An quirky introduction to the town of Virtue Falls and four of its main characters as presented by a woman who hacks into text messages. The small plot is her discovery that two people are plotting a murder and she finds out she is the victim. The end of the novella is the beginning of Christina Dodd's latest romantic suspense thriller, Virtue Falls.

I am so disappointed and wonder where the rest of the story is. Thought It was a sample of the book and there was more to come but alas I guess that was it. Is it a teaser for Virtue Falls? confused.

I haven't read the 39 pages 'chapter' - you certainly cannot call it a book, but how they can expect us to pay $1.99 for 10 minutes worth of reading is absolutely outrageous. I used to read all of Christina Dodd's books and then they became just weird, stuff I wasn't interested in. I was going to give her another try and felt $1.99 was an okay price, but I am to disgusted with this short story that I'm going to pass. If they were charging $1.99 for every 40 pages her Virture Falls Kindle version - 448 pages would cost us $22.28 instead of what is currently priced at - $5.49.

Christina Dodd's writing is fast paced and witty and her characters are almost always interesting and a bit different than the norm for contemporary romance, it shows in this introduction to her new series. My only complaint is that it was to short and I was left wanting to know more about Cornelia, I hope that in "Virtual Falls" her next book we get to see how she is doing.

If you're going to read VIRTUE FALLS, I recommend buying THE LISTENER. This short subtle story of murder introduces us to the Oceanview Café and the town of Virtue Falls, Washington. The small town characters and tourists gather at the café to eat, greet, and gossip while setting the tone for the murder/suspense in the unusually lengthy VIRTUE FALLS.

Anyone who enjoyed The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time might also enjoy The Listener by Christina Dodd. Cornelia finds a way to compensate for not understanding the nuances of the spoken language and discovers a murder about to be comitted. She tries to follow protocal but is misunderstood. In the end, she must save the person herself. I enhoyed The Listener and highly recommend it.
