Another amazing book by ARR. Absolutely loved this book about second chances and coming home. This is a heart wrenching story about doing the right thing and loosing everything in the process. About unconditional love and second chances. About finding yourself again when you think you are lost forever. And in the end accepting the things that you can not change and embracing a love that is right in front of you a second time and not letting go ever again.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I pretty much devoured it like a day. So easy to read, a second chance romance with not a lot of angst (possibly could have had more angst). Fantastic characters which I hope to hear about in the next book in this series.

Zach and Shelby stole my heart. As teenagers giving up there son was the hardest thing either of them would ever have to face... or so they thought. Fifteen years, two divorces, and three kids later love finds a way to conquer all!!!

So disappointed in some of the reviews I'm reading. I love all of A.R.R. books and this one is no exception. My only complaint is that it was too short and I kept waiting for something bad to happen to Shelby so that Zach would come and save her. I guess I'm too use to that formula and was thrown off when it didn't happen. No matter what I loved this book, love all of her books and can't wait for the next!

With Shooting Stars releasing soon I decided to get caught up. There's been some immature petty drama involving this book over the years. For me I have come to realize that if you haven't read it you absolutely don't know for sure if it's something you'll love or hate. For me the things people said about it were blown way out of proportion. Yes two children (17 yrs old) gave their baby up for adoption. They made dreams come true for a couple that could provide a good life for him.
Ever do something, break your own heart? Then feel like if you had the chance to do it all over again you'd make a different choice? Well here that 17 yr old turns 18 and screws up again but this time he's so guilt ridden he's gonna step up. Tina and Zach were just toxic. So fast forward. Shelby had moved on fell in LOVE and married also. Had a child also. But that was barely even mentioned by those double standard reviews. So for me this worked. I started as a 16 yr old mom. I'd never regret my baby. (he's a cop (after being a marine) so I did ok) and I get that people deserve second chances. For me as a Christian our whole life is a 2nd chance. So I'm just glad I gave this a chance. Aurora is just fantastic at making me feel. I loved these characters so much.
I've come to realize that ARR could write a slime making kit book and I'd read it. (mom here ?)
Now I'm gonna dive into Denver and Aubrey.
(considering they met as kids and she married another boy, what's the haters gonna say.?) I say bring it on I can't wait! ?

Wide Open Spaces was a little more poignant than is usually found in an Aurora Rose Reynolds’ book. But, it only serves to prove what depth she has as a writer. The plot is heartbreaking in some spots, but it’s completely worth it when you reach the warm and fuzzy happily ever after.

Shelby and Zach are forced to make an incredibly difficult decision when they are young and, in my opinion, they choose the option that comes from a true place of love and unselfishness. They know that as young as they are, and in their current life situation, their child will have everything it deserves by giving the gift of a family to a couple who long for it, but cannot achieve it on their own.

As someone who has struggled for many years to have children, this was not always an easy read for me. But, I was so moved by their sacrifice and even more, I was proud of them for not interfering and letting that child grow up without the confusion of “birth parents” in his life, until he chooses if or when to seek them out.

Love is as fragile as it is strong. I know that’s a complete contradiction, but it all comes down to circumstances. It’s a force to be reckoned with but for Shelby and Zach, while the love still lingered, the internal struggle kind of imploded and turned to something ugly and bitter. I understood why they fell apart, and as much as I disagreed with Shelby’s choice, I am on the outside looking in. The reader always sees the big picture, but the characters are human and make the same mistakes that we do in real life.

Zach made a stupid decision after Shelby left, but it resulted in something beautiful, two somethings. Shelby fell into an illusion, hoping to find what she could have had with Zach if things had been different. In the end, they were both shaped by the path they walked, but fate brought them back together again.

The heat between these two was off the charts and had me squirming in my seat. Nothing new for this author, I’m always burning from the sparks flying off of the pages.

It was so much fun to be able to visit with the characters from Fighting to Breathe for a brief moment as well. There are always a host of complex characters in this author’s books, ones to love and ones to hate.

I do feel like there could have been a little more external conflict to the story. I appreciated Shelby and Zach’s internal struggles and loved the fact that there wasn’t too much angst when it came to meshing their two families. But, in some ways, it made it just a little too easy. Don’t get me wrong, the exes are a problem, but the solution seemed to work itself out a little too quickly and it bordered on being just a smidge too unrealistic.

However, that one little blip on my radar in no way diminishes my opinion of this book. Aurora has captivated me once more and I’ve added another of her books to my re-read shelf!

Captivating, heartbreaking, and incredibly moving, Aurora Rose Reynolds has once again, made my heart swell, break, and mend in under 200 pages! A STUNNING second chance love story that won't leave a dry eye in the house!

"A piece of me is missing. A part of my soul is gone. I will never be okay again."

Ms. Reynolds does one of two things in her romances. 1.) She makes her readers all hot and bothered with an alpha-licious hero with a dirty mouth and a possessive streak or 2.) She makes her readers bawl their eyes out before the prologue is even over, and then gives us a beautiful glimpse of a second chance love story that melt our hearts. With WIDE OPEN SPACES, we get door #2 ALL. THE. WAY. I'm not kidding about the crying during the prologue with this one folks. I wasn't prepared. I needed tissues STAT!

Shelby and Zach's story just broke my heart. My heart sank during chapter one...Ms. Reynolds had me worried for a second, but don't worry this is not that kind of story. There is NO cheating in WIDE OPEN SPACES. Ms. Reynolds would NEVER do that to us. Instead we get a lovely AND delicate romance that will completely sweep you off your feet.

"...you're the only place I've ever called home."

This author always paints her readers such vivid pictures, transporting them to the destination in her books with such ease. With WOS, we journey to a small Alaskan town where everyone knows everyone's business and where two lost souls find one another once again, finding out the love they shared never diminished, but only laid low until fate did its magic.

"I didn't think it was possible to love you more than I did years ago, but I was wrong...so ****ing wrong."

WIDE OPEN SPACES is a complete standalone, but it is part of the wonderful Shooting Stars series that gave us FIGHTING TO BREATHE, which was another FANTASTIC romance. After reading the book, you will DIE when you see who will be in the final book of the series. OMG! I can't EVEN! Do yourself a favor....if you need a good cry, BUY this book! If you want to read about a special kind of love, BUY this book! If you want to experience greatness, BUY this ****ing book!

*Gifted copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

This is a second chance romance at its finest. my heart broke for the hero and heroine. they had to go thru something that while right, broke them. Shelby went thru somthing that is so hard to imagine but she powered thru it not matter how hard it was. She had this determination about her that I found is really respectful. She was so muture for her age.

Zach was a great hero. I love how much you love Shelby and I loved that he was able to be a man even though it was things that he particularly didn't care for but he wouldn't change them. I'm being vague because I don't want to spoil him he is the type a hero that you have to experience firsthand. Zach was totally swoon worthy! He made me smile and tear form in my eyes and never once did I find my self disliking him. He made mistakes but he was a man and stepped up. I was mad about how all that happened but I didn't hate him for it.

Shelby was a great heroin she broke my heart on more than one occasion but she had this backbone that was just simply amazing. She doing did what she had to do on more than one occasion and I really respected her decisions. Shelby didn't want to fall Into habits like before. You could see that with how hard she fought Zach on things. I understand why she did it, and it was pretty funny to watch

This was the type of book that I kept hoping it would never end. It was too short for me. It was a full length book but I found my self wanting more. I loved the characters and the whole story. I was so sad when I read the last page because it was over.

I loved the location of the book. I haven't read many book that take place in Alaska and I found my self drawn to it, wanting to read more about everything and how different it was from where I live (NY)

Overall this was an amazing book tears of joy tears of sadness, tons of laughter and understanding, but in the end it was such a beautiful story. 5 Stars

Wide Open Spaces is book two in the Shooting Stars series but can be read as a standalone. It is Shelby and Zach's story.

After her grandfather's death and a divorce, Shelby Carter is back to her hometown in Alaska. Her grandfather left her his house and Shelby can't wait for a new start with her son, Hunter. What she doesn't expect is running into Zach Waters, her ex-boyfriend, when she arrives and finding out that he is her neighbor.
Zach Waters, the town sheriff, can't believe it when he realizes that Shelby is back. They have a messy story and he regrets letting her go.
There are a lot of unresolved feelings between Shelby and Zach, but he wants her back, and for forever. Will Shelby cling to the past and push Zach away? Or will she let the past go and move forward with Zach?

I fell completely in love with Shelby and Zach's story. They had a very tough decision to make and they did what they thought was best. Their story is heartbreaking and takes the reader in a rollercoaster ride of emotions. There's a lot of drama but also laughter and hot steamy scenes.
I loved that the story was told from Zach's and Shelby's POVs.

Shelby has been through a lot in her life, but the decision of giving her baby up affected her deeply. She moved from her hometown, got married and had a son. But she can't forget the past.
I loved Zach! Although he loves Shelby deeply and made a lot of bad decisions regarding their relationship, he doesn't regret his kids. I loved how he fought for Shelby and showed her how much he loves her. And his relationship with his kids? Swoon! He is so sweet!

Once again, Aurora Rose Reynolds gives us a phenomenal book with amazing characters. Wide Open Spaces is a second chance romance that will break your heart and heal it again when you finish reading.
Can't wait to read One Last Wish !

This is the second book in the Shooting Stars Series. They are completely stand alones, so you don’t need to read Fighting to Breathe first. Although, we do get to see those characters, for a scene, in this book also.

This is a great second chance with your first love series. It takes place in an Alaskan town.

The prologue is gut wrenching. I had a few tears fall while reading it. I couldn’t imagine having to make that selfless decision. I actually have two younger brothers that were adopted. My family is thankful to their birth families. Even the dedication of this story got to me.

Shelby and Zach were high school sweethearts. But an unplanned pregnancy makes them face a hard decision. They did do what was best for the baby, even though it hurt them so much. Then Shelby leaves.

The book starts fifteen years later. Shelby has returned, with her ten-year-old son. She was married, but she wasn’t happy at all.

Zach is the sheriff of the town. He was also married and has twins that are fourteen.

You can feel the chemistry, and love, between Shelby and Zach when they first talk and see each other for the first time in fifteen years.

They do have some things to talk about, and deal with.

I absolutely love them and the kids.

Yes, there were heart breaking scenes that had me tearing up, but there were also some that had me laughing.

There is a bear in the house! You’ll understand when you read this!

And oh my God. That sneak peek for the next book. I already know that I WILL be crying while reading that too.

You definitely will regret if you don’t read this series

Whenever I pick up an Aurora Rose Reynolds book, I know a couple things going in (1) We are going to have an honorable, hott, alpha hero (2) We are going to have a heart-felt story and (3) our hero would NEVER cheat on our heroine. This story was no different. Kudos to Aurora Rose Reynolds for taking a subject near and dear to her heart and having the ability to write such an emotional story about it.

Zach and Shelby’s story starts out sad… tissue worthy sad. Shelby and Zach’s pain leaped off the pages at me and left my heart hurting. They were two young kids that made the best decision they could at the time to the best of their ability. They made this decision together and neither of them was ever the same again. They were both irreparably damaged and went their separate ways.

Fast forward 15 years and circumstances bring Shelby and her boy, Hunter, back to the small town in Alaska that she grew up in. Guess who her next-door neighbor is? Ya that’s right, Zach and his two children!!!! The minute these two meet up again all that pain comes creeping back and needs to some how be resolved if these two are to act on the love they still feel for each other. While I would have enjoyed a bit more to this part of the story I still loved the coming together of the older Zach and Shelby.

“We were meant to be here, right now in this moment. We were meant to find each other again.”

They really were meant to be together, it just wasn’t the right time the first time around. But the older Zach and Shelby were able to over come the past and move on to have a future as a family. Having the kids play such a big role was awesome and really added to the real life element of the story. I loved them all.

There are some authors who you know that once you start to read one of their books it’s going to be a great one, that’s how I feel every single time I read one of Aurora Rose Reynolds books. First I know that I am going to be glued to that book and the only time I’m going to be removed from that book is to go to the bathroom. Secondly, I know that the writing is going to be phenomenally done; it will be perfect because she knows how to get her readers lost in her words. Lastly, I know that I am going fall deeply in love with her characters and that’s exactly what happened when I read “Wide Open Spaces.” I am a sucker for a second chance at love story and boy was I a sucker for Shelby and Zach’s story. Their story is one that goes deep man, deeper than you could imagine. It takes a selfless person to what they did to bless someone else, but the thing is at the time it seemed right and the decision seemed perfect but what it causes was a huge space inside of Shelby and Zach. It was space that was big she didn’t think they could come back from it or if they were able to fill it again. It was so wonderful to watch Zach and Shelby try to rebuild their love for each other, a love that was always there, a love that was just hibernating waiting for the right time to be awakens and I believe that the time that it did was the right time and moment. Both of these guys went through hell with their exes only to come right back to each other, it was meant to be. I think Aubrey was the cutest thing; my favorite scenes have got to be the one where she woke up her brother to talk to him about Shelby and Zach, so beautiful. I cannot wait to read Aubrey’s story when it comes out.

Another amazing book by Aurora Rose Reynolds!! I have been waiting on pins and needles for Zach & Shelby's story and it definitely did not disappoint!!

Shelby is one of those characters that is really relate-able and a character that you just like right from the start. She is a little closed off, especially towards Zach, but their past wasn't an easy one. My heart went out to Shelby with her and Zach's past, because just reading it was painful. Shelby did a great job raising her son and she is a great friend. I loved how she embraced Zach's daughter and opened her heart after it healed.

Zach is all alpha and I loved it!! He never gave up on Shelby, even when she pushed him away. His heart has always been hers and I loved his determination to get her back. He is a great father to his twins and seeing him handle his son and trying to mend their relationship was beautiful to read about. Zach & Shelby have been connected ever since they first met and their connection just grew stronger, even with so many years apart.

The passion between these two characters was heart pounding & hot. I loved seeing them help each other heal from the past and move on to a bright future together. I loved meeting new characters and I loved seeing past characters. This book is one of my favorites by Aurora Rose Reynolds and I am SO excited for the next book!!

Though for me the ending was predictable, I thought this was a good read. It’s engaging from the very beginning. Wide Open Spaces is heartfelt and filled with humor. I was able to connect with Zach and Shelby’s story. Aurora Rose Reynolds truly draws you in and I couldn’t help but root for these two. After the decisions that were made in their past and I enjoyed watching their growth as they fought to find their way back to each other. Even with the hurtles that were placed in front of them, Zach never gave up on Shelby. I loved his persistence when it came to him getting her back. I understood Shelby’s fears when it came to Zach but I’m glad that she didn’t let that stop her from the happiness that they both deserved after the trials they faced. There was a bit of drama though not enough in my opinion. I wish there was more depth when it came to the issues they faced. The “villains” weren’t really a big problem. Things were solved (or not solved) so easily or just became a non-issue. Aside from that and the aforementioned predictability at the end, I really enjoyed this story and I look forward to reading book 3.

Ok, so some folk have taken issue with some aspects of the story and have voiced their opinions without reservation on what initially transpired between Zach and Shelby. And while I can understand the fact that the action may have been a trigger to some readers and touched on a subject that they were unable to work through, I also have to say that much as with real life, I thought the book was more about dealing with regret, and embracing a second chance when it presents itself.
I didn’t particularly like Zach very much by the time I had finished reading the first chapter or two of the story but as much as I wasn’t keen on him, I was intrigued by the thought of how he could possibly come back from what he had done and how he had been affected by what had happened between him and Shelby. After all he had a vested interest too and the feeling of painful regret couldn’t possibly be only Shelby’s to bear.
He was the selling factor for me, I think I wanted to know that he had suffered too.
The story is a series of unanswered questions, a step by step guide on why the characters not only did what they did but how that has weighed on them since. By the end I felt as if I understood their actions, would I have done the same, who’s to say but I am thankful that I wasn’t in their shoes because the repercussions of their decision had shaped their here and how.
I can’t give you details on the book, I think it would be unfair. I think that Zach and Shelby, their conflict and turmoil is complete and as a reader it is best experienced first-hand.
I believed the pain they were in, and I mean it struck a chord. I thought the characters were truthful and hid nothing from the story, they laid it all out and like it or hate it, for me I thought that honesty was a definite bonus.
As you would expect from this author the story was beautifully written, yes the subject matter may not be to everyone’s taste but the solution is simple…don’t read it.

A perfect heartwarming story.

I must admit when I first went to read this book, it wasn't without a little trepidation. I knew that adoption played a part in it somewhere, and I wasn't sure my heart would take it.

However I was pleasantly surprised at how Aurora Rose Reynolds managed to write about a subject, that for me, can bring on such sadness and anxiety, with such beauty and passion. Wide Open Spaces has certainly shown me another side to adoption. I have never thought of it as a bad thing, just associated strong emotional pain with it. I can now see a beauty to adoption that I had never seen before.

In saying that, adoption isn't the main theme of the story. Wide Open Spaces, for me, is a stunning love story; set in an even more beautiful town. It shows what a true family looks like.

Wide Open Spaces is a must read!

This was our first experience with a novel from Aurora Rose Reynolds. Shelby and Zach have a very dark history, and it is a bit impossible to see where this relationship would be able to rebuild. Reynolds manages to curb the hurt, and slowly rebuild this love story. Wide Open Spaces was a relatively small novel easily finished. Although, I would not particularly say that this was a story carry an overwhelmingly suspenseful love story; but it was most definitely an entertaining romance to escape in for the short bit it required to finish this book.

Wide open spaces

I loved this book with my whole heart. Wide Open Spaces checked all the boxes for me. I am a huge fan of ARR, LOVE second chance romances so this was perfection and made my heart happy.

I laughed and cried a lot during this story. Shelby & Zack were so perfect for each other. Their journey back to each other wasn't easy but the moment they met again I was so swept up. Oh the feels!

There were so many profoundly beautiful lines in the book I found myself highlighting quotes on almost every page. It's truly a story about finding your happiness, finding what makes you the person you always knew you could be and finding that one person who loves you and let's you be that crazy you.

I adored the kids so much and the sneak peak into Aubrey's future made me teary eyed. As always ARR leaves us happy in love and anxiously awaiting her next story.

Heartwarming perfection.

After fifteen years and something, with two exes between them, and three kids, I expected more drama, in depth discussion, a lot of soul searching before all is forgiving and smooth sailing. Actually, now that I thought about it, I felt so unsettled about the pace of the book. It shouldn't have been that easy to move on. The problem with Max, Hunter's dad did not even make sense. The resolution was like, what?

Moving in together was so like out of the blue. Don't get me wrong, this is a good story, but I've read better second chance romances since I am a sucker for them.

Then their reconnecting with their son, Samuel, who was giving away was just glossed over in the epilogue. I don't know. I wish there is more. Just my own humble opinion.

anticpated this book for a while. Am loving the Shooting Star Series by Aurora. I enjoyed Zach and Shelby's story this was not a drama filled romance it was a romance about second chances at love for a couple that once was but due to an expected pregnancy and life decisions the hurt caused also was too much for both and soon Shelby left. Fifteen years later newly divorced she inherits her grandparents home and moves back with her son Hunter. With an unexpected alarm on their first day moving in she encounters the one person she knows she needs to avoid. Zach isn't just the town's sheriff but her next door neighbour and he lives their with his twin teenage son and daughter.
Zach is unavoiable and seems to always be there pushing his way into her life no matter how much she tries to avoid him. Love hidden always resurfaces and theirs is no different just a little more complicated because of unspoken hurt of their pass and their family dynamics. Zach is strong when Shelby seems relunctant and they find their way.
Its not gritty, or raw but simply beautiful, relatable and honest. I loved it. It also shows us the importance of family, support and understanding. Good Job Aurora ..now bring on the #BoomEffect followed by Aubrey's story.

Together as teenagers, Zach and Shelby shared a special love most people can only dream of, until an unexpected pregnancy. They decide together for the benefit of the child that adoption is for the best. The grief from this sends Shelby into a depression that distances her and Zach. They end up breaking up and she moves away to run from the pain leaving him to deal on his own.

Zach waits for her thinking she will clear her head and come home to him. As months go by, he struggles to numb his pain with alcohol and drugs which result in him having a one night stand who ends up pregnant. Trying to learn from past mistakes, he marries the girl and lives in a loveless marriage until divorcing and getting custody of his twins.

Fifteen years later Shelby and her ten year old son return to her hometown for a fresh start. Little does she know that not only will she run into Zach, she is his new neighbor.

This is a sweet second chance story with a ton of heart. I loved this book so much and I was so happy that Austin and Lea made an appearance as well!

Wide Open Spaces is a beautiful second chance love story that pulled at my heartstrings. Second chance romance is a tricky thing for a lot of readers, myself included at times. For me, it all depends on the whys. Why did the hero and heroine separate? What brought them back together? Did either one do anything that I just can’t get past? The hero and heroine in this story, Zach and Shelby, were both deeply in love with one another. Something heart shattering happened and the heroine just couldn’t handle it, so she left. Now, many years later, she’s restarting life for her and her son in her home state, Alaska.

Zach and Shelby were young and in love. Shelby lived with her grandparents, after both of her parents passed away and Zach didn’t have the best home life. They were teenagers with little support or means to support themselves, yet alone raise a child. They did something selfless and beautiful, yet something that tore this heroine apart. They mutually decided to give their son up for adoption. As someone who has spent many years struggling with infertility, adoption is one of the most beautiful and precious gifts anyone can give a couple who can’t have children. Adoption gives people like me hope that I can one day have a child. The fact that this story dealt with adoption was near and dear to my heart.

After the adoption, Shelby couldn’t cope. She couldn’t handle giving away her child. Even though she knew it was for the best, and that the parents that adopted her baby would be the best thing for him, it was too hard for her. She had to get out. She had to leave town. She still loved Zach, she just couldn’t be with him at that point in her life. Zach and Shelby moved on. Shelby met someone else, got married and had a child. She later got divorced. Zach didn’t know how to cope after Shelby left, so he turned to drugs and alcohol to numb his grief. Being left to grieve the loss of their child on his own, and the loss of the love of his life on top of that was just too much to take. Zach made mistakes when he was in this state. Zach is a human. Zach was not perfect. Yet, Zach never stopped loving Shelby.

Zach has been divorced for many years and has full custody of his twins, a boy and a girl named Steven and Aubrey. Shelby moves into her grandparents home after the loss of her grandfather. Surprise surprise- her neighbor is Zach. She knew she’d have to see him again, she just didn’t think it would be so soon. When Zach sees Shelby again, he knows he can’t let her get away again. She has always been the love of his life.

Let me just talk about Zach for a moment here. Zach is one of my favorite hero’s Reynolds has written. He’s a fantastic father. He loves Shel so much and treats her son like he is one of his own. He is a trademark ARR alpha in some ways, but in others, he is a little older, wiser, kinder and more patient. I loved how he gave Shelby space when she needed it, but also knew when to push. Shelby was incredible as well. I love the relationship she developed with Zach’s daughter. It was beautiful. This blended family was heartwarming. Shel came to Alaska broken, with a piece of her still missing from long ago. Slowly but surely, Zach starts to fill that space.

This was a story that was hard to read at times. It made me cry. But by the end, my heart was so happy it could burst. The story was fast-paced with the perfect amount of emotion, steam and romance. Zach and Shelby’s story shows that sometimes first love is forever love. The family element was fantastic. I loved Zach and Shelby as a couple, but I loved their ‘family unit’ even more. The next book in this series is about Zach’s daughter, Aubrey and OMG after that little sneak peak we got at the end, I can’t wait! Seems like it’s right up my alley!

If you’re looking for a beautiful romance that is equal parts sweet, swoony, steamy and a book that will give you the feels- pick this one up! I loved it and give it a full 5 stars!

We met these two characters in Fighting to Breathe and I wondered about them. Now we know. Just wow ... Aurora has written a story that is absolutely breathtaking. This is extremely emotional and one you don't want to miss.

When Shelby Calder left home fifteen years ago, she never planned on returning to the Alaskan town she left behind. The reasons she left was to start over -- forget -- to bury her past. But after the death of her grandfather and a bitter divorce, she hopes going home will be a fresh start for her and her ten-year-old son Hunter. Maybe dragging her son what seems like a million miles away from his father wasn't the best idea but staying where Max could continue to control her wasn't an option either. Coming back home means facing things she left behind. Shel didn't think that facing those things would happen the minute she arrived.

Zach Watters has never loved another woman. When Shelby left he plummeted into a deep depression filled with drugs and alcohol. He tried to fill her memory with others but it never worked. One night turned into more than he bargained for but being the man he is and fighting the past he tried his best. Never did he imagine he would get another chance with the woman he has loved for his entire heart but there she is ... staring him in the face in the house right next to his.

This is a fantastic story about doing what is best -- breaking each other's hearts and piecing them back together. I couldn't take my eyes from the pages and flipped until there were no more to flip. What a story written from the heart. BRAVO --- This book can be read as a standalone but I would encourage you to go grab up Fighting to Breathe. This "series" just keeps getting better and better. How do I know ... well ......

We also get a sneak peek into the last book which is going to be a killer on your feels. I don't know when it's coming but I'm going to need to prepare. Holy Aubrey ....

Thank you for the ARC -- I couldn't be more honored to read a magnificent story. Thank you for allowing me to do so. Review to post to Ramblings From Beneath The Sheets.

I love anything that Aurora Rose Reynolds writes but I will admit deep down, the Until Series has and always will be my favorite! The first book in the this series wasn't a favorite of mine, so I went into reading Wide Open Spaces with mixed feelings. I didn't know if I would like the characters, want to read a second chance romance and more.

The book was overall good with the alpha males that Aurora is famous for! Zach easily did that part and was good at being bossy! But I didn't care for some things that weren't explained further into the book. Zach and Shelby gave up a baby for adoption. The only explanation was that they were young and couldn't provide for the baby. Then not even three months later, Zach has impregnated Shelby's best friend. He marries her and they go about raising their family. Why couldn't he have done that for Shelby? I wish there was a little more explanation to that!

And my only other gripe is the instant love! I know that can happen but this was just a little too fast paced for me. I didn't feel like Shelby was given the time she needed to confront Zach about his marriage to her ex friend and why he felt the need to not contact Shelby after she ran.

Zach and Shelby were wonderful characters and the way they brought their two families together was done wonderfully! I praise Aurora for that! She did a great job without too much drama involved!

I am looking forward to the next book and hope it's a good one!

The moment Aurora Rose Reynolds mentioned that she is going to write another book in the Shooting Star series I was over the moon happy because book #1 Fighting to Breathe is my favorite book of hers. I had therefore very high expectations for Wide Open Spaces that were not only fulfilled but totally surpassed. This book was without a doubt one of the BEST second chance love stories I've ever read. I could literally feel how much the author put all her love into writing this book. It's a very emotional read that shows how true love can conquer all. Zach and Shelby's road to happiness was not a smooth one. Like in real life it was full of challenges and some major ups and downs.

The moment Zach and Shelby gave their son up for adoption a wide-open space was left in their both hearts they thought would forever be empty. It was a decision they didn't made easy. They did it with best intentions in mind for their child, wanting him to have a better life than they were able to give him.

When Shelby Calder left home fifteen years ago, she never planned on returning to the Alaskan town she left behind. But after the death of her gramps and a bitter divorce, she hopes going home will be a fresh start for her and her ten-year-old son Hunter.

Zach Watters is a man that made a lot of mistakes in his life. The one he regrets most is that he let the only woman he has ever loved go: Shelby. When the girl that still owns his heart returns to her childhood home looking more beautiful than ever before, he promises himself that he will get her back and never let her go again.

Can they both leave their past and regrets behind and move on into a beautiful future together?

Zach and Shelby totally stole my heart. I loved them so much! Zach wasn't a perfect hero, he made mistakes (like we all do) but that made him only human to me. He was a true alpha with a swoon-worthy and tender side while Shelby was a very loveable and strong heroine. They were perfect for each other!

Prepare yourself for a heart-breakingingly beautiful story that won't leave you unaffected! Aurora's powerful and poignant writing will touch you deeply and make you never want this book to end.

Is Wide Open Spaces an emotional rollercoaster? Yes, definitely. Will your heart be broken? Yes it will, but Aurora will put it back together. I promise! Give this book a chance, you won't regret it! Great job Aurora Rose Reynolds.

Wide Open Spaces is a beautifully heartwarming second chance romance with a wonderful family aspect. I love novels that have a true family feel to them. You know what I’m talking about the heartwarming, cozy, safe feeling.

This is a beautiful yet angsty second chance romance!

The novel starts off with an angsty vibe. Shelby and Zach are both sixteen-year old’s and are forced with a tough decision. whether to give their baby up for adoption or not. They both decide that adoption is what would be best for their child. Shelby can’t handle the pain and sadness she feels so she decides to leave Alaska. Zach waits for Shelby to return only to come to terms with the fact that she isn’t coming back. So one night one a bender while high and drunk he sleeps with Tina and along the way gets her pregnant.

15 years later….

Shelby returns to Alaska newly divorced with a son (Hunter) by her side. After her Grandpa passes away she receives his house in the will. She is shocked to find her new neighbor to be the one and only Zach. Zach is also a divorcee who has full custody of his twins. (Aubrey and Steven). Their mother Tina isn’t in the picture all that much. She is what they call a weekend mom.

I will definitely be rereading Wide Open Spaces! Give it a shot, you won't be sorry!!!

“Wide Open Spaces” is a beautifully nostalgic second chance novel!
With a love that won't let you move on. Your heart is still huddled away. Left in that fragment of time and space. A decade back and your heart has yet to be healed. Which find us lost in this unwavering Love.
Mix in an arrogant alpha male, undying, unwavering and unrelenting love. Which is Aurora Rose Reynolds signature writing style that I adore!

When grief leaves a gaping hole in her soul, Shelby leaves Alaska and the love of her life. Now 15 years later Shelby is back to start over with her 10 year old son. Zach being her next door neighbor and now the town sheriff makes the move home even more complicated. Can these two fill their "Wide Open Spaces"?

The love that is between these two characters after so many years apart is awe inspiring. And even though Shelby tries to fight it, you can see that the love is still there.

This book is nothing short of AMAZING! Aurora had me crying on the first page. She has this amazing ability to make you feel the exact emotion the character is feeling. This book is beautifully written. I read it straight through because I literally could NOT stop reading it! Wide Open Spaces will captivate you! You will laugh and you WILL cry! This book will give you a major case of the feels! It's beautiful, heartbreaking, healing, passionate and so much more! This book deserves 6 stars! A definite MUST READ!!!

Shelby and Zach gave up their son for adoption when they were teenager's to give him a better life than they could provide. Shelby couldn't cope with that and left Zach and moved out of Alaska. She moves back 15 years later with her son Hunter. She ends up living next door to Zach and his twins who he had the year Shelby left!

I liked this book but I did have some issues. I think that Shelby forgave Zach too quickly for sleeping with someone so soon after she left, and they didn't really talk about any of their issues. There wasn't much drama.

I really liked Shelby. After first I didn't like Zach but as I kept reading, I started to like him. He wasn't your typical alpha male but once he saw Shelby again, he wasn't going to let her get away.

I loved his relationship with his kids and how he was with Hunter. I loved Hunter, Stephen and Aubrey and I'm glad Aubrey is getting her own story.

This book might not be for everyone but you should give it a a chance and you may like it!
