This book follows the pattern of the other Julie Klassen books, It is well written but predictable. It is the kind of book you look for after reading something very intense. It is grounding and always has a moral.

Julie Klassen writes in such a way that you cannot put her books down for anything. This sweet story is one I could not get enough of. I had to know how this story ended. I wish I could read it again for the first time.

If you have read any other Julie Klassen books, you won't be disappointed in this one. The characters are well developed and you almost feel like you know them by the end. It's one of those "can't put it down" books.

....and that is saying something because I love all her books! I love the classics and this novel had shades of Jane Eyre. This novel will keep you guessing about many of the plot developments until the end, though I did guess who the hero was going to be and was delighted to have it confirmed. Time spent reading this book is time well spent.

Enjoyed this book although it did seem to drag on just a bit in parts. Still would recommend because it was an enjoyable book to read. I always learn unusual bits on information from Julie Klassen's books, happily I can say that this book was no different in that regard.

Although I would have been shocked if anyone had assumed I would be a Victorian novel reader, I must admit I have read every book Julie Klassen has written, and been fascinated by her writing style, and her very well done historical research.
She holds one's attention, and keeps developing the story in such an intriguing and captivating way that it is impossible
to put down.

That was a great story that kept me hooked throughout. The words painted a picture in my mind that made me feel like I was there. I plan to buy more of Mrs. Klassen's books. I hope I will one day have the chance to visit Cornwall too!

I thoroughly enjoy reading this author. She sets up her characters so well. I, as the reader, become vested and intrigued with each one. Her stories remind me of Jane Austen and I can never get enough of her writings. I love how she can capture the innocence and romance of the time and yet create a complex story worth reading. I want more.

Julie Klassen did remarkably well in her book, The Tutors Daughter. The historical romance is filled with a complicated plot and wonderful character development. While it isn't a full blown gothic mystery, it does have a pleasing amount of suspense.
I heartily recommend this novel to any lover of recency romance.

Easy book to read, enjoyable, maybe a bit predictable as to the ending. Story line takes u back to the setting of time and how a woman could maintain the reins if she was strong or had something to contribute like money.

I really enjoyed this book. It's evident that the author researched the area she wrote about and I found the way she described the landscape and the views the heroine was experiencing made me experience them as we'll; not to mention the mystery, reminding me of Jane Eyre, the characters and the captivating love story....ahhh, I loved reading it!

I enjoy a good historical novel that does not have any explicit phrases. I have enjoyed the Julie Klassen novels because she focuses more on actual facts and does not give the "and they lived happily ever after" affect. Life has its ups and downs and she portrays that in her books. Also i love to read about the Jane Austin era.
