This set of books (reading, writing, and math) have been great for my son but he was only starting Kindergarten when we started it and it was just the right level. So, I would think it would be too easy for the average 1st grader. My son loves Star Wars and these books have been very motivating for him. They are fairly similar to the types of worksheets that he is doing at school. Great extra practice for breaks and weekends!

We actually have all the Kindergarten and 1st grade books at our house. My eldest son is going into the second grade, but I wanted to keep him fresh during the summer months. This was a great review for him. The start of the book was pretty basic for him, but it was still good for him to remember all those terms that he will be using in class soon. My youngest is going into Kindergarten, and he was able to do a lot of the Kindergarten aged books. When they started getting into writing whole sentences, he did struggle a little.
My boys love Star Wars, so this was a great series that motivated my boys to want to work. My youngest wanted to do his "work" off and on all day. If you are not a Star Wars fan, you may have a few issues with name pronunciations and fill in the blanks. Other than that, this is a great series of workbooks.

I have a child about to enter Kindergarten. This book is almost too low for him. However, I don't blame the book, I just think the kid is going to do well in school. I like the size of the font in the book, makes it easy to read. Clear instructions. And it's Star Wars, people.

My first grader loves doing the math in this book. The math in the book is at grade level for him. Instead of it being like homework or school work that takes coersion to complete, he will sometimes ask if he can do it as a reward after he gets his chores done! This is a great idea. I highly recommend it.

My 6 year old really likes this book. We homeschool and I was looking for something to use as a filler in Math. Although he's never seen the show, he does love Star Wars so this was perfect. The boy willing sits down and does Math Facts just because there are Star Wars characters on it. It is common core aligned, but since its just a supplement for us, we skip the pages that lean that way. Because he loved his so much, I had to get his 3 year old brother 2 of the preschool ones and they love doing their workbooks together. My next purchase will be 2nd Grade Reading to supplement over the summer.

Much of what you would expect: math as taught with colorful Star Wars characters and illustrations. The pictures are bright and engaging and can help foster an interest in kids who might otherwise be disinterested or struggling with the subject. The illustrations are good, too, particularly the cover illustrations.

My son loves the workbook, mostly review from K math. He finished it in less than two weeks over the summer. Great practice for kids entering 1st grade. I am getting him the second grade workbook to work on this Fall. I can't wait for their 3rd/4th grade workbooks.
