Do not buy, half of these comments are probably paid off or asked to write the review. Bad book, do the research yourself because you will learn more and get the info you need. All this book doe (aside from support the author for his half witted opinions) is cover common sense items that if you don't understand already then you shouldn't be doing business.

This is a superbly written, comprehensive, soup-to-nuts guide to starting a food truck business.

It is written with an honest, respectful, and friendly tone not commonly found in many how-to books.

In addition to sharing an insider's deep understanding of the food truck space and the many pitfalls to avoid, the author manages to concisely include the very best principles of successful business development and entrepreneurship. This is an impressive book containing pearls of wisdom throughout; balanced and up-to-date practical advice; and the reference information anyone would need to successfully start and operate a food truck.

Pretty outdated and kind of pedantic. Familiarize yourself with a spreadsheet program like excel? Even 5 years ago that was pretty Mickey Mouse. How about get a good bookeeper, a better accountant, learn how PLs and balance sheets work and automate your numbers and your sales tax so you know where you stand financially ALL THE TIME. Quite frankly this book is actually an example of something far more useful than what the author says in it. Its his side product marketing, we are all paying this guy basically an annuity in perpetuity for his "expert advice". A steady income stream off the truck. Brilliant, I am this dude's 401k. Smile. Really? How about learn about how to move in a Business with razor thin margins (restaurants live and die by accounting, its the money stupid) and how to manage the bottom of the line parts of your PL and Balance sheets, like any company from the biggest publicly traded conglomerate to a solopreneurship. Any book that doesn't recommend actually looking at real market analysis data for its industry and being strategic in leveraging your advantages (portability, smallness, flexibility, a license that gives you wide berth in many states to have a platform to market and sell side products directly to your customers e.g) Well sorry, if all you've got to say is smile, I guess your smiling because now you got my 12 bucks. The fact is this business is declining and unless used as a platform to get out of it will financially ruin you, evilve or die as they say. 4 years is a dinosaurs age ago. Maybe when he started it was different. I have seen truck after told reuck smugly think they are god's gift because they had the luck/happenstance to stumble into this business in 2008 when a monkey could have made a go at it. Its simply a different world than the one he describes here.

I hate leaving negative reviews. But here goes. You know how Kitchen Confidential seemed, from the getgo, a "behind the scenes" kind of book, telling you things outside of what you could surmise just by being a restaurant customer? Well, this is the opposite of that. Get into social media. Know what other food trucks are making. Realize that carts are smaller than trailers, which have the advantage of being able to tow and so isn't vulnerable to breakdown the same way a food truck is. Hire good staff. It's less expensive to start up a food truck business because you're not paying rent (for a restaurant). Limit your menu and make an awesome product.

All great advice, if you were writing a Food Truck book for E.T. (the extra terrestrial). Maybe I should write "The Heart Surgeon Handbook." Wash your hands before every surgery. Wear gloves. Speak clearly when asking for surgical instruments. Pick a competent surgery team and treat them with respect. Make sure no other surgeon has reserved the O.R. for the same time slot, as that could create some serious friction.

This book was put out by Wiley, creators of the "for Dummies" brand. Maybe they should start a new line of books: "For Extraterrestrials with no Prior Experience Living on Earth."

I purchased this book expecting high level details. In reality, David Weber's book was thorough and detailed, (including information about vendors and suppliers you should connect with). I was able to launch my business in 30 days just by following the guidance given in the handbook. It truly was a roadmap, walking you through everything you need to know. I also appreciated the case studies and testimonials from actual Food Truck operators.

While running a food truck business is not easy, I am much more prepared because of the insight and instruction I received from the handbook. A must read for anyone who is seriously considering starting a Food Truck Business.

This is a very good book for anyone thinking about going in to business for themselves. I have been contemplating opening my own food truck for quite a while, and found the info in this to be well reasoned. Haven't pursued my goal as of yet and haven't finished the book as of yet, but I am very excited to get to work!

For anyone considering opening a food truck, this book is essential. Even though it's written by a NYC truck operator, the information is relevant for any area of the country. Practical, concise, thorough. Worth far more than what it costs.

This was a very good book. I have been interested in mobile food vending for a few months and now I know it is what I am going to do. It is a must read if you are thinking about starting a food truck business.

So, I think the description of this product needs a little tinkering. The author describes in detail the processes of owning a food truck business. I was under the impression that I was going to learn how to make a food-mobile for my own personal consumption of sustenance. You know, like for long road trips or whatever, it would be useful to learn how to convert my Rambler into a full on buffet on wheels. Unfortunately, by the time I finished the book, I wasn't hungry anymore.

For those looking to learn how to build/maintain/stock your own personal food vehicle, find another book. This is for a business apparently. I gave it 5 stars because I feel the mistake was mostly on my end.
