I have read hundreds of books in my lifetime. This book rates among my top five worst books of all time. My guess is that the author accepted a bet to include as many catastrophes and overused family drama as possible. The female character is hard to tolerate. She is immature and her temper inexplicably explodes throughout the story. There is no flow to the writing and it reads like the author's first venture, instead of the fifth book in a series. Save you time and money.

Lani Lynn Vale is probably the only author that I will actually stop reading whatever I currently on my kindle to start her book for. Just knowing that I have one of her books sitting on my e-reader and not actually reading it is just too much for me, I simply can’t cope!
So when Put Out barrelled onto my screen, I was all set.
The story is about Bowe and Angie and is another in the Kilgore Fire Series, if you haven’t read them yet…what the heck are you waiting for you are missing out big time! I love each and every one of the guys in the department and their women are the perfect partners for them, so when it came to finding the right woman for Bowe, I had been wondering who Lani would have in store.
Bowe knows who he wants, but so far, he hasn’t been able to do anything about it but considering his past and the fact that he has had a rough trot in the relationship department up until now, it was no surprise that initially we find him dating via the internet, that was right up until he saw something inadvertently that he shouldn’t have and let’s just say that, that relationship was over the minute he closed the laptop!
Bowe wanted Angie, but her past is like a road map of how to get done over without even trying, she just seemed to have always been on the receiving end of some totally miserable human beings! Her father was a douche, her ex, well he was even worse, the guy was a compete lunatic but one with friends in very high places, it was as if he was Teflon coated…nothing stuck, not even when he attacked her.
As you would expect the drama is ramped up as the book progresses but there is always a seamless layer of mystery running just beneath the surface of the story, neither of them get through the story unscathed, Bowe is injured and Angie feels responsible, even though it was nothing to do with her. From then on, they are thrown together and even when they hit their rough patch, in my heart I just knew that they were destined for the long haul.
Bowe’s interaction with Angie’s daughter was delightful, it brought the biggest smile to my face, almost more than Bowe and Angie.
I love the fact that the other guys in the team and present yet again, the series is just that, a series of interactions that might focus on a different couple each time but the never leaves the other guys out in the cold, they all pitch in and in my opinion that is what make this so great, it covers more than most and is totally immersive.
I could witter on and wax lyrical for far longer than is actually acceptable, just because I love the books so much but I think you might have already got that message by now, so to sum it up… please read this, I promise you will not be disappointed.

I race, not walk, when I know that another Kilgore Fire book is waiting for me! This author knows just the right balance of angst, drama and humour to make each outing a must-read. Angie and Bowe’s story was just what I needed to get me out of a blue January funk! It’s not to say that this was an uber-sweet love story, far from it. Instead, there are characters who struggle with everyday life happenings, riding the same roller coaster of highs, middles and lows that we all face. And do it in a way that made me smile and laugh along the way…

“It’s hard to resist a bad boy who’s a good man.”

And Bowe is definitely a good man. Why someone hasn’t scooped him right up is a mystery. Could he be too good, maybe? Unlucky in love certainly but Angie knows all about that. What happens when two people struggling on their own find someone that seems to mesh? Well, either they embrace the opportunity or do everything to rail against it… Pot vs kettle, let the games begin!

“Not every man can be bearded. Some need to stand on the sidelines and clap as we pass by.”

And they did feel like games at time but when tempered with the right amount of drama and feels it found the right balance. There are familiar faces and new ones to bolster the usual supporting cast and they help make this this series such a draw for me. Another “read it one sitting” addition to one of my favourite series…

“You have to sometimes go through ugly to get beautiful.”

We arrived at the final chapter of the Kilgore fire series which is Bowe story. It’s kind of ironic how he got a possibility of happiness already at the first book but unfortunately fate got in his way. I was waiting for his story even since. And in this case the author created something magical again.
This book started out really strong with the prologue. It was so emotional and presented a lot of possibilities for the storyline. If I wouldn’t like the author works so much just this chapter still would have pulled me in. Although because of this I had really high expectations going in. Unfortunately the story didn’t quite satisfy this notion of mine. It was still really good story but left a lot of questions unanswered, unaddressed. Especially the situation with his father and the animosity with her stepsisters, this could have been a great part of the book but kind of stayed in the background.
Bowe is a great main character. He is not afraid to show or express his feelings; he is sensible and loveable but has a vulnerable side to him as well. He is really open with his feelings and desperate for love. I was kind of feeling sorry for him after his bad experiences with woman. After meeting Angie he constantly pushes her.
Angie stubbornly denies her feeling and attraction towards Bowe because she doesn’t want to get burned again. (She has a really unlucky streak with man) She is also a survivor and a fighter. Her personality is quite different from what I expected based on the prologue and her brief appearance in other book in the series.
They have really great chemistry and they are adorable together. Has some steamy times and scenes in there, too.
The author writing style is really cleared up over the years and I absolutely love it. Her stories have everything in it. Phenomenal characters, interesting plot and simple everyday heroes. Just love it.

What an enjoyable story this is and my first peek into the world of Lani Lyn Vale.

Bowen, or Bowe for short, is a firefighter/emergency worker. Angie is a single woman trying to earn enough to get by. They both knew each other from school but had never ventured into the possibility of a relationship.

The chemistry between the two is fireball hot! I really enjoyed the banter between the characters, often chuckling aloud. This light hearted humour helped balance the deeper themes threaded through the book. All dealt with very smoothly.

The characters are so real you can relate to them easily. For example when the grandmother scolds her grandson about his language even though she'd just suffered a stroke!

An easy to read, fast paced book that just makes me want to check out this author's other books and what a wonderful selection there is too!

Angie has been through hell and back. She a survivor. She’s felt heartbreak in too many ways. She's strong, independent and a single mother. Having survived things no people should have to experience, she stands with her head held high, working her butt off, to make a good life for herself and her daughter. I love that she will stand up for herself in anyway she need to. Life handed her a crappy hand and she threw it back. She keeps her heart guarded but a super hot, all alpha fireman has her foundation cracking.

Bowe is the sweetest of men but so unlucky in love. He’s caring by nature. He a firefighter/EMT, constantly putting his own life in danger to save the lives of other. He's a persistent man, I loved that about him. He's fun, flirty and so sexy. Several personality traits of Bowe surprised me in such a good way. He did unexpected little things and went out of his way on other. He's got a heart of gold, the patience of a saint and a wickedly naughty mind. Bowe is swoon worthy.

Lani Lynn Vale’s talent for captivating readers with her weaving of words, transforming them to a story that is enticing, holding an emotional depth that allows the reader to feel with the characters is something to behold. Her style of writing is equine, bold and always leaves this reader more than satisfied at the end. Hard working hot, alpha men, sassy, strong women and charismatic secondary characters make pull readers in and keep them turning the pages.

Put Out is an emotional hot mess, balanced with the perfect amount of angst, drama and suspense. Sexual tension, chemistry and the slow build between Bowe and Angie is spot on, entertaining and very sexy. I really enjoyed Bowe and Angie’s back and forth banter. Well written and emotionally deep, Ms. Vale gives her readers an on the edge of your seat, fast paced and exceptionally hot read. I highly recommend allowing yourself to get lost in PUT OUT.

Angie is a strong woman, who has survived much in her life. After her father abandoned their family, replacing them with new step children, she had to learn how to keep fighting. Then a very bad decision, put her in the middle of a nightmare, but came with the greatest gift in a baby girl. Now, she's just fighting to build a good life for her and her child. Everything is finally calming down, when Bowen Race Tannenbaum comes into her life, shaking her world up all over again. No matter how many times she tries to shut him down, he's not giving up. Bowe feels unlucky in love, and he has come to realization no woman will measure up to Angie in his mind. After being caught in the cross fire between her and her ex, he's down for the count, but finally Angie is looking at him. As they spend more time together, he's tearing down her walls brick by brick, and while she's scared he will destroy her, she finds that she can't stay away. But when obstacles rise up, will she lean on him, or run?!

Lani Lynn Vale is one of my very favorite authors, and I'm about at the place where I'm just going to type out brilliant over and over again, because that is what I ALWAYS get from her stories. So yeah, her writing style is brilliant, and very addicting, as I WILL NEVER get enough! Angie and Bowe have been the most heart wrenching couple yet, and my eyes leaked more than once, as I experienced their story like it was my own. Once they are in the same room, simmering chemistry doesn't take long to boil over into STEAMY sexy scene goodness, that are panty meltin' HOT! Throughout the emotional ride, well placed humor broke up the heavy, which made me laugh hard. Twists and turns made for some very dramatic f-bomb dropping moments, as I never saw them coming! No matter what this author writes about, I'm going to LOVE LOVE LOVE, and Put Out is absolutely no exception! So all I can say is that I CANNOT WAIT for the next book, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

In a catharsis of words, Put Out calls forth several words I can honestly say aptly describes the novel: Pain, Justice and Acceptance of Reality. I do believe this book is the best of the series and a fabulous read.
In order to not giveaway the story let me focus on the things that made this one hell of story for me. I loved the fact that I could appreciate to Angie's plight as I found myself drawing parallels to the life of my cousin as she has suffered in the same way of not having her father's love. Boy, I tell you I was rooting for Angie every step of the way when she captured my attention in the prologue, which is the quintessential tissue worthy scene. Angie earned her heroine status in my eyes especially in the last chapters just for being resilient and consistent with who she was: what you see is definitely what you got.

This brings me to Bowe. With his sweet and sexy demeanor, Bowe's character blooms between the pages and rivals Angie in who I loved more. His strength of character as he faced a horrible adversary was just ... SWOON! Every time you meet him in the book, from saving a life to holding and loving a sweet baby girl, you will find yourself smiling and loving the story like I did.

Finally, this book is more than just a book in a series. This book explores two major social issues women too often face in real life: absentee, derelict father and abuse. Both of these issues the author handled with as much grace as possible. Both scourges of society and both can be eliminated in so far as humanly possible, if only we as humans try.

5 stars for the final installment

So yes the final installment of our fire guys But as you know they show up often in various books. The men of Lani cross over and if we are lucky from several series ...

Bowe and Angie ... First of all let's just say the Lanisms as I call them are off the charts on this release. These are the little snippets of goodness we get quoted prior to get chapter. Love them ... it's like the boom to the book.

Second let's talk Bowen. This man can't exist. This man fought for a women he wanted and never gave up. He fought hard too. Are you kidding me? Seriously where is he? That's right ... with Angie! Gah! I don't need to tell you how Lani writes her male characters .. they are amazing leaving us star struck and breathless. Bowe is no different.

Angie has been ousted by every man in her life .. her father included she doesn't think a happy ending is in her cards. Bowe has lost his mind if he thinks she is good enough for him and also thinking that he won't ever disappoint her ... yeah right.

This is s really great don't accept failure to grab your happiness story. I loved seeing our old friends and loved finding more out about Bowe. You all know it's a keeper so click it up. You deserve some Bowen. PS don't you just want to tip that hat back and see what's underneath? Great cover!

Thank you for the ARC! Sorry to see this end but these men will not be forgotten! Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets. ~ AMy

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I loved this book! I had to read this book from start to finish in one sitting.

The Kilgore FD has a top-notch crew! Bowe is a first-class fire fighter and paramedic. His easy going personality compliments his skill as a fire fighter/paramedic. He loves Angie. He has been asking her out for months and keeps getting turned down.

Angie is a brave soul. She grew up with a military father that was always deployed far away from home. He eventually left her and her family for another woman with children and never looked back until his guilt forced him to. Angie doesn’t trust men. She struggles to work full time, go to school and raise her baby daughter. Her ex, Troy, is a monster.

This story is about this young mother’s struggle to live her life and raise her daughter with so many obstacles in her path. Troy tries to control her. She has her baby to protect and yet she can’t deny her attraction to Bowe. She loves Bowe. This is a very steamy love story with all sorts of twists and turns. You won’t be able to put it down until you finish it.

Bowe will stop at nothing to protect those that he loves. Angie’s determination against so many odds is remarkable for someone so young. This story is sweet, sexy and hot! You won’t want to miss this newest story!

This is the fifth book in the Kilgore Fire series. They are complete stand alones, but you do see previous characters in each book. I have loved all of Lani’s books, for each series. What I love the most is how each series is connected.

I am so happy to finally have Bowe’s story. I’ve loved him since we first met him. He’s a great guy and it shows in this book.

Angie is awesome too. I can completely understand her feelings towards her dad. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt myself.

What she went through because of her dad, and the evil steps, plus what Troy put her through and did to her, dang. I have no words. But It did make her a stronger person. She’s a great mom and will do any and every thing for her baby girl.

Bowe actually reminds me of my dad, because of how he is with Elise. He’s not a step-dad, he is her dad!

Just like in all of the other Lani books, the quotes at the start of each chapter are great.

“I don’t have a step daughter. I have a daughter that was born before I met her.”
~Bowe to Angie

“Life is so much more enjoyable since I decided to stop giving a f***.”
~Angie’s secret thoughts

“I’m not a helicopter mom, a crunchy mom, or a soccer mom. I’m just a regular mom trying not to raise a*******.”

First Off let me say, the cover is beautiful and "Bowe" makes me drool lol. Lani Lynn has done it again with another amazing installment in the Kilgore Fire Series!

This is the Story of Bowe and Angie. We have been introduced to Bowe in the past ( when he had a thing for Masen), but now he is on the journey to fight for the woman who has consumed his thoughts.

As usual for Lani Lynn, her books completely suck you in and are filled with the perfect amount of drama, suspense and steamy scenes to keep you turning the pages late into the night.
Bowe has not had it easy and neither has Angie. One is jaded by life and the other is struggling to makes ends meet and stay afloat. I loved how their story progressed. I did not expect the twist that was given in the first couple of pages and loved how it played out through the rest of the book.

I give this book 5 stars and would suggest if you have not read the other books in the series that you go back and read them. It helps so much with the secondary characters. Amazing Amazing Amazing, can;t wait for the next book to come down the pipeline.

Lani has done this series and this book justice with the way she always draws a reader in and captivates them with her storytelling. This book is indescribable and I'm at a lost for words to show you how this book made me feel, but I'll try. Angie to me is a fighter after having her father leave and start a whole new family along with new daughters she felt as if she would always be replaceable. Enter Bowe who not so lucky with the ladies but is one fine specimen who tends to go shy around women that he like and he wants Angie with a passion. After a fortunate incident (in my book anyway) all bet are off and Bowe makes it his mission to get the girl and his HEA. This book is filled with so many high and lows that it leaves your head spinning, don't forget about the action, suspense and chemistry that melts the pages of your kindle with every word written. I love this series and will be sad to see it end, which I hope never happens.

Another great story to add to our wonderful collection of Lani Lynn Vale books. Bowe & Angie's story had just the perfect amount of drama and suspense. Let me not forget to mention the steaming hot love scenes. One that comes to my mind would have to be when Bowe cannot contain himself any longer and must have a piece of Angie ASAP! Never mind that they are at school, in a classroom, with other students outside passing by in the hall. But wait did I mention that Bowe is her teacher for said class! Yes, Bowe is the teacher and Angie is the student. Need to know more, than I recommend you buy the book ASAP! As always catching glimpses of some of our favorite previous story characters is the best. Even better is learning what has been happening with Fatbaby! Yes, we must all remember Fatbaby. If you do not know who he is then I highly recommend you read the entire Kilgore Fire series, trust me you will enjoy it!

5 out of 5 Hearts

Holy Crapcicles!!

Angie has had her share of heartbreak, being broken, and hurt. She doesn't want to go through any of that again. Walls go up pretty thick to protect one's heart.

Bowe is awesomely portrayed... humanistic, stubborn, talented, and has his sights set on Angie. It doesn't help that she won't give him the time of day other than being cordial in passing.

Very believable plot, unforgettable characters and realistic world. Full of raw emotion, stubbornness, determination, steam, unexpected twists that had me in tears, and wanting to throw my tablet across the room. The nerve of some people's children.

Lani Lynn Vale rocks it in this fifth Installment of her Kilgore Fire Series! 5 out of 5 Hearts is what I give this Hot, Steamy, and well written, enthralling read.

If you have read this series you already know who Bowen is and what he will do to make sure that his friends and those he cares about are protected at all costs. When Angie comes into his life he can not understand why she doesn't want him. Like come on he's a good catch right? What is wrong with him that a beautiful women wouldn't want him? Well for Angie it's not that she doesn't want him she does to much, it's that she has a 747 size worth a holy SH@$ that is in her back pocket that she can't seem to get rid of. For Angie all she wants to do is live her life in peace and take care of what she loves most in the world her baby. But when all that is threatened can she let Bowen help her? And will Bowen be there in time? I'm not sure what I will do if Lani Lynn Vale decides to stop writing all these stories. I will be crushed I live for them.

Wait till you get to meet Bowe. Goodness gracious, yummy!!!! He may not have had the luck in the past when it comes to women but when he meets Angie he knows. He knows that she's the one for him.

Angie is getting through life day by day working towards her goals and being the best mom she can be. Her dad's a work of art. I can't imagine the pain of how her dad is and I don't understand people that can treat their children like that. I wanted to smack the crap out of him.

These two have so much to deal with while trying to see if they can make a go of a relationship. Bowe has his work cut out for him. Angie is a strong woman and isn't a doormat, she'll make her voice be heard when needed. The chemistry between these two was smoking hot like always in a LLV book. This author continues to be a one-click author for me.

This is the fifth book in the “Kilgore Fire” series, and as with all of this authors books, I am never disappointed in her work. This is the story of Bowie and Angie who have a scorching hot chemistry between them. Having been hurt in the past, will Bowie get Angie to change her mind regarding relationships? You really need to read this fabulous series for yourself!!
