Darkness Of Light (Darkness Series Book 1)

Let me just start by saying once I started reading this series I couldn't put it down! I binge read 4 books in 3 days. Ember radiates strength even in a world that labels her as mentally unstable. There's also, Eli...dark, mysterious, and smoking hot!

Have you ever read something and thought "WOW! What an amazing book. I am compelled by this author" I felt this way after reading Darkness of Light by Stacey Marie Brown. Her writing style is impeccable. It flowed so easily and I didn't want to put it down. I felt every stab of pain that her characters suffered through. I was on the edge of my seat, and my heart fluttered every time Eli was mentioned. This book was freaking awesome! I'm almost done with book 2 and can't wait to see what will happen next. You've got to read these books! (5 dark defying stars) Awesome job!!!

I love these books. I almost passed this book by to read a different series and decided to give it a try. It was so awesome that I read this one, the second one, and the "Beast in the Darkness" in a few days. These books were written so well and the stories were so great. I CANNOT wait until the next book comes out. This is great writing that I would love to see on the big screen someday!

WOW! The story took off slowly, intertwining details and facts enough to keep me from putting it down and then suddenly BAM!! I was caught up in it and couldn't put it down!! I must go get the next in the series to see where this will go!!!

Once I starting reading, I couldn’t put it down. The cast of characters were unusual but believable. I felt empathy for the main character who thought something wrong with her because of the things she could see, do, and remember.

This series has started off where another was although trying to figure that out great reading. Teenage girl outcast blamed for everything that happens by her school and the sheriff who will win this battle?

Loved the suspense of this book. It was not another "I know what is going to happen before it happens" read. Ember is a strong character. Her ability to keep going, even after everything she has been through, gives her appeal. She is not a damsel in distress per the norm. She needs help along the way, but stands on her own two feet. Cannot wait to read the next book in the series! definitely a page Turner.

amazing read, I could not put this book down once I started. I blew through the first 3 books with ease! Currently working on the final book and I still can't put this series down, I will be sad when it ends. I read the "ebook" version, there are some grammar and other mistakes but you can easily over look them.

I enjoyed the story and the main characters. I felt it dragged a little I wanted more answers sooner. Sometimes it felt like you were just not getting anywhere. But it was free and I liked a lot of the story ideas. I plan to try out the next book. I recommend reading it.

Great book!! Only reason this book doesn't receive five stars is because I'm pulling my hair out in the agony of build up. Literally about 250 pages of "is it finally going to happen," and "what is this girl," when you find out what she is then the book is over. Frustrating, but I guess that's how authors create longer series and get the readers to keep buying the books. Despite this little problem I still encourage you to read it. Enjoy!

This was a fascinating read. The deniability lost sets Ember on a path of destruction. Can she stop what she is to become? It is a definite battle between good and bad but there is not clear line of distinction. The battle is just beginning so have fun.

OMG! I've found more great reads through getting the first in the series free. This author is an amazing story teller, you won't regret reading this book or the whole series. I've read 2 out of the 4 and can't wait to read the rest.

I really enjoyed this book! I immediately purchased the second in the series "Fire in the Darkness", and it is already starting off with a bang! I have been in a reading slump for a while, looking for something to really hold my attention. When you find yourself going about your day and then ever so subtly little thoughts creep into your mind like "I wonder what Ember is doing now, is she okay, what will happen next?" Well, you have my attention.

The series is keeping me reading. The characters are interesting and the story line is intriguing. I am on the 3rd book in the series but there are still a bunch of unresolved issues. Hopefully they will be resolved in the final book of the series.

Ember has her hands full feeling like a outsider, when she gets riled, things tend to explode around her. It becomes worse when she is sent to a school for troubled teens and meets the elusive Eli. Can he help her accept the dark side of herself?

I loved how SMB created these characters....I absolutely love the hot and cold with Ember and Eli!! SMB had me cracking up on some off the throwbacks them two were throwing out!! I can't wait to finish this series and figure out what happens to Ember, Eli, and Torin!! :)))))))))

I read the short summary on the story and downloaded it in hopes it would be a nice read. I'm glad I did as this novel was very intriguing. The suspense, deceit, and mystery behind each character kept you on your toes wanting to learn more. This had a nice twist to it. Can't wait to see what happens next.

Good read keeps u interested through to the end.something is going on all through the series. It's not the usual book based on a storyline of who gets the girl or guy . For fantasy lovers it's got new critters not just fairy,levees,trolls the usual kin of characters that u find in fairytales. On to book two.
