Therapy works unless you sleep with the therapist and suck out their life force! Jerome has forced Georgina into therapy, she is being horrifically sulky and he has had enough of her.

When that fails he sends her to Canada, to spy for another Arch Demon who is having problems with a demonic cult that are giving Satan a bad name!
Another mystery for Georgina to solve as Jerome is “summonded” in a turf war and goes missing.

Fearful that a new Arch Demon will be appointed Georgian rushes to locate and save Jerome, with the help of her current destructive relationship, gosh this girl knows how to punish herself.

However whilst Jerome is captured she soon discovers that she can have rampant sex with Seth, which is not good news as he is in a different relationship and trying to make a happy, non-Georgina filled life for himself.

The erotica in these books is always fresh, never repetitive, sensitive but heat inducing.

More heart breaking revelations about previous relationships from the past.

RM is really evolving all her main stay characters in new and wonderful ways.

The only thing wrong with being an immortal succubus is that it's hard to really love the one your with.

Georgina Kincaid is a succubus in downtown Seattle. She spends her days working in a book store and her evenings sucking life energy from men and women. Georgina loves being immortal and able to change her shape at will, but it has it's drawbacks. When she was dating Seth Mortensen, it was hard for her to get close to him physically because she was afraid she'd suck out some of his energy. Unfortunately, that isn't a problem anymore since Seth dumped her for Georgina's co-worker Maddie.

Georgina is heart-broken, and has such volatile mood swings that her soul count has risen dramatically. But her demon boss, Jerome, is not pleased with Georgina's attitude of late and decides to punish her. He outsources her to a rival in Vancouver to help him with a local Satanic cult problem as well as do some spying for Jerome. But the kids running the cult seem to always be one step ahead of Georgina with their protests and vandalism. She knows the leader of the group is an angel, but she can't seem to figure out who it is. If she can get to the leader, maybe she can shut the operation down and get back to Seattle.

Unfortunately, Jerome disappears mysteriously and with him, her powers. She is terrified to go anywhere since she isn't sure if she is still immortal. All the immortals lost their powers with Jerome's disappearance and it's weird seeing vampires walking the sidewalks in full sunshine. The demon's who do have powers are jostling for to fill Jerome's empty position. Georgina must rescue her boss and find out who is behind it, or all hell is about to break loose. On top of it all, with her now being mortal, she can have relations with Seth if she can maneuver around his girlfriend Maddie.

SUCCUBUS HEAT, GEORGINA KINCAID, BOOK 4, is a multi-faceted treat! Suspense, romance, and other-worldly characters are all wrapped up and tied with a bow. Georgina is an exceptional character that will have you laughing, shocked, and sympathizing for. A paranormal sundae with all the trimmings!

Oh good Lord in Heaven ... this series just keeps getting better!

Georgia is an enigmatic character that jumps off the page and burns into your brain! At first I wasn't sure I should how to feel about her and her lot in life.

Then the wordsmith of an author unleashes the world; story and conflicts and melts your heart!

Can't wait for more!

In Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid remains stunned by the betrayal of her boyfriend writer Seth Mortensen who slept with her best friend Maddie; make that ex boyfriend and ex BFF (see SUCCUBUS DREAM). However, her boss archdemon Jerome is tired of her negativity as a succubus must be upbeat and her inability to suck souls as that is why a succubus lives so he exiles her to Vancouver to work for a less tolerant rival with instructions to perform industrial espionage.

However, back in Seattle, a Satanist cult has performed some spectacular seemingly supernatural events. Several of her peers and paranormal associates have vanished including Jerome. Currently more human than hell spawn, Georgina knows she must act starting with finding and saving Jerome before civil war breaks out over who's in charge. Also Seth wants a second chance with his beloved to include sex; she considers going for it with her on top since she no longer can suck his soul from him.

The latest Succubus urban fantasy (see SUCCUBUS DREAMS and SUCCUBUS BLUES) is an engaging Seattle thriller starring the intelligent but frazzled Georgina. Nothing goes right for the heroine as she has lost her skill, her boyfriend, her best friend, and her boss. However, instead of wallowing in self pity, she searches for Jerome to keep the political-industrial hell spawn complex from overt hostilities. Although the story line contains too many cul de sacs, which in fairness adds realism to the heroine's probe, fans of the series will enjoy Georgina amateur sleuth.

I started this in the afternoon and had to finish it before bed. So many things happened in book four where do I start to discuss? I was surprised by the reemergence of Seth and Georgina. I thought that ship had sailed and we weren't going there anymore. I didn't expect a storyline involving a loss of powers for the entire Seattle gang but it was funny to see Georgina dealing with everyday tasks. I didn't see the mystery bad people in this story. Never guessed it until all was happening at the end. Totally curious about book five and what major things will happen in Georgina's life. I have my suspicious but can't wait to discover the truth.

This is the fourth book in the Georgina Kincaid series and I thought it was also the best. I was so excited to read this book after how the third book ended with Georgina and Seth on the rocks. I recently found out that there are going to be six books in this series. After this book I am eagerly awaiting the fifth book.

In this book Georgina is in a bit of a rut after breaking up with Seth. She has spiraled down and spends most of her time smoking, drunk, sucking the life energy out of moral men, and shacking up with the truly evil Dante. Jerome (her demon boss) is pissed at her bad attitude and loans her to another demon in Canada; he wants her to help with a problem that they are having there with some demonic cult that is just being plain annoying and getting Hell bad press. Shortly after her trip to Canada she gets sick and Jerome goes missing. With Jerome gone all of his underlings have their immortal powers taken away. Georgina needs to figure out what happened to Jerome and figure out how this cult is involved; but what does having her powers taken away mean for her and Seth?

This was a great book. The plot was wonderful, focused, and fast-paced. Georgina is a great character and I loved that Seth remained in the story. Dante is also an interesting character, but the angel Carter remains my favorite character of this series. It was fun to see how Georgina dealt with not having her powers. Overall the main mystery/puzzle of this book is concluded nicely and the broader story-arc regarding Georgina's contract with Hell and herrelationship with Seth is filled out and made even more mysterious.

The strongest point of this book is characterization; Mead develops wonderful multi-dimensional characters that you can really care about. She also writes good sex scenes, which is something you don't get to see in her Vampire Academy series. The plot sucks you along and I had a ton of trouble putting this book down. I also love that the books in this series have good, well-organized plots that make sense and don't seem frantic. I run into so many of these paranormal books where the heroine ends up running around like crazy and seems lost; but these books are not like that. This book also has a healthy dose of humor to keep you chuckling :-)

If I had to come up with something to complain about it would be that we didn't get as many glances into Georgina's extensive past in this book and I really enjoy those little stories. Oh and the book cover and book name is still pretty corny...

Still this book didn't disappoint I loved it. I zipped through it and couldn't believe that it was over. I love her Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy, Book 1) series too and am eagerly awaiting the next book in that series. I think I will give her other series: Storm Born (Dark Swan, Book 1) a look too. Loved this book; this series just keep getting better!

Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid is back for more hell-raising adventure in this fourth installment in Richelle Mead's sexy urban fantasy series. She is in a funk over her breakup with Seth Mortensen. She has been dating Dante, even though everyone thinks she could do better. Jerome, Georgina's boss, and Cedric were at war over territory. Jerome is sick of Georgina's behavior so he punishes her by loaning her out to Cedric - as a spy and favor to rid him of the Army of Darkness cult. Then Jerome is summoned, leaving all of his lessor immortals without their abilities. The vampires can walk in the sun and Georgina no longer has her energy-sucking succubus ability. Georgina investigates with help from Seth, who she is still in love with, Dante, who she is currently dating, and Roman, who wants to kill her.

The fourth book in this series is the best so far; the story is still progressing and the author seems to enjoy the world she created. I am still holding out hope for the coupling of Georgina and Carter. I am holding out hope that Georgina's dream, provided by Nyx, comes true and the man is Carter.

The other books in the series.
Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid, Book 1)
Succubus on Top (Georgina Kincaid, Book 2)
Succubus Dreams (Georgina Kincaid, Book 3)
Succubus Heat (Georgina Kincaid, Book 4)
Succubus Shadows - coming April 2010.

What is it about the way Richelle Mead writes, that she is able to perfectly capture the pain of a romantic break-up? She somehow is able to make me relive the pain of feeling cut-off from a loved one, abandoned and dejected - it ain't good! Thank goodness there is an interesting story woven in through this pain. Fans of Mead and Georgina, if you have stuck through this series for the first three books, you will want to read Succubus Heat. There is a payoff to the series and it is done quite well - readers have to pay for the little reward dishes out, but it is worth it. Readers are also additionally rewarded -- without spoiling too much, I will say that characters from previous books return.

I don't remember Vampire Academy being this funny, maybe I didn't get the humor in that series but the Georgina Kincaid series is damn funny. I started marking quotes, but there were just too many of them. I think one of the appeals of this series is that because of Georgina's role as a succubus, readers are able to suspend their judgment of her intimate activity - after all, Georgina has to fulfill certain requirements or she will suffer in Hell. Rarely in mainstream urban fantasy books are female characters having so much physical relations with so many different men in such an unabashed way -this suspension of judgment is appealing. But of course it only exists within the confines of this series. And I guess there is judgment in the end, Georgina judges herself.

Questions continue to be not answered. Who is the guy in the dream? Will the dream come true? Does Georgina deserve better? Why the heck does Carter care so much? How can someone who is working for demons and hell be so good? How can she be good if in the end she is shortening thousands of mens lives? Why is Georgina reliving the same romance over and over again throughout the ages? Why is she attracted to the good ones? And what I am dying to know - when will she reveal her true form to Seth and what will he think?

At the close of Heat, Georgina makes several changes in her life. This book is a worthwhile read. The narration continues to be fabulous, I highly recommend listening to this series.

In Georgina's fourth outing Mead continues the heartrending tone that initiated by it's predecessor, Succubus Dreams. Our heroine is deep in a funk and from page one it seems like the hits just keep coming for her. Don't take that as a negative though. This installment provides everything that readers have come to expect and love from Mead, and some. Heat doesn't lack for any of the love, passion, mystery and action that made the first three novels so gripping. But for each bit of those elements, the pain is ratcheted up about three times more.

With the brief reprieve from her soul-sucking abilities, Georgina is faced with the opportunity to partake of everything we've seen her long for - only it may be too little, too late. Bittersweet the novel may be, it's pervasive sadness only lends to make the story that much more beautiful.

The mystery part of the plot blends in well with the romance here too. It's evenly paced and well thought out. It also serves as mechanism to better illustrate the complexity of each player involved in the story. Major characters and bit players alike are all very nuanced and add to the impression that, despite this being a story about the preternatural, this is all very real. I know it sounds cliche but I laughed, I cried. I definitely cried.

Consequences seems to be the theme of this one. Almost every party involved is faced with a decision of their own to make, and for each one the outcome is felt by all. There are a few surprises in-store and, for those concerned, the issues of Georgina's contract and her prophetic dreams from Nyx are each addressed.

Fans, you won't be disappointed. Heartbroken sure, but in that respect you're no better off than Georgina.

I mentioned before that every book of this series from book three onwards is fantastic, and this book takes the cake! Georgina Kincaid is back, and she in not a happy succubus. The hell-serving, soul sucking succubus is depressed after her break up with Seth, and having to see her ex in a happy relationship with her own friend is even worse. Even her relationship with Dante, the black magic man, doesn't help. She is such a mood killer that her demon boss Jerome sends her away on assignment to Canada to work for one of his rivals named Cedric. Jerome is a demon from hell, so of course he has ulterior motives - like spying on his potential threat. When she gets there, she meets her temporary new boss and learns that she must put a stop to a bunch of humans causing trouble and drawing unwanted attention by trying to pretend to be servants of hell - how embarrassing to the real hell bound creatures. What seems like an easy task turns into a life changing feat that puts everyone's future in the balance. Add the fact that her boss has gone MIA, a crazy immortal angel could be behind everything, and everyone under Jerome's care has lost there powers, therefore giving Georgina the ability to finally sleep with Seth, and you have an action packed, emotional roller coaster of a read!

This book reminds you, not so discretely, why it's not a Young Adult novel.

Georgina has her succubus superpowers of shapeshifting and life draining taken away when Jerome is summoned and captured, leaving all of Seattle's hellish to become "normal." Vampires in the sun, Imps wandering around, Succubi not stealing life energy... thoughts of what it could finally be like with Seth float around in her fantasy world.

But he's with Maggie.

Georgina's world is turned upside down. She is played by demons in different areas all vying for Seattle. She's a pawn. She has to get Jerome back or her world will be gone. Another will rule over her demonic posse. Or she may even be shipped off elsewhere.

What happens though to a succubi when she's human? Especially one who cheats behind her boyfriends back and craves more, more, more, more, more....

Some reviewers aren't so sure this book works in the series, but I think it opens up so many possibilities and is extremely clever. Once again, I couldn't put it down. The twists are perfect. Georgina's angst is brilliantly composed. Questions get answered in this book, but they aren't always what she wants. You'll be left wanting more too!

If you love Georgina, you'll love this next instalment.

Well.

I liked the fourth installment in the Georgina Kincaid series as well as the other ones, though not for the same reasons. I liked the mystery of Jerome's summoning, and although not brilliant, that part was interesting, but while I enjoyed the developing and the conclusion of Seth and Georgina's relationship in the first three books, their "fling" - as G calls it - in this one was incredibly painful and annoying for me to read.

I don't like infidelity, and you would think that a one-thousand-something-year old succubus who cheated on her husband (which lead to her selling her soul to hell and living centuries with the guilt and the sorrow) would know that making her ex-boyfriend (who's still in love with her) cheat on her girlfriend (who's her best friend) by sleeping with him is not a good idea.
And that she would at least remember the simple effect of sin on human soul - as in, cheating on your girlfriend is a bad, bad thing to do that will send you straight to hell, especially if your name is Seth Mortensen.

Anyway, I think Richelle Mead tends to slack off after the first half of a series. It happened with Vampire Academy - which I loved until the fourth book, and then, not so much - and I've noticed that in Georgina's series too. I really hope the last books will be a little more satisfying.

First things first. Spoilers will follow so... Next, please don't judge this book by it's cover (or any of the other Succubus books in this series). Some people judge books that way and these covers are horrible but the stories inside are incredible.

This book really helps the reader understand the break up of Seth and Georgina in the last book and it made my feelings towards Seth's character soften. I still don't agree with how he chose to handle things but I definitely better understand.

This book is emotionally much easier to read than the last one. To read of Seth and Thetis finally getting to be together physically and KNOWING that they still love each other... that made the whole book for me. I have to say though that Georgina feeling so horrible about Maddie kind of took away from it for a quick minute. All Maddie had to do was find her a condo and the unyielding guilt then surrounds her? The guilt should all be on Seth or at least most of it. He jumped into something new while he was still in love and that's never a way to start a relationship. (Dr Phil moment over.) That had to be when his soul started to darken.

It hurt so bad to hear Georgina tell Seth that he should be with Maddie though. He told her that he would break it off with Maddie to be with her and she said no. WTF? After everything that happened and was said between them during that week? I almost stopped feeling sorry for Georgina when she did that. But then Maddie told Georgina about being engaged and flashed not the ruby Seth spoke of but an ordinary diamond, I got a warm feeling and I really feel hopeful of a Thetis and Seth reunion.

The other story of Jerome being kidnapped... it was good, but come on... this whole story is really of Georgina and Seth. Ok, maybe not the whole thing, but for me that's what stands out.

In this book Georgina finds herself investigating mysterious disappearance of her archdemon boss Jerome. While Jerome is away, all his subordinates temporarily lose their supernatural abilities which includes Georgina's life-sucking "curse." Obviously, it opens new opportunities for Seth/Georgina relationship, or does it change anything at all?

"Succubus Heat" is an extremely engaging book, although very dark and sad. I found it very hard to put down and finished it within hours. The only negative about this series is an excruciatingly painful relationship between Georgina and Seth. I just hate seeing them hurt each other over and over again in the name of their undying soul-mate-kind-of- love. Why can't they just be selfish and enjoy each other while they can, disregarding everyone around them? But I guess this torturous love affair is exactly what makes this series so addictive(for me). I'll be anxiously awaiting next installment coming out in March of 2010, but looking back I probably wouldn't have started reading this series until all books were out because ultimately all installments end with a cliffhanger and I hate it.

P.S. I did not think Seth did enough in this book to redeem himself in my eyes. Still disappointed in him

Another great addition in a series I really enjoy. I have to admit I do get frustrated with numerous characters throughout this series but the mystery and the intrigue keeps me reading. I love the ongoing theme that no one is above redemption. I love that demons can be nice people and can love others. I'm not a fan of the on again-off again Seth-Georginia relationship. It's been explored enough, please move on. The same cast of characters that don't grow or mature is a bit stale also. Don't be too turned off by that though, I read this book in one sitting. I absolutely had no idea who was behind trapping Jerome, and I couldn't stop reading as Georgina got closer and closer to the truth. Richelle Mead can tell a mystery as good as anyone. This book is definitely a page turner, even with all of the Seth, Maddie, Dante, and Georgina relationship drama. Roman is finally back, which is great, and the satanic cult introduced is fun as well. I would have liked to see more about Georgina's contract loophole that was mentioned in the previous novel, but I'm sure we will get to that eventually. If you enjoyed the other books in this series this one will not disappoint. More please!

Succubus Heat is the fourth volume in Richelle Mead's series featuring Seattle succubus, Georgina Kincaid. By now, the characters and milieu are well-established and readers will know them well: Georgina, passionate, impulsive, intelligent and deeply caring - not quite what one would expect from a shape-shifting, immortal temptress whose purpose is to devour the life-energy of mortals in order to advance the cause of Evil; Jerome, arch-demon of Seattle, who manifests in the mortal world in the form of John Cusack; Seth Mortensen, writer, honest man and the love of Georgina's life - despite the fact that he's currently dating one of her mortal friends; and Carter, the angel who associates with the denizens of Evil in the cause of Good.

All the familiar characters are back, although some play less of a role than previously, this time around. As the novel opens, Georgina, still heartbroken over her break-up with Seth, is sent by Jerome to Vancouver to help out the local arch-demon who's been having problems with a group of Satanists who, by attracting too much attention, are recruiting people to the cause of Good, instead of Evil. Shortly afterwards, however, Jerome vanishes, severing all of his minions' links with their infernal powers - his vampires can walk in the sun, his imps lose the ability to see mortal souls, and Georgina no longer absorbs life from anyone she becomes intimate with. Despite this meaning that a major obstacle to her getting close to Seth again has now been removed, it's up to Georgina to find Jerome, and unravel the mystery of his disappearance, before his superiors in Hell appoint a new arch-demon of Seattle and she and her friends find themselves with a new infernal master.

Georgina is a sympathetic heroine, and her witty voice makes Succubus Heat as engrossing a read as the previous three books. Mead's take on the forces of darkness as a great bureaucracy, with much of the work on Earth being done by `lesser immortals' - humans who have sold their souls for one reason or another - is both intriguing and amusing, if perhaps a little unbelievable, as none of the servants of Evil seem that, well, Evil. That aside, readers will, no doubt, find themselves glued to the text as Georgina and Seth's romance continues its rollercoaster ride, with both highs and lows, and much, much more, obviously, to come.

Okay so I love Rochelle Mead's Vamp Academy books and decided to try this series. I never did get into it. :( I really wanted to read more by her but this wasn't for me. If you like the really hot steamy books that are embarrassing to READ then you will love this book. I'm not saying its wrong to like that type of book...its just not for me. And I still think Rochelle Mead is a Fabulous writer! SO if you like explicit books and good writing...you'll love this!

Succubus Heat is the fourth book in the outstanding Georgina Kincaid series, an emotional roller-coaster of a series if there ever was one! In this new novel, we see the emotional fallout of breaking up with the love of her immortal life, aka best-selling author and t-shirt god Seth Mortensen. Georgina becomes an emotional shell of her old self, drinking, chain smoking, and dating uber dark soul Dante. One tryst with her therapist however, is what spurs her boss, Jerome, to exile her to another demon in Vancouver in hopes of getting her out of post-breakup funk. Of course, nothing is that simple with Georgina. Something has managed to summon, or "trap," Jerome, and until he is either released and reinstated to his former position as undead boss of Seattle, or another undead is appointed as ruler, Georgina and her sidekicks (Carter! Hugh! Cody! Peter!) find themselves bereft of their supernatural powers. Aaand this means no. life. sucking. abilities. Of course, Georgina being who she is, can't rest until she discovers a way to help save Jerome, even if it means her time to enjoy life without her abilities is cut short.

I must admit that this is my favorite book in the series. Mead's prose is always crisp and concise yet filled with so much meaning. The reader understands how empathetic and loving Georgina is, despite living for untold centuries. You would expect some jaded bitter pill, but Georgina's soul is too good for that. Even in the beginning of the book, when she's trying to numb herself from the pain of not being with Seth through booze and nicotine, it's not really who she is, and it shows. This series has fast become one of my favorites, surpassing Vampire Academy (but still a close second). The only downside is I don't know how much more my poor nerves can handle the ups and downs of her emotional life!! :) I still FERVENTLY hope that she ends up with Seth (please, please, PLEASE?!?!?), but who knows with the way the series is progressing. Still, for readers who have yet to read the series, this is one you'll cherish and re-read again and again.

"Succubus Heat" is the 4th entry into the Georgina Kincaid series, & you definitely need to read the first 3 before this one. Like the first 3 books, "Succubus Heat" was great, & I couldn't put it down. These books are a blend of love, humor, mystery, & the supernatural. I have really grown to love these characters.

There is some headway with Seth & Georgina's relationship & a few faint mentions of her contract with Hell. There is also mention of her dreams of having a daughter in the previous book. I don't want to spoil anything, but I can see some of these pieces coming together in "Succubus Heat."

The fourth installment of the Succubus series is a fun read. This series just keeps getting better and better! In this book one of my favorite characters comes back, the nephilim Roman. They form an unlikely alliance to save a friend. I loved the chemistry and the romance between them and I had hoped he would come back somehow able to forgive her for her betrayal. Great beach read, I recommend the entire series!

----SPOILERS----Like another reviewer stated, every book I read in the series quickly becomes my favorite, not only in this series but in the VA series as well. Mead has quickly climbed the ranks as one of my favorite authors, she mixes paranormal, romance, and real life together seamlessly. A must read. Some reviewers fail to realize a few key facts, which may be some reasons that they didn't enjoy the series. 1) When Seth slept with Maddie, he and Georgina had just broken up, so therefore it's not cheating. 2) Love is crazy, those who say it's not, must have never been in love. 3) Girls stick with each other. At least most do, if I were in Georgina's place, and my best friend was Maddie, I would want her to be happy even if it meant giving up the man I love (who realistically I can't be with anyways). 4) Carter was the one that Georgina thought was protecting her, not Seth. To me Roman was not sprung onto the reader, I realized he would show up from the moment the matchbook materialized. I personally I don't think he's a sociopath. He just a man (well kinda) that wants to live, and will fight for all means to get there. All in all this was a very satisfying read, it had all my favorite elements, and when I was finished reading I was content, not like with Succubus Dreams, I was in total emotional turmoil during my wait for Succubus Heat. Go Richelle!!! ----- on a side note, don't review books unless you know the facts-----

Georgina has some growing to do. Despite her age, her flaws and her wranglings with her unique situation make it hard for her to figure out how to relate to the human world - and when she does, she's just as likely to mess up as anything else.

I love this about her. It makes her more believable, and gives her character somewhere to go. Mead handles her growth skillfully, giving her room to develop as a character while she goes through her whacky mishaps. I love that things don't always come easily for Georgie, and that she still has some personal demons to sort out - as well as her employers.

Besides - a demon whose hobby is messing with Wikipedia? C'mon. Too fun.
