Departed (A Private Investigator Series of Crime and Suspense Thrillers

I really love this character. Every Leopold Blake story means reading late into the night, I just can't put them down!
The other thing I love about this series is the descriptive nature used to describe the locations. The details of London and "the Yard" were so interesting.
Another great read!

I am a great fan of police detective,murder mysteries(think Eve Duncan series by Iris Johansen) so when the first Leopold book was suggested by bookbub I said what the heck and gave it a try. The first book was definitely a page turner with a lot twists and turns, with a lot of possible suspects. Definitely would recommend. The second book 'Departed' As the title may suggest departs a little from the story style of the first with a little more gore involved, not recommended for the lighthearted or those easily offended or grossed out by a little blood and gore. The scenery descriptions are seemingly accurate since I have never been to the U.K overall a good read, definitely like the first 'Panic' a little better but a great start to a promising career Nick and looking forward to the third installment.:-)

This is the first Leopold Blake story that I have read. Now I want go back and find the others! I enjoyed the interplay between him, Mary if the NYPD and Jerome the unflappable bodyguard. Can't wait to read another!
