My son loves nothing more than books that offer flaps that reveal items. In fact, we've never seen a 9-month old react so well to "Dear Zoo". So we though this was the perfect book to learn more about body parts. Unfortunately the quality of the book was awful. After two readings the flaps starting falling apart (this wasn't even my son's doing!). Then all of the other flaps just began to come off just by lifting them up and down. Even if the flaps were working I couldn't recommend this book to anyone. It had SO MUCH POTENTIAL with the writing...but alas, the writing is awful. The author is trying too hard to rhyme and make it a fun read, and what you get at the end is a book that has completely missed its mark. What a shame. Not even worth a penny. Do you want a good flap book? Trust me, get "Dear Zoo"!

Here's a link of a picture I took of one of the pages:

I purchased the used version of this book that was advertised as in good condition. When I received it, the overall book was in good shape. However, when we started reading, almost all of the flaps had been ripped out. Flaps are sort of the selling point of a book like this so it's kind of useless.

I love the interaction that this allows for me to have with my baby. He truly seems to enjoy lifting the flaps in order to find out what is behind them. However, some of the "flaps" are too small and should have been bigger, particularily the flap that covers the ears, elbows, knees, eyes, and the belly button.

I love this series of books. Unfortunately, after only reading this one a few times, one of the flaps fell off completely. This hasn't happened with any of the others, so I'm assuming it is a fluke.

I can understand some fear in the flaps ripping but I have handled it with TLC and its fine. Has never ripped or come unglued. I dont let my daughter run around with it either because she would love to rip the pages out.....thats apparently fun to do at 17months. I read to her and then its put up to protect it. Its a really cute littlebook. I recommend.

my 5 month old daughter LOVES this book.. She gets so excited when I take it out to read to her. It is a book she can touch, taste (HEEHEHE), and be interested in for car rides, doctors appointments, and even resturants. I love it!

Awesome book! My sixteen month old loves the flaps and finding out what's underneath them over and over. My only complaint is the page that conceals the ears under a hat with ear flaps. The ear flaps are way too small for little hands to lift them without ripping them right off. My son's a bit of a bruiser, so I just assumed it was him, but a girlfriend of mine (with a very gentle young son) had the same issue. Otherwise, it's fantastic.

We have actually bought this book twice. Our son has loved reading it together since he was a little baby. When he was small, he ripped off some of the tabs, so he got a new one last year for Christmas. He is 2 now and still loves the book, plus it taught him his body parts easily. By the time he was 9 or 10 months old, he could point to many of the body parts in the book.

Just fun to read together while learning body parts in a different way. Just think not sitting in front of the tv and having shows do the teaching. Reading and learning at the same time always a classic

This book is good for babies around one years old. It is a nice change from all the animal books available. The reader can pull parts of clothing away from the book baby to reveal a nose, hands, toes etc. and the baby can compare his body part with the one in the book. The only thing that was a little off-putting to me was that the the babies in the book were mostly girls and I have a boy.
