Excellent recipes! Perfectly calculated, and measured for 2!. I'm accomplisehed at cooking for 2-3, but when it came to baking, this hit the spot. Once I got my 6 inch glass pan I went to work and experimented with numerous goodies from within the book. They all came out perfect and again, it was for 2. When cooking a small dinner, this book is an excellent resource for baking for 2-3 folks.

I've been wondering about scaling back baked good recipes for years but it's challenging to split an egg and this book takes the science and I can now replicate this on my own. Very informative and nice recipes. Lots of photos, too, which I love.

This book is wonderful. The photography and content is top notch...and the recipes are even better. Perfect wedding gift for newlyweds and anniversary gift for empty nesters...and all those in between.

Very cleverly written, elegantly photographed and quite unique. I so "get" her concept of wanting to bake desserts often and then trying to find neighbors, friends and family to give cookies and cakes away to. After a while, it gets expensive and it's also time consuming to make larger quantities. With her cookbook, you make enough for two or three and then voile, you are done - no leftovers and no serious disasters. I read a lot of recipes on the Internet and this author's are different and so beautifully photographed. I did not give the book 5 stars for three reasons: (1) mini scale cooking requires some pieces of mini-equipment that you won't likely have already in your kitchen - i.e. a 6 inch pie plate, cake pan and mini-spatulas and spoons. (2) some of her ingredients are not easily found i.e. meringue powder (on the store, however!!) nor readily in my kitchen anyway i.e. almond powder. No substitutes were offered either. (3) I would have appreciated easy-to-scale-up information on some of her recipes. Yes, I can do the math, but there are some cookies that are tasty enough that 10 is not enough and I want to make more. All in all, I love making desserts and this book is a keeper for sure!

The concept is brilliant. I do love desert. But in a household of one, baking entire cakes or batches of cookies is reserved for holidays and special occasions. The idea of this book is to make smaller cakes, enough for one or perfect for sharing, or half a dozen of cookies.

I have yet to try a recipe out of this book, but I look forward to trying many of them. I have read the majority of the recipes and only a few special items are needed (i.e., a 6-inch cake pan). But those items could just as easily be picked up at my local Micheal's Arts & Crafts or Hobby Lobby store!

I have the hard copy version. Every recipe has a beautiful color photo. (Which I don't put a lot in stock into, the final product I make is more important to me! :-) But they are fun to look at... Drool worthy!)

Also, she has a blog under the same title. I wasn't aware of that before buying. I would definitely recommend checking that out too... There's more than desserts there!

Hopefully, I can update as soon as I give it a go...
(Note: only 4 stars because I have not tried any recipes)

I bought it for making desserts to give as gifts. Two brownies is quite small esp since it requires all the work, ingredients and clean up of a normal size. I didn't see any recipes I'll make. I realize it is Dessert for TWO but but the portions are tiny.Im sure the recipes are great and all but not what I was expecting. Wish I would've bought a different book. Maybe good for teaching kids to make sdes desserts

This book does have positives, for instance, it has great photography, and some of the recipes work well. Unfortunately, it also has many errors. Techniques that would help the recipes are omitted, such as tempering. A cookbook shouldn't assume the reader will know to do these things without a written prompt. Ingredient amounts are not precise, sometimes inaccurate in places. Recipes that produce a smaller yield should not sacrifice quality, they should still give just as accurate, great results as a big batch would. If you want better recipes and tastier results designed for two, America's Test Kitchen has several cookbooks written for this purpose.

Love this book! First of all, the photos are gorgeous. Cookbooks without photos or with subpar photos are so disappointing. This book does not disappoint in the photo department. Even when you're casually flipping through, you'll find countless recipes jumping out at you that look mouthwateringly delicious.

I'm terrible with portion control, so having it built into these recipes is a life saver. I always say that I would rather eat a small portion of something amazing than a big pile of diet food - this book allows me to do just that.

So far I've made and loved the lemon meringue pie cookies - an easy alternative to what can be a frustrating dessert to prepare.
Can't wait to make more recipes from this great book.

This cookbook is a gem. Beautifully composed with color images throughout, it’s perfect for baking (and eating) in small batches and it is also a charming and delightful read. Christina’s effervescent voice rings through in each and every sentence. She had me at “Howdy”.

Recipes make enough for two plus a small amount of much appreciated leftovers. I’ve made her Mississippi Mud Bars and Snickerdoodles. Both were delicious and devoured immediately. Frozen Key Lime Pie on a Stick is next on my list and it should be on yours too.

This book is perfect for anyone who loves dessert but doesn't want an entire cake staring at them for three days (or who doesn't want the temptation of eating an entire cake in one sitting). Everyone one of the recipes I have made from this book has turned out amazing - I even made the lemon pudding cakes for my dessert-hating husband and he practically licked the plate clean. When it comes to dessert, Christina really knows her stuff!

Christina's cookbook is a treat to read. Filled with beautiful stories and photos and mouthwatering dessert recipes pared down for two, the only thing I didn't like about my experience reading it was choosing what recipe to make first. It is truly a reflection of Christina and her blog -- captivating, sweet, heartwarming, charming. I was hooked from the first page.

The great thing about this book - besides the gorgeous photography and time-tested recipes - is that it's not just a great fit for singles or couples. Each recipe serves 2 with some leftover (well, depending on how many ‘second’ helpings you want), but I think it’s actually a perfect book for small families too. I can see myself using this beauty very far into the future, both for date nights and regular family dinners, especially with two kiddos (and maybe more)!

This one's going to be covered in batter and butter and stained from use very soon.

The best cookbook I have ever purchased!!! I love how she scales down the recipes for two. That way I am not over eating on a dessert for 10 all week! I love how every recipe has a picture. Can't wait to see what else she comes up with!

Attractive looking cookbook with perfectly tasty looking recipes. However, while I get the point of not wanting to make full-sized recipes for one or two people, I also don't understand why anyone would go to the trouble of baking, for example, an Italian Cream Cake in a 6" size? For most cookies, you can easily freeze dough so that it's ready for baking when you want a cookie or two. Bar cookies can be easily cut after baking and frozen. And these aren't items that take up a huge amount of space in your freezer. Pies and cakes, obviously not so much, but if I'm only feeding a couple of people, those are not the desserts I'd gravitate towards anyway. I wouldn't not consider baking such small amounts a wise use of my time, personally.

This cookbook is beautiful from front to back! Right now my family is small and cooking for two is exactly what we need. I love the tips for scaling down recipes in the front and all of the recipes look delicious! I can't wait to get through more of them!

LOVED this book. The desserts were delicious. Unfortunately I ate so much I developed Diabetes, but I still eat the desserts anyway even though my doctor carries on about it. Not too long ago, I had hamster named Bryan. I liked to let him out of his cage every now and again so he could go on a little adventure. I even made a little tunic that had a velcro strap on it. Bryan would always try and run away though. One time I couldnt find him for almost an entire weekend. When I stumbled upon him he was face deep in some tiramisu I left in the sink from the previous Thursday. I had made the tiramisu based on recipes in this book. I only gave it 4 stars because the book doesnt have adequate warnings regarding hamster casualties. Overall though, the book is pretty good. Except for the dead hamster and the diabeetus thing.
