Dark Promises (Montgomery Brothers Book 2)

Dark Promises doesn't disappoint. I love the disclaimer in the beginning not to fall in love with the villain, because that's exactly that happens. Keir is as self absorbed as they come, but meeting Rowan throws him through a loop. He can't get a handle on the demure vixen, but it's funny to watch him try to play by conventional rules to try to win her affection until he realizes that she's just like him. The chase is on, and the sparks that fly between Keir and Rowan are HOT. I couldn't put this book down. This is not so heavy on the political story, but does deliver a hot side of intense chemistry. You won't be disappointed. This is a great read, I highly recommend it!

Rowan was dumped by her boyfriend that needed to be paired with a more influential family since he was running for a political office. She had a good girl persona on the outside to please her parents and she was a bad girl in private. Keir wanted to run for office and needed to be paired with an influential family and his team decided Rowan was that girl. He was a bad boy that had sex with just about any woman that would let him. She just wanted a one hot sex night and he needed to woo her and pretend that he actually liked her. When the two started spending more time together they realized they were a lot alike and enjoyed each other's company. This was a hot sexy book with drama and romance. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

For lack of any polite descriptors of Keir, we'll just call this a taming of a bad boy and fake relationship, romance I just love it when the smug and arrogant, fall. That's exactly what happens to Keir Montgomery. Looking to sweeten his public image, he seeks the perfect politician's, prospective wife. Rowan fits the bill, but she has been hurt before and is not all that anxious, to be used again. Enough twists and turns, family drama and dwelling in the D.C. underbelly - it's just a great read! Written in dual perspective, helping the reader get into the character's minds. I believe that romance lovers are going to enjoy watching Rowan, bring Keir to his knees. I received this book as an ARC and I volunteered this review.

There was Rowan the good girl with a darker side. She gets dumped by her boyfriend of two years as he is going to run for office and won't have time to date. Then there is Kier, the president of the US son. He is a playboy, bad boy and has aspirations to run for office, but needs to improve his image. Rowan is the perfect candidate according to his strategists. When they meet, there is immediate chemistry. It was a good story line with some good twists. Don't want to give away any spoilers so you will need to read the book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope you do as well and really liked that there was an epilogue that wrapped the book up.

I received an ARC of this story through Hidden Gems and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I typically have zero interest in anything remotely political, bores me to tears. The politics aspect of this romance was entertaining and fun somehow! Here we have Rowan who was dumped because her guy has political aspirations and they don't include her. Then we have Kier who also has political aspirations but thinks Rowan is the perfect relationship front for his image but Rowan wants nothing to do with Kier's talk of a relationship after what her last guy put her through. Hijinks ensue. I love reading the story of these two as they find their was through it all to their HEA. All in all a VERY enjoyable romance!

Loved this poignant story between a Presidential Son & Daughter of a prominent family that is a major contributor to the past presidential elections. Keir & Rowan are strong personalities due to their upbringing. They meet with personal agendas and end up falling for each other. Steamy love scenes with emotional moments from both protagonists. An egotistical upcoming politician that has a hidden agenda to jump start his political career. A daughter of a prominent family that contributes to the presidential family campaign that is needing to spread her wings & find her own life. These 2 connect and find love in the most unlikely way. YAY for Happily Ever After.

Rowan is left broken hearted when the man she loves dumps her suddenly. Keir is a total playboy, who needs the perfect girl on his arm, and from an influential family, in order to boost his image before he announces his campaign for the Senate. These two use each other, but they are both unable to deny the chemistry between them, especially when feelings change. No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed!
I adore this authors’ work, and her stories always have fantastic plots which have me hooked and intrigued from the very beginning. I highly recommend Winter’s work for all readers! Brilliant work as always Winter!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Wow! What a fabulous read. I really enjoyed the story of Kier and Rowan. The chemistry between these to was so hot. The story line was wonderful and I really enjoyed the location of this story. You don't always come across a book that is set in the political arena and have it be more about the characters and their connection. I liked that Kier was trying to change his ways. I liked that the fact that there was funny moments to the story as well. This book kept me captivated and wanting to know what would happen next and if they would be able to get through all the drama and find their HEA. Great ending. I look forward to more books by Ms Renshaw.

Does Winter Renshaw write anything that isn't great? Loved the premise of this story. They were both deceiving each other and what goes around comes around but in the end love prevails. This was told in dual POV's. It had good character development and a fast paced good flowing story. Great sex between the two. I like a little more angst in my stories but love the ending. Love the way she incorporates characters from her past books. Highly recommend not only this book but most all of her books.

They say "opposites attract" but what happens when man meets the female version of himself? Keir Montgomery is accustomed to getting just about every woman he desires, but when he sets his sights on Rowan, he's in for a big surprise -- and the reader is in for a real treat. He may want a relationship with Rowan for all the wrong reasons, but she intends to stay clear of him for all the right ones. Smart, sexy, ironic, wickedly funny and occasionally sad, Dark Promises explores the consequences of living as if the ends justify the means, whether in politics or a relationship. Awesome read! Winter Renshaw has never been less than a five star read for me and Dark Promises is no exception. She had me at page one and I couldn't stop until I devoured every word. I liked Rowan and was glad that she didn't fall for Keir's snow job, although she was guilty of some deceit on her part as well. Keir is pretty despicable at the start of this book and remains so for a much of the story, seeing Rowan only as a means to an end until he finally realizes how much she means to him. Dark Promises is another amazing romance by the incomparable Winter Renshaw and I loved it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This was much better than Dark Paradise because the plot was more credible and the secondary characters (like his mom) were significantly more realistic. I don't read a lot of CR, that this book worked for me because I think the author did an excellent job of presenting the inner conflicts of 2 people playing games with each other, and both trying to figure out how the other was gaming him/her. I thought Keir's transformation into a good guy was a little bit rapid, but his thought process was believable. I liked Rowan until she cut off Keir - they were both playing with fire so she should have forgiven him without him having to give up his ambitions.

Once again another enjoyable and beautiful story by Winter Renshaw. Kier wanting the senate seat so bad is willing to play dirty to get it. But one way to do this is to change his man-whore status to a change and respected gentleman settled down with the perfect and classy Rowan Aldridge. He was surprise to find out she was not that easy to romance. She was just trying to get over her own broken heart. They were both using each other for their own benefits, but both end up falling in love and it complicated things. They had to go through a lot to make their relationship work. This is a book u must read you will fall in love. Thank you Winter Renshaw.

I voluntarily read this advanced readers copy of this book. I so can't wait to read more of Renshaw's work either. Strong characters and a great story line. You will love reading about Keir and Rowan's story. Keir's wants to run for Senate and make his past disappear. His consultant convinces him to win over a woman they chose to clean his image up. Rowan has just got dumped. All she wants is one night stand to get over her ex. She has pick Keir cause he doesn't do commitment, so there is no chance in falling in love. What she doesn't know is that Keir has already chosen her for his target. Just wait to read the story that follows in their wake.

Rowan is the "perfect" child, raised by parents who are "experts" on child raising. Her heart was broken by her boyfriend of 2 years, an upcoming Senator, who didn't have time for a relationship. Keir is an evil person and he knows it. He wants to run for president but needs to look like he's settled down and Rowan is the perfect woman for that. He has no desire to be kind but he must to get her attention. He just needs her for a few months and then he'll dump her. But getting to know someone has feelings that get involved. My first but not last read by Winter Renshaw!

Caught up in a political game, Rowan and Keir both have their own hidden agendas, but what happens when those agendas change? The strategic tactics they were taking to achieve their goals were kept hidden from each other, yet what started out as a game of sorts became so much more. The attraction between them became so real. I loved reading through as their secret plans evolved. There were some great surprises, including some of the characters from Dark Paradise. This was a captivating game, until it wasn't a game anymore! Is Keir the opportunistic jerk he was previously portrayed to be? So worth it to find out!

I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review. I have to say these two characters are like two peas in a pod. Rowan does not take mess from men especially after what happened to her in the beginning which is understandable. Kier an arrogant man who is truly self absorbed and likes to use women has met his match in Rowan. Their hilarious beginning allows us to see how the two begins to bond and we see Kier change right before our eyes and he sees something far beyond that of politics in Rowan. I loved this story it will not be the last book that I read of Ms. Renshaw.

A romance that is far from your typical romance novel. There is a little politics in it, but not enough to be annoying. There is a lot on dysfunctional families and how they affect people which feels like a great insight for us ordinary people. Fortunately it is still a really romantic story that will have you laughing and crying a lot. Well written as all Winter’s books are. At tines it reminded me of the movie “ how to lose a guy in 10 days” a thoroughly enjoyable read.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the latest by Winter Renshaw! Oh Keir! Such a bad boy. Trying to prove to Rowan he has changed his womanizing ways to further his political career. Rowan has her own agenda. One night is all she wants - no strings, no attachments. But Keir needs a "good girl" by his side to help his political career and wont give up without a fight. Rowan decides to go along with Keir - her heart emoji's and all her "babe's" had me laughing out loud. I don't know how Winter Renshaw did it, but she made Keir likeable. AHHH! Loved the epilogue. One big happy family!

Wow what a great story by Winter Renshaw. Broken hearts are just collateral damage in this world of politics. This story has twist and turns aspirations for political purposes using people to get what you want. Typical politicians lying cheating just to advance.

Incredible. This book is not only immediately facinating, but the way one certain character evolves is so great. Rowan is a fantastic heroine, strong despite her scars, but Kier is a total donkey. I wasn't sure how this would go, but I fell in love with this book and this unexpected couple. Avoid spoilers if possible. My favorite part is seeing the evolution. The writing is tight, characters well-crafted, and the chemistry between our leads is fabulous. I highly recommend this enjoyable read. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.

I loved this book.

The relationship starts as two people using each other for their own reasons.
Rowan only wanting a one night stand to get over being unexpectedly dumped by the man she loved. Keir needing the perfect woman to support his campaign in winning an election for a senate seat.
After spending time together they begin to fall for each other. When their lies become apparent the pain and hurt pulls them apart.

Keir needs to prove to her that what started as a lie changed into something real.

I have already met Keir Montgomery in Dark Paradise. He needs to change his image if he wants to run for the senate seat available in his district. For this reason only, he needs to find someone that helps him to clean his image. He sets his eyes on Rowan Aldridge.

Rowan is hurt by a bad experience and she only wants a one night stand to feel better and forget about her ex.

The reading is easy, the characters are great and the book is very entertaining!

I received an advanced reader copy of this book and loved it! Kier Montgomery...a man I did not think could be redeemed from is despicable actions and unapologetic arrogance in Dark Paradise. I should know better than to doubt Winter Renshaw and her sassy heroines. When he meets Rowan, a mirror image of himself, he is knocked clear off his game. She keeps him on her toes and makes him rethink how he lives his life and what is important. Together, they are the epitome of a power couple, in and out of the bedroom!

What an awesome love story! From the beginning they both had secrets, soon love shadowed them until they were brought to light! At the end of the day, do you own up to your part of the deception or do you point fingers? It takes Rowan and Kier a little bit too figure it all out! But with all his Grand Gestures, can she hold out any more? Winter did an awesome job with this book, giving it enough twists and turns to keep you reading. Great job, I loved it!

This was my first venture into any kind of romance with a political spin and I thoroughly enjoyed it I will be reading the first in the series as I received this one for my opinion of the book. If any of you follow me, you know I do this Reginald do not let thatcolor my opinion. But the way you see the evil Keir fall for the naive Rowan is special. The author doesn’t loose sight of his diabolical side even when he begins to question his feelings.

I thought this book was well written and it engages you from the beginning. I really could not put it down. I really enjoyed Keir and Rowan's story! I loved Rowan! She is strong character. I loved seeing Keir's character grow and develop through the story. I really enjoyed the story-line a lot!! Definitely worth the read! I look forward to reading more by Winter Renshaw.

Bad boy turns good in this book by Winter Renshaw. The storyline is well thought out and the story is well written. It will entertain you until the end. It has wonderfully developed characters as well. They have heated chemistry, which always adds to the excitement of a story. Plus you can relate to them in some sort of way. I love watching the care free playboy start to fall for the sweet girl whose had her heart broken. Well political books not really my thing but trust me this is a lot more, I loved this storyline, I could not stop turning the pages, Full of family intrigue, and difficulty with in presidential family, but lots of romance and hot sexual chemistry. Loved the main characters, but you get too know about all the characters in this book. Well written DEFINITELY grabs you Loved it.

I really liked this story. The "villain" gets caught in his own web! The plot was a little different from others. The story-line was a little choppy throughout the book. The characters were good - needed more development. The way Rowan and Kier go back and forth with each other is pretty funny. The chemistry between the two was there - it just wasn't explosive.

His strategist tells him that in order to win votes he needs to appear to settle down with a respectable girl. Roman Aldridge was the perfect candidate, she was beautiful and came from a well-connected family. She has no idea that he is using her in his Senaye campaign. This is a terrific book and I absolutely loved Keri and Rowan's relationship. Well done Winter.

I really enjoyed this book! Keir and Rowan are each using one another for their own purposes. Keir, to try to rehabilitate his reputation as a philanderer before entering politics and Rowan, to get over a broken heart. The book goes back and forth between their points of view and it is fun reading how their relationship that started out as fake develops.

The chemistry between the characters is wonderful and their banter is full of wit. I loved getting to know them both and truly enjoyed the whole story.

Great read! This completely pulled me in and kept me on my toes. I love how things were different than the normal story. Rowan is a strong woman that knows what she wants and twists things to try to prove a point. Keir is that cocky, no care, only wants what he wants and isn't bothered by how it happens type of guy. But wow oh wow, I just loved him from the start. Just something about him! A definite must read!

I really enjoyed this book, Loved Keir and Rowan, a politically ambitious man looking for the perfect image with the perfect woman and Rowan has all the qualities necessary to fit the bill, so both play a game with each other to prove a point and both lose and win. It was a great, easy read I highly recommend it. It will not dissapoint.
