Faking It is another winner for Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde as they continue to co-write books. These two are among my favorite authors and are among the most talented writers in Romance Land. Combining their voices created a strong story, with characters that not only have compassion and empathy but also depth. I have to say that this book is equal parts dirty and sexy, with some extra fun thrown in, all which benefits by the combining of their voices.

I highly recommend this book to all readers. This book is definitely hot and sexy, but is also a story about two people who are were not looking for love but found it accidently. Becoming a fake engaged couple benefitted not only Hailey as she ran her matchmaking business but also for Max. Confirmed bachelor Max was being stalked by a woman who would not take no for an answer. Having Hailey on his arm was the perfect answer to deter this woman. Or was it? Can Hailey and Max overcome the lies to actually fall in love?

I truly cannot wait to see what to see what Carly and Erika have lined up next as they continue this co-authorship.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

When Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde team up to write a sexy, hot romance, I know I'll be picking it up to read. Faking It is the latest collaboration from this writing team and doesn't disappoint.

I loved the Max and Hailey fake engagement and seeing it become more than each expected. With moments of heat and sweetness, this pairing has become one of my favorites.

Max Sterling... how I have waited for you! And man, was the wait so worth it!

Max is the super star of luxury high end real estate in Chicago. Hailey is the super star of matchmaking. The two meet when Hailey is looking for a bigger and better piece of property to relocate her operation. She's been very specific on what she wants, and the more time Max and Hailey spend together the more they are attracted to each other. Still, Max won't make a move because Hailey is spoken for. The engagement ring on her hand proves it. Or does it? She may be a sucessful matchmaker for others but Hailey has yet to find the one for herself. While she may have eyes for Max, she knows that she can could never have someone like him. The ring is only a shield... but it's one that gets her caught in a rather big white lie - with Max playing the role of fiance.

Max, of course, is intrigued and comes to her rescue. But then rescue comes with a price. He'll play along and be Hailey's fake fiance but she's going to help him get rid a nuisance in the form of a former lover. Let the games, the boiling hot chemistry and fun times with these two begin. These two made this read fun! Max knows he has to earn Hailey and that she has insecurities from past relationships that she has to face. When Max and Hailey fell for each other, it was fantastic to watch! This relationship may have started as a fake but end up being very real. I just loved it!

Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde are one dynamic duo! Their stories get better with each release. So steamy, so fun! Now to wait ever so patiently for the next story. Great job, ladies!

This week has been filled with my favorite co-author duos and just like the last book I read with two amazing authors and one book, this one did not let me down. I am super excited to dig into the ARC copy of the third book Well Built. Which comes out July 25th!!

If you're a follower of my my reviews you will know that I love LOVE love fake relationship type books. This one was a little different as their fake relationship is to others but even before they really agree they are already all over each other.

Hailey has a past that she rather forget but when it comes to relationships and sex she is unable to forget her college years. She used to be bigger and still in her head feels like she is not the woman attractive men will want. So even though she is definitely turned on my Max she can not believe a guy like him would want someone like her.

Max comes from money and has a sweet family but a horrible "ex" that won't leave him alone. So when he finds out Hailey is single and also needs a fake fiance, they come up with a plan to have her be his as well to get that annoying stuck up "ex" out of his hair for good.

Along the way these two fall hard for each other and gain confidence in their own ways. I always enjoy a book that has the main female not be a stick thing not curvy girl and of course the guy being a drop dead sexy man who has a sweet and kind heart.

This is such a wonderful serious and I can not wait to start the third book now!

When Carly and Erika get together you know you're about to get a stellar story and an amazing book boyfriend to drool over. Faking It is exactly that and then some. Max and Hailey are a phenomenal couple that you can't help but fall in love with. The attraction between the two causes sparks to fly off the pages and all the dirty talk melts e-readers with its hotness.

Hailey is a strong, independent women that runs her business with class and style. Her only problem is the way she feels about her looks. So when she started her business she told a little white lie. What's one little lie when no harm is being done, unless the person you used with your lie finds out and turns the tables on you.

When Max turns his attentions to you, it will be like nothing you've ever felt before. It's all encompassing, ultra steamy, and a whole lot of naughtiness. Panties down't stand a chance against is mega sexy smile and passionate kisses. He's the kind of guy that takes your breathe away not just with his looks, but always with all the little things he does that make you feel like you're the most important person in the world.

Max and Hailey are alluring, caring, lovable, and everything dirty. Their relationship started with helping each other through a few sticky situations but it quickly turned into something more, something deeper, something stronger.

I really loved Faking It and didn't want to let this couple go. I loved getting captivated with this love story. Carly and Erika filled this story with heart and soul that will have you swooning before you even realize it.

I highly recommend you pick up Faking It and fall in love with Max and Hailey today.

It's official Max Sterling, of "Faking It", is the swoony-est hero in Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde's Book Boyfriend series! "Faking It" is the stand-alone second installment in the Book Boyfriend series. The series revolves around the four friends, and partners, of Premier Realty. Max's a flirty and charming, confirmed bachelor; at least until he met Hailey Ellison. She's testing his resolve. For the past three months he's been helping Hailey Ellison try to find the perfect property for her matchmaking business. Max's been attracted to her almost since the beginning. As a gentleman, he's convinced he's going to Hell since he's lusting after an engaged woman. Hailey's been wildly attracted to Max but doesn't believe he thinks of her as anything more than a client. She's riddled with body image insecurities since she grew up equating that Food = Love. She had a terrible weight problem until college.
Hailey's first sexual experience caused her to have massive body insecurities. This causes her to sabotage all of her romantic relationships just before they get physical. Her engagement ring isn't because she has a fiancé, but for business purposes. Who wants to go to a matchmaker who can't find herself a man? She inadvertently put Max into the friend-zone before they had a chance. Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde create a fabulous world filled with intriguing and delightful characters. The storyline is engaging, sweet, and sexy. Max's a caretaker, a sexy Beta, my favorite! But his fierce protectiveness of Hailey puts him in the Alpha-zone as well. I love Hailey! I guess I identify with her, she's facing her weight insecurities and attempting to move outside of her comfort zone. The pacing's lively and the plot's fun, romantic and steamy which making it a fantastic read.
What makes "Faking It" so good is the Hero; Max's incredibly thoughtful and sweet but with a definite naughty streak. The perfect Beta Hero; he's growly protective, growly possessive, and growly horny. Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde have Hailey perfectly balanced by not having her completely dwelling on her body image issues. Hailey and Max are fun and flirty plus they have amazing chemistry and marvelous sexual tension. Max's family is great and as usual the Premier Realty gang are entertaining and liven up the secondary character terrain. I'm a sucker for the "Fake Fiancé Trope" and "Faking It" absolutely hits the spot! This Book Boyfriend series is a winner and I'm sticking with it.

There is no faking it about it, Carly Phillips & Erika Wilde co-wrote one sizzling, smoking, and sexy contemporary romance that will leave readers craving and swooning for more of Max Sterling.

"The man who’d been the epitome of an honorable gentleman the past three months was no longer courteous and well-mannered, as he effortlessly stripped away her ability to resist him with a bold kiss that made her melt deep inside.”

Faking It was a light, fun, sexy romance that was a mixture of passion, steam, and sweetness. I absolutely adored this story since the authors wrote a story about a big beautiful heroine and her journey of finding confidence and love. It was refreshing to finally read a story where the heroine is not a size zero, two, or four but a real ordinary woman who has curves.

Hailey Ellison is a professional matchmaker. Her matchmaking business is garnering lots of clients and love connections. Everything in her life is great except the fact that her love life is non-existent. Hailey can pair people up but for some reason, she can’t match herself to the right guy. So as professional matchmaker, she knew it would make no sense if she is finding love for others and can’t find love herself and so she decides to make up a fake fiance. So when one of her client’s mother accidentally runs into Hailey and her real estate agent broker, Max Sterling, Hailey’s big lie of being engaged could be ruined especially when she told her client’s mother that her fiance’s name is Max Sterling.

So what does Max do? Well, he goes along with the charade. And why is that? Well, for one, Max finds Hailey very attractive and he can’t stop thinking of her. And secondly, he figures Hailey can also help him from having his mother meddle in his love life. They both agree the fake engagement would be temporary. But what happens when Max tries to get Hailey out of her comfort zone and shows her how beautiful and sexy she is? Will Hailey be finding herself wanting this engagement to be real?

As I said earlier, Faking It was a fun, sexy, cute romance. Readers will adore this love story because Max and Hailey are a couple that you will easily fall in love with. Their connection is real, honest, palpable and sweet. And you gotta love a hero who brings out the confidence in Hailey and shows her that her body is indeed a wonderland. So if you are looking for a romance that blends heat and heart then I highly recommend you to read Faking It.

A fake relationship never was more HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEW......Carly and Erika sure no how to give us a heart stopping, panty melting read!!!

I am never never never disappointed with a book by these two. I am always left with my heart feeling like it's beating out of my chest and I LOVE IT!!!! Max Sterling is NO EXCEPTION!! Max, definitely will have your panties wet and swooning. He is deliciously sexy and will have you falling in love with him from the beginning.

Max Sterling, is a successful real estate mogul, who loves his job. His family all are into the lawyer careers but he just wasn't into it. He loved real estate and has built his career to a high. Never has he wanted to start anything with a client until Hailey Ellison walks into his life. It takes all resolve to not throw her up against the wall and take what he wants....but he vows to not do that because he has never done the one thing that would lead to him having to do with little Hailey and that's "take another man's woman." Or so he thinks she is ;)

Hailey, is a relationship matchmaker. She has started her own business and is in need of some new property that she can grow her business and Max is just the guy to do that but she also wants more from him but he never shows desire for her.... or so she thinks. She has had a bad relationship in the past that left her very self conscious of herself and how she looks. Her ex ruined any hope she has for finding love by just a few simple words that shattered her completely so it's with these thoughts and feelings she places an engagement ring on her finger to keep all men away but after being with Max she wants nothing else but for that ring to be real....with him.

Max's resolve is tested the more and more he is around Hailey. She is everything he wants but that ring stops his movements from moving forward but all that stops when one secret is revealed and leaves Hailey more vulnerable but in comes Max.....getting answers and getting what he wants.

Faking It was fun, sexy, hilarious and HOT!!! These two and their banter have you laughing so hard and swooning at the same time. Their chemistry is off the charts and leaves you reading and reading until the end. You simply can't put this book down. Max shows us that not all men want the same thing-- some want more and Hailey is Max's more. The more time he spends with her the more he wants.

This book is a 5 star must read!!!!!!!!!!!

Hailey Ellison, 26, owns the Ellison Agency, a professional matchmaking company for the wealthy and affluent with a 90% success rate after four years in business. She’s now looking to expand her company and move into a bigger building. Even with her success rate, she is not so successful in her personal relationships with men. She has self-esteem issues surrounding her size 14 figure. A total douche in college took her virginity then texted her ending the relationship by saying he wasn’t in to fat chicks. Since then she has broken off any relationship that reaches the time to get naked part. She concocts a fake fiancé so she can take a break from the dating scene without losing face with her clients.

Max Sterling is a luxury real estate broker in Chicago. He is 30 and happy with his status as a bachelor. He comes from a supportive, close-knit family and is the youngest of three siblings. His brother and sister are happily married with kids.

Max has been Hailey’s broker for three months. He has been attracted to her but because of her engagement status hasn’t acted on it. When Max discovers it’s fake, and she’s used him as the example for her fiancé, he decides to take advantage of it. He wants to see where his attraction to Hailey could go and get rid of an annoying woman who won’t take the hint he’s not interested.

Max is swoon worthy. He is a little alpha, charming, sensual, seductive, funny, kind and caring. He realizes what Hailey needs to feel secure - in her self body image and his feelings for her - and sets it all in motion. He gets that she has to process it all before deciding on a course of action. He is patient, never rushing her or pushing past her comfort zone.

I liked all the supporting characters, Brielle, Hailey’s best friend, Max’s friends and family. And I LOVED that Hailey was curvy and not a model thin bag of bones!

Allison Brooks is evil and vile and should be burned at the stake. What a horrible woman.

My favorite line in the entire book:
“If his penis had the ability, it would have yawned from boredom.” Lol

It was so much fun watching Max and Hailey get to know each other and fit into each other‘s world. I want more of this couple and their friends and family. I can’t wait for the next installment!

The writing team of Carly Phillips and Erike Wilde are favorites of mine, and books like this one are the reason. The characters are always compelling, the story lines are interesting and you are always engaged from the beginning. They move quickly, but not so quickly that you feel like you are missing parts of the story, but quickly enough that you get right to the good stuff. Which in this case was an elevator ride I would like to take with Max. OMG...that scene...I love the emotion of it, the sheer idea that he was Not. Able. To. Resist. her for even long enough to find out what was going on, sheer perfection.

Max and Hailey were so fun. I loved that you know, from the beginning, that he wants her, but is respecting the fact that he thinks she is engaged. This gives such a great depth to his character, and lets you know really from the beginning that he is in this for the long haul. He tells you this, and her, and due to some things in her past, it takes her a while to open up to him fully. And, the writing and the pacing are strong enough that this is ok, that you stay engaged with their story even though it is technically a slow burn working it's way up to a full physical relationship.

I love that Hailey is not a traditional heroine...but I also loved that this was not an issue or a focus. Real women come in sizes other than 0 and with all sorts of different hair colors and body types...kudos for letting her be real and for letting Max see only a woman he wants.

The story itself was a little predictable, but in the way that a romance novel is. There will be a meeting, chemistry, some hot sexy times, and a happily ever after. It is the getting there, the characters, and their interactions, their personalities and the fact that they feel like people you get to know through the story.

And, have I mentioned that kiss? Because, well, that kiss.

I recommend this book.

Just like all the books these two ladies write, Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde find swoon worthy men and their sexy, smart beautiful women and bring them together…….

Hailey Ellison is in the matchmaking business and while she has a great success rate for bring her clients together, she has not been as lucky to find her own match. Her insecurities come from her childhood and college experiences. She has taken to wearing an engagement ring to keep her male clients from hitting on her. Now she needs to find a larger place to hold the business, have conference rooms, large room for mixers for her clients to meet their potential match and an apartment for her. She hires Max Sterling to help her in the hunt for the “perfect building”.

Max Sterling real estate agent extraordinaire has found place for Hailey to look at but so far has not been able to find the “perfect building”. While they have been looking for three months, Max feels an attraction for Hailey and he believes she does to but because she is wearing an engagement ring he doesn’t pursue or put pressure on her. A client of Max’s calls and tell him wants to put his building on the market but want to have a quick sale as he is getting divorced. Max knows that this is the “perfect building” for Hailey.

After showing Hailey the building, she knows it’s the one and they decide to go out for a celebration lunch, but when leaving they run into the mother of one of her clients who she told a little white lie to about her “fake” fiancé (aka she used Max as her model) and the truth comes out about the engagement ring. Max decides to play along for reasons of his own and now it gets interesting…..

Lots of flirty, sexy banter, little white lies and an attraction between them that is swoon worthy but will Hailey let down her guard and let Max show her that she is a smart, sexy, beautiful woman who deserves love and a HEA or will she push him away because of her insecurities????

***5 ‘ Are You Ready to Beg’ Stars***

I always get excited to dive into a Carly Phillips & Erika Wilde book. They are always filled with sweet and smexy moments, a good dose of humor and lots of heart, but holy h^ll, this one is my favorite by far! This one just hit all the right spots *BSEG* from the start and pulled out all those feels.

Max. That man and believe me when I say he is all man, is just OMG total book boyfriend. He’s all kinds of wicked dirty alpha male but with a laid back vibe that pulls you in. He’s gentle, compassionate and protective and when he sees something he wants, he goes all in.

I simply got Hailey. There were so many issues she had that I could empathize with as well as how she dealt, or didn’t deal with them, and while my heart bled for her, it also cheered for her. She’s sweet, sassy and highly intelligent and driven. She has built a business from the ground up and has prospered which told me that she had the strength to overcome her demons.

Their fake engagement to lovers story had me all kinds of swoony and twitterpated, as well as needing an arctic temp bath! Max and Hailey together simply worked for me. They brought out the best in each other and made the other stronger for it. I loved their flirting, but also loved how open and honest they were with each other. Max letting Hailey take the lead while still being in charge was HOT! Their journey wasn’t drama free, but it was handled well and I loved how it ended up bringing them together.

So to reiterate...This is my favorite book and couple of theirs thus far (Yes, I’m leaving some wiggle room in there). It brought out all the feel, had me turning the pages to see what would happen next and feeling just a little put out at the end because I couldn’t spend more time with Max and Hailey, but there are more Book Boyfriends to come so hopefully we’ll be getting a few updates then!

Get ready to FALL HARD ladies because Max Sterling is EVERYTHING!

Whether writing together or separate, these two authors never fail to bring the HEAT and the EMOTION to every book they release! I was completely DAZZLED and CONSUMED by Max and Hailey. From Max’s easy and charming banter to Hailey’s coy, yet driven nature, these two were in for one hell of a ride. They never stood a chance.

“Come on, sweet girl,” he cajoled, her lips less than an inch away from his. “You know you want me to kiss you again. All you have to do is say yes…”

The engagement ring on her finger might stop Max from pursuing Hailey, but it will not temper the dirty thoughts he has running through his mind at the very sight of her. But when he finds out her secret, ALL BETS ARE OFF. There is some claiming to do, and he is just the man for the job. Deciding on a proposition that will be in both of their favor, this fake engagement can only go on for so long. It’s an excuse to get close to her, so he will take it. Marriage, kids, and a white picket fence, aren’t things that Max Sterling ever had in mind as a possibility, but spending time with Hailey Ellison as her “fiancé” gave him a glimpse of something that could be really special, if he would just let it. He would also need to convince Hailey of that fact and her insecurities will end up being their worst enemy. Max Sterling is a determined man and he will stop at nothing to chase away her doubts – one kiss and one touch at a time.

“Don’t worry, sweet girl, I know exactly what to do to make your body purr.”

Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde are a match made in heaven when it comes to writing contemporary romance. FAKING IT is just another example of that. Believe me when I say, you will fall HARD for Max and Hailey. You will adore them, root for them, and fall hard for them. Phillips and Wilde gives us another romance that will make you feel great, inside and out.

Every now and then, it's extremely refreshing to come across a story that is just so sweet and swoon-worthy that your heart just melts and by the end of the story you're just a ball of warm, loving goo.

That is what Faking It did for me. I don't alway need my Hero to be redeemed or changed. Sometimes you just want the guy to be a good guy from the start and Max Sterling was all that and more. A complete and total gentlemen with a big heart, Max Sterling had me swooning and ready to rip my panties right off the bat.

Gosh, he was so damn sexy. The way he was with Hailey, I couldn't help but get jealous. The way he calmed her fears and insecurities just had me gushing. It's been so long since I've melted so easily for the characters in a story and Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde gave me the perfect reason to do just that.

Hailey ran a successful matchmaking business and Max was the agent helping her locate the perfect locale for expanding her office space. In the span of just a few months, they've quietly lusted after each other and remained respectful and professional when they were around each other. But that all changes when he finds out she's available. From there, he's totally up for taking the fake fiance role to the next level and she's completely on board.

In getting to know each other, the grow much closer and Hailey trusts him with her reasons for the charade and by revealing the insecurities she's lived with since she was young. And he takes it on as his duty to protect her and change that by doing everything in his power to make her feel sexy.

Gah, that man. Gets me damp just thinking about him again. He was a total gentleman on the streets and a total beast in the sheets. Oooh, I get shivers just remembering it all.

Title: Faking It
Author: Carly Phillips & Erika Wilde

4 unexpected stars

It's the second time that i read a collaborated book by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde and when they start a story, there's nothing for you to do but get right in there and keep reading until there's nothing left but the last page. It's the kind of story that will make you want to read faster and faster, but at the same time want to savour how the characters make you feel. So it's no wonder that when you have the story about a successful matchmaker who is faking an engagement so that her clients don't get too curious as to how she can match others but can't find anyone for herself and the confirmed realtor bachelor who is lusting after his client makes for a story that catches your eye.

4.5 sexy dreams

It was an adorable story that makes any woman feel good about themselves. More and more there are novels where the main female character is curvier while the male counterparts are the epitome of fit and sexy as all heck, which is what Hailey and Max are; i though it an adorable story. One that captivated me and gave me the butterfly happy feelings as i read along. I enjoyed how Max was more than patient with Hailey with all her misgivings, especially considering her past. It's the type of story that makes you want to read more from this duo to find out what else they can come up with, and that's exactly what i'll be doing because i know there's so much more that they can offer and make their readers want to ask for more.

Hailey Ellison runs her own successful matchmaking business. Due to the recent growth of her business, she’s in looking for new office space and is extremely particular about the space she’s looking for. She’ll know it’s the one when she sees it!

Max Sterling to the rescue! Max is Hailey’s real estate agent and while he knows exactly what Hailey is looking for, he cannot help but be enamored by her. However, there’s a big ol’ ring she’s rocking on her left hand and he’ll be nothing more than professional with her.

After a few months of touring property after property, Max finally show Hailey the space she’s been looking for from the start. While out celebrating their big accomplishment, the mother of a former client of Hailey’s exposes her secret she’s been keeping. Max, realizing what is really going on, steps in and helps her out. However, now that he knows what Hailey is really up to, he’s more than happy to play along in her little charade but definitely for his own benefit.

I love this story. Max is so patient and understanding, he absolutely melted my heart. I was completely smitten with Hailey. A successful woman who has insecurities like we all do, with a gorgeous, intelligent and sexy man falling at her feet? Yes, please! Hailey took a while to warm up to Max with all of the issues she had about herself, but it made me love her even more.

Can Hailey and Max work through all her insecurities? Can they keep faking something that is turning out to be so very real? Will Hailey get past her insecurities and let Max love her for who she really is? Will Max get everything he never thought he wanted?

I enjoyed this book tremendously. I first read Carly and Erika’s Big Shot and loved it!! These ladies know how to write a smoking hot love story and Faking It is just as good, if not better, than Big Shot!! I cannot wait for the next book!

What happens when you are a successful matchmaker, yet you are single? Why, you invent a fake fiancee, of course. But what happens when you make your imaginary fiancee your current realtor, and he finds out? Well, if you are Max and Hailey, you just go with it!
Hailey wants her clients to believe that she too, has found her true love, so that they trust that she can help them find theirs. Max is trying to escape the clutches of a vapid narcissist that his mother has set him up with, and doesn't quite understand that he is about as interested in her as he is in getting an STD.
Unfortunately, Hailey is a self-saboteur when it comes to relationships, especially after a disastrous break-up that has left her fragile self-esteem in the toilet. It also doesn't help that despite her full frame, Hailey still sees herself as fat.
Max has been attracted to his client since he first laid eyes on her, but because she was wearing an engagement ring, he kept things professional. When her lie comes to light, Max is all for playing the part of her fiancee, especially if it comes with the benefits of an actual fiancee. But Max understands that Hailey spooks easily, and is kind, gentle and above all, patient with her. But will Hailey's insecurities ruin the best thing to ever happen to her?
I LOVED this book! I think the world needs more men like Max. Rich, successful, handsome and just a genuinely nice guy. Hailey's past makes her a very relatable character, and you understand her neuroses.
This was a well written, funny book. My only complaint was that the ending felt rushed, and I would have liked to see more of a smack in the face ending to the vapid narcissist.
I also enjoyed catching up with the rest of Premiere Realty crew, and I'm hoping that Ms. Phillips continues writing about these characters!

Okay, I'm pretty sure that Carly Phillps and Erika Wilde are going to have to work really hard to write another guy that I adore as much as Max Sterling. This man. This hot, sexy, pretty near perfect man, is the kind of man that we all wish we could find. He's the reason that we read romance novels. Because, not only is he successful and good looking. Those things are a bonus, but they're not the things. No, the thing about Max is how freaking perfect he is with Hailey, how careful he is to make sure that she knows that she is perfect, just the way she is.

One of the things that makes a book a winner for me is a storyline that resonates with me, and FAKING IT hit it out of the park in that regard. There are more than a few of us out there that can relate to Hailey and the relationship trials that she's encountered. She's worked hard not to be defined by the things that have held her back in the past, but there's that one area, that one thing, that keeps Hailey from feeling completely free. Enter Max, with his big heart, his understanding ways, and his passion. And, oh, my goodness, this man is not taking no for an answer. Once he's set his mind to something, it's all systems go, and Max's mind is set on Hailey.

Carly and Erika are extremely gifted at crafting stories that make us feel good, and they've brought their A-game with FAKING IT. I loved every minute, every encounter, every sizzling interaction, between Max and Hailey. I enjoyed it because they were having such a great time. Throw in the lovable family and friends, folks that we know from previous books, and it makes for just the sort of read that guarantees that I'll finish up and put it down with a smile on my face. An easy 4.5 stars, FAKING IT is a book that I happily recommend. If you're looking for a contemporary romance that you'll enjoy the heck out of, grab it and add it to your TBR.

"She wanted him to pretend they were in love, that he was the man who adored her?
Challenge accepted. Buckle up and get ready for a wild ride, baby."

Yes! YES! Yasssssssssss!!

I was so excited for this book!!!

Hailey Ellison lived her life as a Class-A matchmaker, but in her own life, love didn't come so easily.
So when she finds herself in a pickle, she turns to the one man who has been on her mind for months.

Max Sterling was only supposed to be finding her the office/apartment of her dreams.
But he ended up becoming the man of her dreams instead.
The woman who has turned his world upside down is now giving him an opportunity he can't refuse.

"I never thought it would come to this."
"Ahhh, but it did come to this. The big question is, what are we going to do about it?"

In true Carly & Erika fashion, this story was sweet and sassy while it was also hot and sexy!
With so much heart thrown in the mix.

Hailey and Max are so drawn to each other, but I love that they took things slow at first. Despite what Max wanted to do;)
The way he was with Hailey was so darn sexy it just oozed off the pages!

"Are you ready to beg, sweet girl?"

Even though their relationship was meant to be a fake one, their chemistry couldn't be denied.
No matter how much they tried to hold back their true feelings, it couldn't be contained.

I love the back and forth between them.
The push and pull.
The desire unfolding.

I couldn't get enough of these two!!!

Thank you again, Carly & Erika for giving us such fun characters!!
I can't wait for the next one!!

"How do you want me?"
"Every way I can have you."

Faking It is another great read by authors Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. This book is a perfect light, fun and sexy read that will have you swooning over the Hero and watching the Heroine grow and gain confidence in herself.

Hailey Ellison is a professional matchmaker with a booming business. Growing her business has been Hailey's sole focus for the last few years and has had little to no time (or desire) to allow anything else in. So much so that she has faked an engagement to a man that doesn't exist...

...Or does he.

With a continually growing clientele base and a need for more office space, Hailey contacts confirmed bachelor and real estate broker Max Sterling. After 3 months of searching, Max finally feels that he has found Hailey her perfect space. After having a celebratory lunch with Hailey, Max learns that the woman he has been wildly attracted to for the last 3 months isn't engaged to another man like he thought...

... she is engaged to him. He just didn't know it.

When running into a former matches mother, Hailey is forced to explain how she "faked" her engagement to a "Max Sterling" so she could focus on work. And Max takes full advantage of this fact. Max needs help with an ex that doesn't seem to understand the word NO and Hailey doesn't want word to get out to her clients that she faked her engagement and lose credibility. Both agree that their engagement will be temporary.

But what happens when a fake engagement leads to real feelings? Will Max be able to convince Hailey to take a chance on real love? And will Hailey learn to trust in herself enough to left Max in?

Rating: 4 out of 5

Faking It by N.Y. Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carly Phillips and USA Today Bestselling Author Erika Wilde is a Romantic Comedy

Hailey is a matchmaker who has been crushing on her devastatingly gorgeous real estate agent Max ever since she met him 3 months ago. Hailey can only fantasize about Max, as he's way out of her league. Besides, Max has always been professional and never shown any interest in her. It doesn't help that Hailey wears an engagement ring as a ruse to prevent clients from asking her out. Max hasn't been able to stop thinking about the pretty and curvy Hailey ever since he first met her, but he isn't the type to go after engaged women. When Max finds out that there's no man in Hailey's life, he's ecstatic. Max is intrigued and fascinated by the sweet and easy going Hailey, who's like a breath of fresh air compared to the high maintenance women he's used to. But Max knows that Hailey's skittish, so he suggests a fake engagement with benefits. Being engaged would mean Max's matchmaking mother and his mother's friend's stalker daughter would stop bugging him. It doesn't take Max long to lose his heart to the fun and lovable Hailey. Hailey has always let her insecurities sabotage her relationships, will Hailey think her relationship with Max is worth risking her heart?

Faking It has humour, flirty banter, sweet romance and the intense chemistry between the hero and heroine is super hot! The highly talented Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde have teamed up to create a laugh out loud story with fun and lovable characters that was so much fun to read that I read the book in one go. This book is a must read!

These two authors are very quickly becoming favorites of mine. Every single thing they write, I love. And I don't mean I love a little bit, nope I love it a lot. To the point I stalk their Facebook pages just to see what they have coming next, together or separately. Their books are books I read over and over again because yes they are that good. This one is a little different in the sense of technically there is only one actual sex scene. Don't get me wrong there are still plenty of moments where you are fanning yourself and drinking some cold water. Max is seriously HOT both in his physical aspects but also in his attitude and how he treats Hailey. I love this pairing so much! Hailey has major insecurities with her body and Max does everything he can to show her that she is perfect to him. He wants her for her and not some skinny b**ch ((cough cough...Addison)) How they started with being "fake engaged" is great, but you know quickly that Max wants them to be in a real relationship and again he does everything he can to make Hailey see she does deserve a man like him. He wants her to see herself through his eyes and see that all the imperfections that she sees is what makes her beautiful in his eyes. Yes this is just a book, but so many people out there are like Hailey and we need more Max's in the world to show them how beautiful they are imperfections and all. Once again, I am blown away by these two fantastic authors!! Can't wait for Kyle's book next!!

Well what can I say.. another hit for Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. I think one of my favorite books ever actually.

Hailey owns a successful matchmaking business. Max a hotshot real estate mogul.

Due to the rapid growth of Hailey's business she enlists Max to look for a new property for her. They felt an immediate attraction but Max, being a stand up guy doesn't act on the attraction due to the ring on Hailey's left hand. He assumes she's engaged. After months of searching and getting to know each other, Max finds the perfect property for Hailey, it's everything she wanted and more. While the two are out celebrating the success of signing they run into a friend of Hailey who assumes that Max is her fiancé. After months of telling her friends and clients that her fiancé is always to busy to attend any functions with her because of his job, the friend is much excited to finally meet the mysterious Max and after catching on to the situation, Max does not give Hailey's secret away but plays along.

After learning that Hailey has made up her fiancé and Max is that guy, they make a deal, he pretends to be her fiancé at an upcoming function to save Hailey the embarrassment of having to explain things. Max is more than happy to accept the deal as he has been attracted to Hailey since the beginning and now that he knows the ring is fake he intends to act on that attraction. Hailey believes a man like max could never really be interested in her because she isn't perfect, she fights with her insecurities over her weight all the time. Max proves over and over again that he thinks she is the perfect person for him and does all he can to show her how beautiful and attractive she is.

Enjoy the journey as Max proves to Hailey that having the perfect body does not make a person perfect. We all are perfect in our own way. I love how Carly and Erika wrote this story and it shows the insecurities many fight daily in thinking they are not enough or inadequate in some way. I couldn't put it down and wish it would have been longer, because I enjoyed Hailey and Max so much!

Don't miss this one if you are a Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde fan, you truly won't be disappointed!!!

I was given this book in advance for an early review.

I can always count on Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde to provide just the right amount of heat and drama to make a book entertaining. Faking It is their latest collaboration, and it is replete with interesting characters, clever banter and some very hot sex scenes.

Hailey Ellison is a professional matchmaker on the verge of expanding her very successful business. Since her love life is virtually nonexistent, she pretends to be engaged so that her clients have the utmost confidence in her skills to find them the perfect match. Since she sort of daydreams about Max Sterling, her very competent and handsome realtor, she uses his name if asked about her fiancee. Naturally she gets caught in her lie, as she and Max are exiting a restaurant together. As Hailey stumbles with her words, Max comes to her rescue and assumes the fake fiancee role. As a result, their business relationship evolves into a hot, passionate affair. Overtime they fall in love, however, Hailey's insecurities and Max's quasi-stalker, may prevent them from having a future together.

To begin with, the book cover is hot and the first chapter is wonderfully executed and enlightening. Secondly, Hailey and Max are extremely likable characters and I enjoyed their attraction both in and out of the bedroom. Unfortunately, as much as I enjoy the "relationship of convenience" genre, I found this rendering to be so-so.

This is book #2 in the Book Boyfriend series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. I recommend reading this series in order.

Hailey is saved by Max when a nosy busybody interferes in her life. The consequences of the save, however, means they must play along for a time. Hailey is attracted to Max for real. Could this be a love match?

Max has wanted Hailey for himself for some time. Playing her missing man is easy when he wants to put his hands on her. It gets more complicated as time goes on, but Max has started thinking that the future may need to be different than he thought.

This book has a lot of humor, heat, and heart. I love that the characters are honest with one another. Well, as much as they can be. This was a sexy and fun read.

Max and Hailey... I'm telling you... Carly and Erika hit this one out of the PARK! Normally when I get a book that is co-written by two separate authors, I start off a bit hesitant overall. Will the book flow? Will I be able to tell when one author is writing and then switches to the other? This book just blew my expectations away! Pun intended. ;)

I loved and adored Hailey's character. She is so REAL and normal that you cannot help but be truly taken with her throughout the entire book. She is a successful business woman in Chicago, has worked hard to get where she is at work AND in her personal life. She has lost over 70 pounds and still struggles with insecurities each day. This was so relatable to me. I found myself so draw to her, and in many different scenes thought "ME TOO!" when she would get self conscious about stuff.

And Max... ohhh Max. What a man. He finds out the truth about Hailey's relationship status and decides that he is finally going to go after what he wants. He will be as patient and caring as needed to prove to Hailey that he is a perfect fit for him... even if it means posing as his fake fiancé!

This book was just fantastic, I cannot say it enough! I stayed up wayyy too late and woke up wayyy to early each morning trying make more time to read it straight to the end. Loved this book and cannot wait to see what Carly and Erika have in store next! <3

This dynamic duo has brought us another fun and sexy romance. This time in the form of a fake engagement that both Hailey and Max needed. The plot of their story followed the typical formula for this type of trope, except there was much less angst and inner turmoil surrounding the uncertainty of their feelings for each other. Hailey and Max were real and raw. They were honest about their feelings and expectations. Having met on a professional level under the guise that Hailey was already engaged, she and Max were able to build somewhat of a friendship. So when this opportunity arose to help each other out, it was natural. Not to mention a welcome relief to them both since they were able to act on months of pent-up sexual frustration. And that first kiss...swoon!

Hailey and Max's flirty, sensual banter was fantastic as were the sweet and funny moments they shared. I loved how Max treated Hailey and how she was able to grow emotionally through his open adoration of her. I'm glad the authors didn't allow Hailey to dwell too much on her insecurities, so she was able to revel in the passion that radiated between her and Max. And, as always, these authors know how to bring the slow burning need to those passionate moments that have their readers begging for mercy.

Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde turn out fabulously sexy contemporary romances and Faking It is no exception.

Hailey Ellison is looking for that perfect piece of real estate to expand her matchmaking business. Max Sterling is the sexy as sin bachelor who has been working his tail off trying to find a property that will exceed all of her expectations. There s just one itty bitty snag. He thinks she is engaged — after all she HAS been wearing a big ol' engagement ring. And she may have been telling everyone she is in fact engaged when she is not! And the man she is supposedly engaged to — Max Sterling! And get this he ends up finding out! EEEK! Cue awkwardness. And... ummm... let's add in that they are both (secretly) incredibly attracted to each other!!! Now — cue FAKE engagement!

This book is sexy and sweet and a great book to just lose yourself in. You can just feel the chemistry and electricity between Max and Hailey. And what truly endeared them to me was that they felt real. Neither of them was perfect and they didn't try to be. They didn't see themselves as perfect... but they saw the OTHER as perfect for them. And isn't THAT what we are all looking for. I loved how I gobbled this story up.

I highly recommend this one — no faking about it!

I think the best way to describe what you will encounterin Faking It is a client/broker relationship that transforms to a fake engagement that ultimately leads to love. Now, I know you're saying that you have been there, done that with the fake engagement romances, but I felt that this was well written and the flow of the chemistry between Hailey Ellison (28) and Max Sterling (30) to be great.
Hailey has been a successful, professional matchmaker to the wealthy and affluent for the past 4 years and that success means her business is growing and she needs a bigger business space for Ellison Agency.  For the past 3 months, Max has been happy to assist her being the top notch real estate broker he is, he wants to help her find the perfect property that meets her very specific list. Even though, they exude a professional front to one another, they both are extremely attracted to one another. Except Hailey pretends to be engage to keep from being hurt as she has in the past and Max doesn't move on engaged women, he is a total nice guy. That is until Hailey finds herself in a bind with her 'fake engagement' and asks Max for his help. Will this fake relationship finally be what they need to make real moves on one another? Or will they keep their professional fronts and part ways without acting on their attraction?

Hailey Ellison was overweight in her teen years, and that has left her very scarred. Even when she lost 70lbs, her college boyfriends still did a number on her, so she keeps her heart guarded like it's the Pentagon. In order to keep men from trying to hit on her, she wears a fake engagement ring, as it doesn't hurt because she has a successful match making business that she would like to keep growing, because being single isn't helpful advertisement. Max Sterling is her realtor, and too hot for his own good. She has a strong attraction to him, but won't ever act on it as she believes he could do better than her. Max finds out the truth of her Faking It, and he realizes they could help each other out by keeping it going. I tried and tried to keep it as generic as possible because I didn't want to give anything away. The dynamic duo of Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde have done it again with an awesome story, as I devoured it in a matter of hours. There is well placed humor, and a look at a couple that I dearly love as well. Not to mention that the sexy scene goodness is STEAMY enough that all eye glasses will become fogged up. My one complaint was that it was too short, because I NEED MORE OF MAX AND HAILEY! At any rate, cannot wait for the next book in the series, and I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I love Max Sterling and you will too after reading this book! Carly Philips and Erika Wilde give us another amazing story.
Faking It was a fun and such an quick read, I couldn't put it down. It was fun, sexy and hot.
Hailey Ellison is a professional matchmaker and has found love for a lot of people, but can't seem to find her one.
Max Sterling is a realtor helping Hailey look for a more fitting place to move her business. And if it wasn't for the engagement ring she wears, the attraction between these two could be so much more.
I absolutely loved Hailey Ellison and I loved that she had the same insecurities as a lot of women do. But will these insecurities ruin her chance happiness?
Max Sterling had me from the beginning of the book, Max is funny, hot and has the alpha going on. And as patient as he is, he has his limits, will Hailey sabotage this relationship with her insecurities?
These two were made for each other, that much was obvious right from the beginning, but is any love story that easy?

This has got to be my favorite book from these two authors. I just loved that Max was patient and understanding of Hailey's insecurities, to me that made him so much more swoon worthy then any man I know.
I can't wait for what these ladies come out with next!

I have probably said this about each book by this duo as it is released, but I think this has to be my favourite book yet!

Max and Hailey meet when she is looking for a new location for her matchmaking business and he is her real estate agent. They are attracted to each other, which grows with each meeting to look at possible locations, but neither act on it - Hailey because of some deep-seated self-esteem issues, and Max because Hailey wears an engagement ring. It turns out Hailey invented a fake fiancee for a number of reasons... and gave him Max's name! For various reasons, Max goes along with the ruse when he accidentally finds out. Hilarity and sexiness ensue.

Max is seriously a dream! He is at the very top of my book boyfriend list (deposing someone I didn't think could be knocked off!) I really loved that Max and Hailey were friends first and didn't just jump into bed. I am not against insta-love, but for this couple the way their relationship progressed was perfect. I fell in love with them individually and as a couple and while I knew there would be a HEA, I was anxious until it came through.

I highly recommend this book! It is the second book in a series but can absolutely be read as a standalone.

Hailey Ellison is a Matchmaker in the Windy City of Chicago. She’s successfully been matching couples since she was in high school. Her business is thriving, so much so that she’s looking for new office space to expand.

Hailey’s been working with REALTOR® Max Sterling for the last three months. Max makes Hailey weak in the knees, yet is a confirmed bachelor. He has been the perfect gentleman since he noticed the diamond engagement ring on her hand. Max doesn’t know is that the ring is just for show. How could a highly successful Matchmaker not be matched herself?

On their way back to Max’s office after looking at space, they run into the mother of one of Hailey’s clients. Within that short conversation, Max becomes Hailey’s fake fiancé. What Hailey doesn’t understand is that Max is extremely tempted by Hailey, even when he thought she was going home to another man every night.

This fake engagement starts as a way for Hailey to save face, but quickly turns in to a sexy, humorous, serious turn of events. I love how Max finds a way to make Hailey believe in herself. This is a fantastic, sarcastic-filled, flirty book that would make anyone long for a Max of their very own. I know I am…

Another hit for Erika Wilde and Carly Phillips!

This was such a great, fast paced story, I was a bit surprised to realize I had finished it one sitting. Okay, the surprise was probably more that I forgot all about time and paltry things such as sleeping. lol

Max is wow... Max is about as panty melting sexy as a book bf can be. I was as bad as Hailey when it came to having a hard time breathing when he would give a certain look, or the corner of his mouth would tilt up in a pure Max grin. Pretty sure my clothes came off faster than Hailey's. lol

Super cute premise. Hailey is a match maker who hasn't had a relationship in years due to insecurities and Max is the real estate agent helping her find a new business location. She decided to use Max as her pretend fiance, but when reality bursts in, Max steps up. From that point on it was pure heat and desire. It was also fun to catch up with the others from the first book in this series and to get a little peek into the character for the next one. Another one I will be looking forward to!

While I did receive this an ARC of this book, my review is completely honest. It's rare that I read a book straight through like that, especially when I should be sleeping. lol

5 “Beg me for it” Stars

These two authors have become, by far, one of my favorite writing duos. If they write it, I will be reading it. Hailey is a professional matchmaker looking for a new place to move her quickly expanding business and Max is the realtor trying to find that perfect place for her. Pretending to be engaged has worked well for her so far, until an acquaintance sees her and Max and assumes he’s the fiancé. Not one to shy away from a challenge, Max goes along with it and he finds his opportunity to really get to know the woman he has been wanting the last three months and find out why she’s been faking an engagement.
This book is a quick, light read with lots of laughter, love and a whole lot of steamy sexy! Hailey is one of the best female characters I have read in a while. She’s smart, savvy and curvy. Her insecurities are endearing and I can totally relate to her in every way. Max…well, Max is the whole package. Tall, dark and gorgeous with a laid back attitude and a huge side of Alpha…especially in the bedroom! This man is total swoon worthy! Nothing like a fake engagement to finding true love!

Guarding her heart and sanity, Hailey a professional match maker by trade has yet to find the man that will love her for who she is, Shapely and all. To protect her reputation and abstain from men she wears a ring on her left hand, you know that ring. Now, she is the woman that is promised to another and untouchable.
Max Sterling, has known Hailey for 3 months and for those 3 months he has had to curb his desires for the beautiful and caring woman that she is. She is promised to another man and has to keep his longing from afar... or does he?
Lies, meant to protect her emotions that have been trampled and others from asking she names Max as her fiance, and so begins the domino affects that lead to their faking the engagement. It all starts with a ruse and an end date, but Max has other plans for his beautiful Hailey.
This story is a fun and sexy read with a heroin that is more than the perfect body that we read about the most. I felt her insecurities and her pride. I felt her fear, I felt her hesitation and most of all I felt her excitement. I love this story and hope for more of this series, I can't wait for the next book!

OMG..... Carly and Erika are #oneclick authors for me, and this story did not disappoint. What a story!

I laughed, cried and fell in love with these characters. I couldn’t wait to see where they went on their journey, but hated to see their story end.

Max was a SMOKIN HOT, SWOON WORTHY character, that I wanted to lick something fierce.

Hailey is a girl with body issues and self-esteem issues, which a lot of, if not all, women can relate to on some level.

Their journey was beautiful and breathtaking.

The storyline was strong, with no discrepancies. I loved how the secondary characters built in the strength of Max and Hailey. I also loved how the story wasn’t a rushed, unbelievably short timeline.

There was a timeline and a progression to their relationship.

I CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK AND READ BOOK 1!

Faking It is the second in the "Book Boyfriend" series. Book boyfriend is a really good name for this series because I know my list has just gotten longer. I thought I loved Wes from the first book, Big Shot, but I have to say, I think I loved Max even more! This is his and Hailey's story. We caught a brief glimpse of her in the first book. When done right, the fake engagement can be a fun read and this one was no exception.

As I said, I loved Max. His reaction to finding out that Hailey really wasn't engaged was so perfect! It was fun watching these two fall for each other. The way he helped Hailey realize that she was perfect, flawed body and all, was really sweet.

What I love about these is that each one can really be read as stand alone books. My only real complaint is that it was too short and I wanted more of the couple. I definitely recommend this one. It's a quick read and I will bet Max will make your ever growing book boyfriend list!

I love romance stories! And they lived Happily Ever After. They always leaving me feeling good.

I love Max Sterling! Did you know that Max Sterling is in Big Shot? Another book that was co-written by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. Oh, and Wes and Natalie are in this book as well they are from Big Shot as well. I didn’t make the connection until reading another person’s review. Faking It is a standalone so you don’t have to worry about reading Big Shot. Now speaking of these authors, they co-wrote Faking It seamlessly.

Faking It is of course Max Sterling (since I mentioned him already) and Hailey Ellison’s story. I know that she was very self- conscious of her body. She lost a lot of weight and since losing weight she still has body issues since now there is extra skin. I know how she feels. But, Max thinks she is beautiful just the way she is. And, I love Max for that. Oh, BTW Addison is a witch with a B instead of the w.

WOW...what an amazing book about a woman, Hailey, who has a few insecurities and the man, Max, who makes her realize that she is worth it.
A great story about two people who have an attraction towards each other & when the mother of a client of Hailey's confronts her in a restaurant with her realtor, Max, and assumes he is her fiancée the story begins. She doesn't have a fiancée or a boyfriend and when he plays along he gets to the root of why she said he was her fiancée. To her amazement he isn't mad and is willing to go along with her. What starts out as fake develops into something more that you don't want to miss out on reading.
What I really loved about this book is the swoon worthy Max who was patient & kind on top of being hot & sexy. Also in the beginning it was an attraction that turned to lust and then morphed into love. They took the time to get to know one another, trusting each other & finally his revelation that will make you swoon twice over....LOVED IT!!!!

I absolutely loved this story by Carly and Erika!!! This is the story of Hailey a matchmaking expert who has problems securing her own happily ever after. Max is her real estate agent who is happy to stay single and embrace the bachelor status. All of that changes when he meets Hailey. He believes that she is engaged...she uses the engaged status to keep men away and to guard her heart. One thing leads to another and the attraction they share for each other explodes and Max now has one goal in mind...to make Hailey his in every single way possible. Max definitely has his work cut out for him...Hailey has body image issues thanks to a jerk of an ex. He will show her that she is more than worth it. This was a great story and I really enjoyed their journey together.

I highly recommend this book to everyone...it was a fabulous story!!! I can't wait to see what they come out with next. Well done!!! Another 5 star read from the talented Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde!!

I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.
