Pance Prep Pearls 2nd Edition
Great customer service from the store when due to a logistical issue with the postal system a goodwill solution was proposed. Contents of book are markedly improved compared to the first edition.

I'm compelled to leave positive feedback in the face of all these negative reviews from people getting ripped off by 3rd-party sellers. I'm sorry that's happening to so many people. But just make sure you're actually buying from the store and you'll get the real thing. The negative reviews have nothing to do with the quality of the book - and people would be better served leaving negative feedback on the seller's marketplace and contacting the store directly, as I'm sure there's a policy that's being violated. Leaving negative feedback here will only mislead people into thinking this isn't a quality resource for students.

The book is amazing. People refer to it as the "PA Student Bible." I'm a current PA-S1, and a good portion of my classmates rely on this as a go-to resource for our exams (aside from CMDT, of course). The 1st edition of this book had 4.6 of 5 stars with several hundred reviews, and Mr. Williams has made some great improvements in this 2nd edition.

Buy from a trusted seller, and you won't have any regrets!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BOOK! There was never and probably won't ever be, a book this comprehensive, yet so clear and concise, and easy to read. The bolded terms are a huge added plus, which helped me through all of my exams through PA school and for my PANCE. I had the old version, which was perfect, but bought this one as well. A MUST HAVE FOR ANYONE IN PA SCHOOL. (And even med students!) There is no text that compares.
The Pearl (Unabrigded Cds) :: The Story of the Last Empress of China - Imperial Woman :: The Reconnection: Heal Others, Heal Yourself :: I Survived the Bombing of Pearl Harbor - 1941 (I Survived #4) :: and Mergers and Acquisitions - Leveraged Buyouts

Never commented before but this deserves RECOGNITION....Hands Down - the BEST! Changes from previous edition - makes the learning experience more streamline. I can't express enough it's relevancy in PA school and beyond.

Works well with school studies to recap before an exam. Doesn't have all the finer details that the professors ask for as well, but it has great core content that is great to refresh. I haven't actually used it for the PANCE yet, next year I plan to.

Have the 1st edition & used it during my entire time in PA school reorganizing my ppt slides and to study for PA school exams. I just bought 2nd edition as I start preparing for the PANCE. This will most likely be my main study tool along with some practice exams and other methods if I choose to do so. Excellent blueprint book for during school and after school as well. Format is just excellent and easy to consume. Bunch of ways to remember and it helped me understand a host of medical conditions as I struggled through PA school in the beginning trying to make sense of most patho, diagnostics, treatment etc. Very organized. Recommended to all classmates and now the word has passed on throughout my program.

I found this book extremely confusing. Information is inconsistently presented. Very common terms (eg hyperlipidemia) are explained when less familiar terms (eg poikilothermia) are not. The editing is sloppy, with frequent verb-noun/pronoun non-agreement. It needs to be proof read more carefully. Sometimes it seems as though information is condensed simply in order to fit it onto a page rather than to make understanding simpler. Italics, underlining, bolding, exclamation points and asterisks are used too frequently, variably and without apparent logic. Old terms are used (eg impotence, malignant hypertension). An example of confusing information is at the bottom of page 57. Discussion is about DeBakey Types I, II, and III or Stanford A and B, but the diagram illustrates A,B, and C. "Involves the hand and fingers to cold" is an example of poor English. I haven't even finished the first (cardiovascular) section, and I am quite irritated! Nice try, but could do better.

I purchased this book directly from the author's website, not from the store. It is a phenomenal book. I took PANCE in 2006 and PANRE in 2012. I just took PANRE last week. I felt overly prepared because of this book. I used to use O'Connell's review book, but this one far exceeds it. I also bought the question book from the same author, Dwayne A. Williams. With these 2 books I felt confident going into the exam. And I haven't worked in 4 years! Best review book ever!!!
