Cowboys of the Flint Hills (The Sinclaires Book 1)

Enjoyed getting introduce to the town of Prairie, Kansas and the characters' dynamics. You are constantly cheering the hero and heroine, while they are learning about each other and how to trust.
Great story!

Normally my preference is for series, with continuing or reoccurring characters, but I decided to purchase this since there are stories to come. It was recommended because I follow Cora Seton and Vivian Arend and reasonably priced. Ms. Layne is a good choice for those who also like these authors and are looking for someone new to add to their list of fav authors. My interest was peeked at the mention of Fermilab as we raised our children in the neighborhood and would take our children on bike rides and enjoy the buffalos. With so many of our neighbors being Fermilab employees, it was fun to remember. Maddie, the lead female character, was a little too self-centered for me and I questioned Blake's, the lead male character, interest in someone so self-absorbed. With that said, I really enjoyed meeting new characters and look forward to reading their stories. Ms. Layne is definitely an author to follow.

Loved this first novel in this new series! Blake and Maddie Jane brought real depth to this story. It also introduced other characters and events that offer a good insight into future novels. Cannot wait for the next installment in this series!
