and I loved that they were strong characters with and without each other. Their banter was perfect. The storyline didn't feel overly unique, but I was submerged in this Idol book world and never wanted to surface. The supporting cast was fun and I'm excited to see where this series will go.

I enjoy Kristen Calihan's writing. Idol is an example why I buy her books. The main characters are decent people who struggle to overcome personal issues. The heroine is truly feisty but not b1chy. I like to read of women who I respect and admire, where I can see why the male interest falls for her personality, rather than because she's hot. There's been a quite few books that I have read where the woman is spoiled, immature brat, and yet the man falls in love with her. To me that falls into the idiotic misogyny of romance novels. The male is alpha and the woman just swoon. Kristen gives me leads that are a team and I can see the progress of their romance. I highly recommend her books.

I have read this book countless times and I still come back to it!
Kristen Callihan writes fantastic characters that will wrap you up in their world!
This is one of my all time favorite books!!
Plot: Hot Rockstar Hero meets a reclusive Heroine in a non-meet-cute way. Both are trying to recover from emotionally traumatic life events. They turn to each other and to music to get their HEA!

The other reviews basically say the same thing, that the beginning and end of this book are the best. The middle was a little long. I loved the banter and snark. The basis of finding yourself in someone you never thought you'd look for is a tried and true scenario and I it worked with Killian and Liberty as well.
The other players in the book were all well liked and I look forward to their stories.
There were some editing errors but they did level out by the last few chapters.

Killian James is my latest BBF. Oh. My. God. He knows all the right things to say, and does all the things that make a girl swoon, AND he doesn't, cheat or lie and is fairly good at communicating. And, he is amazing to look at and to listen to. Libby and Killian were a joy to read about. She wasn't a wimp and he wasn't a jerk and together they made this book a whole lot of fun with a story that was sweet and sexy and believable. Cant wait to read Scotty's story next.

Truly awesome book, loved it, read it! My gosh I don't even know how to say how much I truly enjoyed this book. Libby, she's amazing and so real, I loved her. Killian, oh Killian...my new bbf! He's it man. Sad it's over, will have to go back and read it again. Sexy, sweet and on point, this is how a book should be written. Can't wait for the next. They both just need each other, communicate it and then don't but geez the love never wavers.
Read it, so, so good!

I'm beginning to think Kristen Callihan couldn't write a bad book even if she tried. Killian has just climbed to the top of my book boyfriend list. The opening scene between Lawn Bum and Elly May grabbed my attention and never let go. The banter between all the characters was perfect, the music brought back a lot of memories and I can't wait to read Scottie's story.

I'm still hoping that we can some day hear Liberty's version of "The Man in the Box."

Love the way that Liberty treated Killian when she first found him. The water hose was crazy. Killian is enjoying the fact that Libby does not recognize him and he can be just him. Like always the truth comes out and things are a little strange for a little bit. They are enjoying hanging out together and getting to know each other. The other cast of characters are great also. Grab this one and enjoy.

This book was incredibly sweet and entertaining. The only thing that keeps me from giving five stars is Libby's character, especially towards the end. It feels like some of the angst between her and Killian was forced, and the way that angst got resolved left me unsatisfied. I'm not a fan of the guy always having to prove himself or be the one to fix things when there's trouble, and I feel like that's what happened here. I wanted Libby to prove herself more and to give the same level of obvious devotion as Killian. I became incredibly frustrated with her at parts and it has left me feeling not completely satisfied. But all in all, it is a very sweet story, and I absolutely adored Killian.

Sorry for the only barely three stars , I really like this writer, the first book I read from her was the "Hook Up " ,I accidentally ordered it trying to sample it,let me tell you this don't let a cover or title put you off that book was a darn good relationship to love read.Friend Zone seriously was the best ,I swear the story ,the relationship building between the characters was perfect, fun and seriously funny full out laughing at times,it was just the very best.Game Plan was ok ,just a bit hard to get around the whole virgin guy thing?I know ,I know very stereo typing unfair of me but true. His reasons why was the biggest stretch I would have preferred a better more convincing back story than what I got.Now Idol ,I loved how it started off ,him crashed on her lawn, her armed with the hose, just going so well but than it got patchy for me ,one minute it was engaged, next a bit bored and that was kind of the theme for the rest of the story for me. One section you are feeling connected to the characters and then it's becoming a long winded read, sorry to say.By the 60 percent mark I was speed reading trying to get to the connection between the two again,it kind of got a bit bland.Where was your amazing humor Kristen because after the dance scene in Friend Zone I know you have it in spades.Just wanted more growth in this couple, more moments of them sharing more than just the stage and sexy time.I mean you had so many characters of friends to get the party started with them all with great bonding and laughs but those moments where so few and far between. Your a good writer and I love you funny bone, please let it show.Bottom line the story was fair,a bit to long and wordy at times, could have been alot more heart and soul and Scottie would never have been my choice for the next book his character is just ridiculous, the excerpt from the next book nearly bored me to tears and it was just a little of what's to come,Scottie's book is going to have to be epic to make me change my mind about his character making the worse read ever. That book your going to have to pull out your entire funny bone and throw im your body funny bonr to make that boring guy a good read.Good Luck Kristen because if you can get back to the hook up/friend zone type of engaging ,fun and real character connecting relationship writing it would be so much better.

This is not your typical rockstar romance book, it's much more. Your half way through the story when you realize she hasn't seen him preform on stage. Their relationship is the real story here, him being a rockstar is almost in the background. I highly recommend reading this one.

Rock star series with heart is how I would define Idol. Killian and Libby meet when he crashes his motorcycle on her lawn. She wakes his drunk ass up with a garden hose bath and their friendship begins. I really liked the story. Great characters! Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Love, love, love this story! Yes, I fell HARD for Killian and couldn't get enough of Libby and her snark, but what I appreciated the most was originality, loved how unique this story is. A really great story about not only finding yourself, but finding love as well. Add in a sprinkle of humor and a dash of realness, you won't be disappointed with this story!

“Idol” is the first book in the “VIP” series. It can be read as a standalone, but you will want to read about what happens to the characters in the upcoming books. Though featuring a rock band, you don’t need to have any particular music knowledge or be a music enthusiast, you will however probably be more appreciative of music and the significance of lyrics after having read it. The main characters, Killian and Libby strike up a seemingly unlikely friendship, though it turns out they have more in common than originally anticipated. From the very first page you are eager to find out how these two met and what happens next.

What can I say about this book? I absolutely loved it!! Killian was an amazing hero and Libby was perfect. Their meeting on the lawn was classic! He was the sweetest rocker a girl could ever meet. He was like I imagine Daughtry.??. I can hardly wait for eye candy Scottie!! Please don't let me wait long. Brenna and Rye I can hardly wait for their stories. I'm so excited for this series!

Love this rock & roll romance. First in the VIP series is Killian and Libby's love story. Killian is hot and swoon-worthy. Libby is strong and sweet. Mature characters with a little angst thrown in make this a great read. Jax, Rye, Whip, Brenna and Scottie all help to enhance the journey.

Kristen Callihan is such a wonderful author. I could not wait for this series to start. The beginning is amazing, the two main characters have such great chemistry from the start.

The story struggles a little midway through, but picks back up wonderfully.

I cannot wait for more from this series. I'm especially looking forward to Brenna's book and Jax's book.

Rock romances are done all the time. The good books sometimes get overlooked or passed up. I am so glad I took the chance on this book. Lillian and Libby are sexy and funny and just really likable. The whole band is fun there is a good vibe with this book. I already purchased Managed and looking forward to Scottie's story.

Wow, just wow! The heat coming from this book could have started a fire. A sexy rock God who is not a whore or a drug addict?? Apparently they do exist and when they are written by Kristen Callahan they are pretty freaking awesome. This author wrote such amazing characters i felt like I was there with them. This book was fantastic.

I found myself quickly engrossed in the characters and the plot. There were definitely some genre cliches but it is still really enjoyable. I really like that neither of the main characters are completely predictable. It made getting to their HEA that much more interesting.

A really great read that is well-written, with the right amount of Inkster, and believable characters. The key to a good romance book is always that you can see why the characters are attracted and the author does a great job of giving you the details so that you are cheering them on. A really enjoyable read.

Annoying heroine

Kristin Callahan has done it again! Great story and I can't wait to read Scottie's. Killian and Libby are so perfect and their love story is so passionate and sometimes heart-wrenching but beautiful and so sexy. Never thought anyone could take Ethan Dexter's place in my heart but Killian is very close. Must read!!

This is my first book by kristen Callahan. I was tired of the same old same old love/sex stories. This was a refreshing change. A lovely story of getting to know each other and not realizing how they've revived the life of the other. Hot rocker inside and out. I love this couple. I will be reading every book by this author!!

Libby

I found Killian drunk and sprawled out on my lawn like some lost prince. With the face of a god and the arrogance to match, the pest won’t leave. Sexy, charming, and just a little bit dirty, he’s slowly wearing me down, making me crave more.

He could be mine if I dare to claim him. Problem is, the world thinks he’s theirs. How do you keep an idol when everyone is intent on taking him away?

Killian

As lead singer for the biggest rock band in the world, I lived a life of dreams. It all fell apart with one fateful decision. Now everything is in shambles.

Until Liberty. She’s grouchy, a recluse —and kind of cute. Scratch that. When I get my hands on her, she is scorching hot and more addictive than all the fans who’ve screamed my name.

The world is clamoring for me to get back on stage, but I’m not willing to leave her. I’ve got to find a way to coax the hermit from her shell and keep her with me. Because, with Libby, everything has changed. Everything.

Wow! I wish I could give this book more than a 5 star review! I absolutely loved Libby & Killian's story! Their banter was hilarious and their chemistry off the charts! This is a must read!

What a beautiful story. Funny, nostalgic, sexy, all rolled into a fantastic story with a rock band as background. It's a good kind of different from other books where there's a beautiful rock star falling for a girl. Very well written and another fine book by this author.
