Marlfox is one of the best books by Brian Jacques. When the prized Redwall Tapestry is stolen by the Marlfoxes to brighten up dreary Castle Marl, Song, Dann, Dippler and Burble sets of under the guidance of Marting the Warrior to bring it back. So begins another saga, full of adventure, excitement and suspense, that will keep you reading till the very last page! It is a great book, and I suggest all fantasy freaks to read it!

Five stars does not even do justice to this book. Brian Jaques continues to create a world full of daring characters and evil villians. This book is sure to delight readers of all ages, and hopefully Mr. Jaques will be around for many years to come!

I have read all the books in the redwall series except Mariel of Redwall and the Bellmaker, but I think this one is the best! It's filled with action, adventure and suspence. I especially like Mokkan and Dannflor Reguba. This book is a must read!
The Bellmaker: A Tale from Redwall :: Pearls of Lutra: A Tale from Redwall :: Taggerung (Redwall, Book 14) :: Mariel of Redwall (Redwall, Book 4) :: The Legend of Luke: A Tale from Redwall

Superb book! Great plot that rolls along on a comfortable speed. The characters are so great and the dialogue fits them perfectly. I definitely suggest Mr Jacques' work, and Marlfox in particular, to anyone in search for a good, amusing book.

No beast living can hide from thee o, thou who treads invisibly o'er hill and vale, Marlfox! Marlfox! Marlfox! No book is a match for Brian Jacques's Marlfox! It will keep you waiting to see the next page and the next. This is one book you won't want to put down; then you'll read it again! A long time ago a vixen and her mate were cast out from Redwall and never seen again. Thirty years later, the seven offspring have come to kill all those who cast out their parents. The seven vixen have axes made of magic silver and an army and each time they come from a town all you can hear are the screams of agony and pain.

I've read all the books in the Redwall Series except The Long Patrol and Pearls of Lutra. Marlfox was not as good as Redwall or Mariel of Redwall. There was hardly any battles and I didn't like the writing tecnique.

It's true that marlfox does follow the usual Redwall pattern, but that can be a plus if you like that pattern. I do. Besides, the pattern may be usual, but it is still interesting because you don't know who dies (except the bad guys, but I'm taliking about the good ones) and who doesn't die. I wish Mr. Jaques would write another book about these characters. Some of my favorite characters are as follows: Song, Dann, Dippler, and Burble. I really enjoyed this book and I think anyone who didn't has no taste and is completely insane.

I have been a fan of the Redwall franchise since '96 or '97. I've read all of them, but I have to say this is one of the worst in the series. It's like reading Mattimeo (one of the best ones) again, except it's a lot more boring and very predictable. Another thing is the characters, they aren't very appealing, like Florian, he's kind of like Jar Jar from Star Wars. Also, the parent's in this book seem like they did not care about their kids exploring alone. I mean, they hardly talk about them, What's up with that? And another thing. Why does every adventure (excluding the ones with Martin the Warrior) have to take place in the land of Mossflower? Jacques has to expand to some foreign land, or something. The only reason I that I would recommend this book would be to fill in the gap between the 10th and 12th novels.

Brian Jacques has done it again! Once more the teller of tales has created yet another great book. Marlfoxes are magical creatures who live in a castle on a lake inhabited by pike. When they steal the legendary tapestry of Martin the Warrior from Redwall Abbey, Song Swifteye, a warrior's daughter and a visitor, Dann Reguba, son of the abbey's warrior, and Dippler, a young Gousim shrew, set out to return it. Along the way there is trouble, friendship, and, above all, adventure! This is a great book that is exciting and will keep you on the edge of your seat!

The names are strange and the world is wide but that didn't stop Song, Dann, and dippler from their quest to regain the heart of redwall, a tapestry which lies Martin the warrior. Their adventures leads them from a hedgehog names Soll to a female hedgehog names Talboot (its close). As they go from home to watervole, to the river, to the Island of the evil Queen Silth. Full of adventure and good for anyone who likes their mind to go on an imaginative journey through an imaginary world.

I really liked this book. It is one of my favorites in the series. It was very unpredictable and i liked how he ditched using mice a lot and used an almost all squirrel-hedgehog-shrew-mole cast, and i liked how it said at the end that the Noonvale players were going to make it into a play. I liked how it connected the Urthwyte's island from Salamandastron with this book. I reccomend it!

Hey, my name is Dana. I absolutley LOVE the Redwall series. They are immensly intriguing. I found all 11 of them very difficult to put down. I bring my books with me everywhere. I, honestly, have read all of them atleast 2 or 3 times, some of them 4! Brian Jacques is the main writer who's inspired me to become a writer myself, through his work. I hope he continues to write more & more great storys. I have no doubt in my mind that he will!

Marlfox must be the best and most entertaining book in the redwall series to date. The easy storyline, imaginative characters, and definitive detail make this a must read for anyone who enjoys the novels. Without this book, there would be a definate gap between a great collection. All in all, if you haven't read a single one of the redwall books, Marlfox would be a good one to begin with.

This book is very good, but I found it a little duller and not quite as enveloping as the other books in the Redwall series. The Marlfoxes added a needed bit of evil mystery to the book, making it exciting and fun. I haven't read any Redwall books in a while, (I've read all the rest) and this book is very welcome. It may not be quite as good as the other books, but it's still one of the best books I've ever read!

Marlfox kept us on the edge of our seats and we were constantly entertained. Never before have we experienced such evil vermin as the Marlfoxes. Jacques puts Redwall in a time of great danger with very few warriors to defend the Abbey and no Abbot or Abbess to guide it. To find how this story ends, buy the book and read it. We liked our UK cover of Marlfox better than the USA cover.

Marlfoxes are roaming the Mossflower Wood. Brian Jacques describes the reality of the book wonderfully. It is a story of how truth triumphs over evil. A part that stands out to me is the battles at Redwall Abbey. For instance, the Marlfoxes kidnapped the mousebabe Dwopple. It then turns into complete pandamonium, resulting in wars. But I won't tell anymore. Read it for yourself.

I can only say one true thing... WOW! Marlfox is a facinating tale of the Redwall characters. As a novel of redwall I feel that this book outdo's them all! YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK! I just got it yesterday and I read it for atleast 7 hours and could not put it down. If you want a real thriller and an awesome book go out and get... ......Marlfox......

There are a number of things that I do not like about this book; the lack of any major battles (like the one in "The Long Patrol"), the absence of hares, etc. This book is definitely not as good as others in the series. It was somewhat of a disapointment. I would not reccomend it to anyone but a true Redwall fan. If you are new to the series, read "Redwall" instead.

This book was my favorite in the Redwall series (I have read them all). I was captivated by his in depth descriptions of charactars and his vivid imagination. The books get better and better as the series progresses. If anyone needs a great book, you should start this series with his book titled, "Redwall". Enjoy!

I liked this book, like all other Jacques' Books... But I found the begining to be very boring. It didnt catch my attention, and didn't really motivate me to read on... Although Brian Jacques has been VERY good at catching my attention with his books in the past...this book didnt. But I must say it did end up to be a very good book.

this book although excellent is not as good as some of the others {martin the warrior} it lacks the time setting of the others. What I mean is that in this time most of the redwallers are either dibbuns or elders. I did like the hare florian though. He was new.

This book was a very exciting book. It's full of action andsome drama. It also has alot of war and violence. Eventhough there'sviolence it is still and enjoyable book that I couldn't put down. I would recommend this book to teenagers and up. I don't think a little kid should read it because of the violence.

This is a very good book. I got hooked on it right from the very first page and couldn't wait to find out what would happen. This eleventh installment of the Redwall series is one for the ages. You should hurry and read this book. I think you'd enjoy it.

This is the best Redwall novel yet! Brian Jacques has captured reader's minds again. The Marlfoxes are mysterious and dangerous. They would be hard to do battle with because of their ability to vanish like the wind. GREAT STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marlfox is a rather good story, but it isn't one of Brian Jacques' best. Redwall has no leaders except Cregga Rose Eyes, who refuses to be an Abbess, and the cellarkeeper from The Long Patrol is still alive, Gurrbowl. How that is possible I do not know unless moles live forever. Also the adventuring part is quite boring and the White Ghost part is a bit ridiculous.
Please RateMarlfox: A Tale from Redwall
