Upon finishing The Smallest Parts I knew that it was going to take time to process all my thoughts and emotions, because I felt it so deeply. It's an unforgettable portrait of human frailty and resilience, a beautiful, all-consuming story about love and loss. Amy Harmon is a master at tackling the complex human emotions of grief and pain, love and loyalty. Read the book. You will fall in love with Noah and Mercedes.

Some books just remain in your head, echoing with all your other thoughts long after you finish. The Smallest Part does just that.

The story of Mercedes, Noah, and Cora has been intricately woven going backwards and forwards through the years until it all ties up beautifully and I was happy to go along for the ride. Another great novel from Any Harmon!!!

I sporadically delve into this type of genre but when I do Amy Harmon seems to have my favorites. This was another winner. This was a page turner, the characters were well written and the story line a good mix of emotions. This would be a good summer read for anyone, but expect to start, drop all your plans and finish in the same day.

Amy Harmon has once again written a beautiful journey. Her writing is simply beautiful and embraces you. I loved how in depth this story was emotionally, how it involved so many people throughout the story and the complexity of the characters, and how it all came full circle. What a beautiful story and heartfelt ending. Mercedes, Noah, and Cora will truly touch your heart.

Amy Harmon has an amazing gift of creating incredible characters. Characters that you want to know IN REAL LIFE! As I finished The Smallest Part a not so small part of my heart is in mourning because I want MORE of Mercedes and Noah. We could be best friends too!! I have loved all of Amy’s books and The Smallest Part ranks right up there at the top of my favorites. ❤️❤️❤️

Amy Harmon is one of my favorite authors, and this book was a great addition to the novels following Moses.
The themes of friendship, love, culture, sacrifice, and grief are all interwoven in a beautiful story that seems to be a love triangle, but isn’t really. I read this book in a day, so to say that it took me a minute to get into the story is probably false. But it did take me about 20% of the way through to feel connected to them.
Overall, a beautiful story that i highly recommend

This was an interesting read with shades of paranormal where certain individuals could communicate with the dead. Mercedes was a loving and giving person and she bonded and forged deep friendship with Cora and Noah. She was a true friend and was so willing to sacrifice her happiness and dreams in the name of friendship. It was interesting to see how she fought her feelings for Noah. There were twists and turns in the story. It was not just a love story but there was suspense as well.

How many times have you taken something apart, then put it back together, only to discover that you left out a small part or two? "It will work fine," you tell yourself.

Only it doesn't work fine. Those small parts you deemed so easily disposable turned out to be integral. WIthout it, function ceases. Everything falls apart.

This is the core idea behind Amy Harmon's exquisitely beautiful The Smallest Part. The titular piece in this tale is Mercedes, "the girl who didn't get the guy," as the blurb describes her. Shorter than her best friends Noah and Cora, Mercedes is the small part who isn't so much discarded as she is set aside. When Cora asks Mercedes if she loves Noah, Mercedes denies that she does, effectively setting herself off to the side. Through Noah's and Mercedes's points of view, you come to see how this happened -- why Noah and Cora wound up together. Yet there will be no happy, fulfilling relaitonship without its smallest part. Both Norah and Cora need Mercedes.

Harmon plays on a riff of a song that Mercedes sings, "A La Puerta del Cielo," in which "little angels" come shoeless to heaven. Mercedes has a thing about shoes. At five-two, she wears sky-high heels in an attempt to give herself some height. Knowing her love of shoes, Noah gifts them to her on more than one occasion. Harmon draws a distinct line between "little angels" and Mercedes, whose care and devotion to her best friends is nothing short of angelic.

But who takes care of Mercedes? Harmon infuses her story with a sense of spirituality, that those "little angels" look out for us in ways we can't understand. You are never alone, Harmon wants you to know, not even when you feel abandoned. Trust that not even your smallest parts are forgotten or unprotected.

Noah and Cora also need watching over, too, albeit in different ways. Fortunately for them, their smallest part is steadfast. Mercedes is there for them, even in their darkest hours. But as she learns so painfully, you can only help those who let you help them.

This is a stand-alone novel, although if you have read The Law of Moses and/or The Story of David, you have previously met some of the characters in this book. I have not read either of those books, but I want to - I need to - because I can't get enough of Amy Harmon's storytelling.

Amy Harmon has done it again! Another heartfelt story! Real. Honest. Touching. This book makes you feel...it’s about life, friendship and love ...I enjoyed meeting these three friends and experiencing their history together. But this book is way more than that. It’s lessons learned, overcoming loss, and Amy shows you an amazing take through the eyes of each character. Cuddy and Moses were also so very important and their uniqueness allows them to shine in this wonderful story. I loved this book! I thoroughly enjoy Amy Harmon’s writing style and definitely recommend this one. I can’t wait to read more of her books!

Heart breaking, heart warming, thought provoking, inspirational, exquisitely written and told - The Smallest Part is one of my favorites of the year. This story was just so much more than romance. It's about love, loyalty, betrayal, friendship, honor, dignity, and the human capacity to give and understand. It's everything and told in such a tragically beautiful manner. Amy Harmon has outdone herself with this story. It'll stay with me. I loved every single word.

In the hands of a beautiful writer beautiful books are produced. The key to a good read is the connection to the characters. Once this is made we can accept whatever we are told. In this it is hard not to fall in love with our two leads and connect with their hearts and their plight.
The delicate subject of suicide is handled with care and understanding even whilst a romance is gently constructed from the ruins. It makes this novel a wonderful read.

Wow, everything that went into this story. I'm still at a loss for why Cora did what she did. I think I didn't like her for every decision she made, and including how she treated Mercedes. Like she stole Noah on purpose? I just never saw her as a good friend for Mercedes and Noah. Overall, this was a heartbreaking story to read bc of the revelations and situations that went down throughout.

These characters come Alive and you want them to be Your friends...you fall in love with them and Amy Harmon does not disappoint! I loved getting to know Dr. Noah better! I love that Moses peaks in now and then.

An emotional story of life-long friendship that turns into romantic love. However, this is not a fluffy romance. It touches on depression, suicide, mental illness, familial relationships, sacrificing yourself for those you love - all the messy things that make up life. There's even a bit of the supernatural in this story. All in all, a well written story that gets you really involved with all the characters and their lives.

This story follows suit from Amy’s previous novels with a little more “spice”! Demonstrating the art of friendship, love and romance tied together by three best friends. Gets a bit complicated, as life often does, but real love has a way of overcoming. Great character development. If you have read previous books by this author it is helpful in understanding a touch of the paranormal, but there is enough revealed so as to not be confusing. Great read in my opinion! Enjoy.

I was introduced to Amy Harmon’s books last summer by Angie and Jessica’s Dreamy Reads. I instantly fell in love with her work. Each book is crafted beautifully and the characters have such raw depth to them. This book is no different. She created a beautiful story of friendship, wove beloved characters from other books and left you feeling fulfilled as she creates beautiful arcs in her stories. I never leave unfulfilled after reading her books. I only leave with anticipation for the next one!

If you're a fan of Amy Harmon, be excited...be very very excited because she has done it again. She's created such a beautiful breathtaking story with such amazing characters that will forever live in your heart. If you are new to Amy Harmon....grab some coffee/tea, a snack, and come sit next to me. WE NEED TO TALK You are about to embark on a novel that will keep you captivated from start to finish. Amy Harmon writes novels that make us believe in a better world. Novels that give us hope in humanity, and reminds us that kindness, love, and friendship matter.

"They had all been inseparable once. Shared fear. Shared uncertainty. Shared childhood. Whatever it was, it had cemented them."

The Smallest Part begins when the trio, Cora, Mercedes, and Noah meet. Three children that become fast best friends. Forced to mature quickly because of their trials and tribulations, our trio form a solid bond that carries them long into their adulthood. We get glimpses into that past while watching the present unfold. Which keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. When the unimaginable happens we have to sit back and watch with broken hearts, as the characters we instantly fell in love with, struggle to put their lives back together as best they can. This trio will be engraved in your heart. The way they love and protect each other. The funny banter they have. They are everything you look for in real life and in our favorite novels we read again and again.

A warning to the reader...
You don't know what's going to happen. Of course, the author is going to deliver a perfectly beautiful romance (I mean come on! It's Amy Harmon!) But at 20% I gasped (LIKE FO REALZ!!) There are twists you won't see coming and hurdles to overcome before you can get to that perfect blissfull exhale that comes with the happily ever after. This book does deal with a very serious issue. An issue that plagues so many people all over the world. Without spoiling anything the only thing I will say is that the author delivers a powerful message about depression and how it affects the ones you love. It's tragic, gripping and eye-opening.

Once again the author has taken my breath away with her amazing characters and original breathtaking story. Her books always have a beautiful romance. But this story also had so much PASSION that isn’t typical of an Amy Harmon novel. (Like omg I think steam was coming off my kindle!! It was epic and so unexpected!!) Not that her other books are ever missing anything at all. But the raw passion she delivers in this story so perfectly placed to really grasp the beauty and power of love these two people have. I think Amy pulled it off flawlessly. It was beautifully romantic and I felt their all-consuming love for each other gripping my heart right from the pages.

This book is beautiful, it’s real, it’s heartbreaking, and it’s an absolute must-read. This book only serves to confirm why she is not only a favorite author of mine but also an instant click!!

Another captivating book by Amy Harmon. I was drawn to this book as soon as I heard that it was about a character first introduced in the Law of Moses. Even the more minor characters in Amy's books are interesting. I knew then that I would read this book as soon as it was released, and I have! It is an emotion filled story with well developed characters and a heartfelt romance. I strongly recommend this book.

Wow, what to say? Amy Harmon reach so many emotions with this story. Setting the stage for a life long friendship between three people, who are there for one another. There are lies and love. Some of the lies are told to protect the friendship. Some of the lies are told knowing a friend would never suspect what you've done.
There is lots of mystery. Plenty of chills. Deep love and betrayal.

After reading the first chapter, I knew Amy was going to break my heart again. But like always, I knew she would pick up all the shattered pieces of my heart and put them all back together again, one chapter at a time. I am so glad Mercedes and Noah found their own HEA. I also loved hearing about some other characters from Amy's other books. Great job Amy!

The relationships that the characters had was heart warming. It’s the modern age family of individuals with no blood ties coming together to support one another. We knew what was coming almost from page one but read on because Amy Harmon grabs you with her story telling and runs. Some of the connections that came out later in the book had me rolling my eyes but ultimately it didn’t take away from the story. Thank you Amy Harmon.

Every book Amy Harmon writes is the best...this one is the very best. I loved seeing the small glimpses of the young Noah, Mercedes and Cora. How their lives evolved over the years, and the way they dealt with life's sorrows made this story more enjoyable because you just knew something beautiful was on the next page. Absolutely loved this book.
