This review is not about the book subject or artistic value. I have no comment on that. However, this book is labeled as Library Binding and it's not. It's paper over board. My negative review is because I expected to be paying more for a library bound book and it's just a hardback.

With a title like walker-talker it really should have carried with the rhyming theme. Not only that but so much more could have been done with this cute story. On the positive side at least she learned her lesson.
Whose brilliant idea is it to put picture books in landscape format with two pages per screen!!!??? Unacceptable! Takes the fun from the intended audience when it's so small!

The book is pretty simple and straight forward. Good for 3-6 year olds. Lacey finds when she loses her voice she can get lots of things done. The lesson is there (it's good to stop talking sometimes) but it's really kind of vague. I was hoping to use this to help teach social skills. I don't know how well it would work. It's cute for regular reading with your little one though.

As a non-stop talker myself, I absolutely adored this book!
Lacey the owl talks all of the time. She gets shushed often by those around her. One day she wakes up and her voice is gone. At first she is upset, but then she realizes how much work she gets done and how much she enjoys listening. When she wakes up the next day, she has her voice back. She still talks and talks and talks. But now she realizes how much she likes to take breaks and listen to others.
The illustrations are cute and colorful. The story is simple and straightforward making it appropriate for preschool ages and up. I highly recommend this book.

Lesson about learning to appreciate the things in life when you are no longer able to it. You begin to appreciate the different things things around you like family and time spent with others, this story captured it in the eyes of a child.

I really liked the setup of this book. The children can infer as to why she didn’t know those things and can compare her story to theirs. Great way to Segway into the never ending topic of talking too much in class!

My VERY talkative granddaughter found a new best friend in Lacey. She identified greatly with the main character and even told me that her family and friends said the exact same things to her! She wanted us to read it again and again. A d when her Nana can e home she told her she had bee n listening better - just like Lacey.

Great story, great pictures and definitely added to my professional library. I think that highlighting what it was light for others when she did not stop talking AND when she couldn't talk would have made this a 5-star. Great though and worth the money. Love the pics.

A nice children's book with cute art. My daughter is 7 and can be quite the talker and I immediately thought of her when I saw it. She enjoyed it but it seemed a little below her age range. Still a nice message and well presented.

Social emotional learning is extremely important in every stage of childhood and adolescence. A great book to help young children understand why we need to listen to others as well and talk to others, a proper way of communication.

This is a unique story about listening because Lacey loses her voice. She realizes all her nonstop talking causes her to miss out on well....everything. Her silence forces her to be a listener. And what do you know....lots of positive stuff happens because she is quiet and LISTENING. Great lesson in this one. Can't wait for our chatter boxes to LISTEN to this book.
