Best paleo cookbook (apart from Well Fed 1), and really great cookbook all around. My nonpaleo people enjoy the recipes as well. Great, robust flavors and wonderful use of easy to find spices and ingredients. Flexibility of recipes makes the book at least 3x more valuable. This and the original are my two favorite cookbooks to date. Well done!!

Well fed 1 and 2 are my absolute favorite cookbooks. They are not just cookbooks - but idea books with great time management skills. And ideas on how to change things around. Even if you are not Paleo, you can get ideas on how to become a great cook and not just someone who follows recipes. I love Melissa's books. She makes it easy to eat delicious, healthy meals! Thumbs up.

I am super impressed with this book... Not only does it include a few of the basic recipes from the first Well Fed, but it includes several more spice mixes, a no-sugar ketchup recipe, and more sauces. I love how all recipes include some kind of adaptation to get even more out of the meal ideas. This recipe book is packed full of useful info, and doesn't stray from the strict Paleo/Whole30 guidelines. I love it!

Well Fed is one of my favorite Paleo cookbooks so I was excited about a "sequel." The recipes are creative and are good enough to seve to guests! Which is a huge compliment. I love that they offer substitution ideas for many of the recipes and the witty nature in which it is written. Nothing in the book would remind you of "diet food." Everyone must order this book immediately!!

This cookbook is honestly the best Paleo book I have found. As a companion to Whole 30, it is invaluable. The recipes in here are just amazing. This book, plus the first one, helped me be extremely success on Whole 30 and makes Paleo a breeze. Melissa has helpful hints and amazing spices and sauces. Some recipes will leave you scratching you head, wondering how Paleo could be sooo good! Many of our non-Paleo friends love these recipes. This book is a must have for any cooking lover on Paleo!

My third favorite Paleo cookbook! The others are Well Fed (first edition) and Nom Nom Paleo. My favorite part of the cook book is the tips on what to eat with the featured entrée. Second favorite is the tips on preparing for the week and my third favorite is the use of so many wonderful spices and combinations thereof. I'm in love with this book!!!

Melissa Joulwan is the bomb.com. Buy this book and her first book. I do think the first Well Fed is better but both are great for anyone keeping a Paleo kitchen. I can definitely cook her food for non-paleo people and they seriously enjoy it.

Let's put the mind-blowing, creative genius recipes aside for a moment. The value of the cooking, food and kitchen tips alone is worth the price of the book. I have been reading this book from cover to cover, gleaming god knows how many useful cooking-foodie tips from it. Another book (of which there are few) that I am going to recommend as "must have's" to my loved ones.

The recipes? I have only made a couple (I just got this book two days ago....) but in true Well Fed fashion, lip smacking! I'm so happy to see healthy versions of old favorites, like Zingy Ginger Dressing: such a small victory (remember the dressing that used to come draped over that sad iceburg lettuce at the Asian restaurants? Recreated and in the book!). Simple and fresh recipes and the book itself is so pretty ;)

BRAVO MEL! My health and taste buds thank you.

UPDATE: Just made the fried plantains (I know, simple but overlooked recipe) and "perfect steak" (had a grass-fed steak in the freezer that I was waiting to use for the perfect recipe). It literally floors me how I used to think "complicated" means "the best!". These two recipes were so easy/fast and man were they GOOD!

Wow. I have never been so pleased with a cookbook or series of cookbooks. I have loved every single recipe that I have tried, and I have tried many. I cannot say that for any other cookbook that I own. Get this, and her other cookbooks. My 10 year old son agrees!

I love this cook book (and her original, Well Fed book). The recipes are simple, taste great and healthy. She also has great tips for saving time in the kitchen each week. My favorite cookbooks ever. My three teenagers, who are super picky and never like the same thing, love everything I've made from the Well Fed cookbooks - which is a total miracle.

I have cooked almost everything from Well Fed so I preordered Well Fed 2 with excitement. It is spectacular so far. The recipes are weeknight easy but interesting and flavorful. The section on various uses of ground meat (burgers, bangers, and balls) is worth the price alone. I think I like best the spice blends and homemade sauces in this book. This allows a lot of flexibility and experimentation with not a lot of cost or commitment.

This book rocks. Everything Melisssa Joulwan does rocks. Seriously. If you're considering the paleo lifestyle, you need to own this one, as well as the first one, Well Fed. Awesome easy meals and the sauces are the only reason I stay on track so easily. Love it!

I got hooked on the author's recipes after trying the cinnamon-infused Greek Beef Stew (blog). That has become a family favorite. I love the ingredients she uses, and I love that the food I am making is both delicious and nourishing. I also like that she doesn't rely on sugar substitutes (honey, maple sugar, agave, etc.).

I debated whether to get the Kindle version (cheaper), but ended up "splurging" and getting the hard copy. The hard copy also gives you a coupon code for the PDF version of her book ($1), so that I can also print her recipes.

For anyone even remotely interested in becoming really healthy, this book makes the journey fun and easy. Melissa's recipes are mouth-watering great, so that I never feel deprived of the foods I leave behind as I journey into any of the cuisines that she brings to us. She writes with a sense of humor that goes way beyond the recipes, as she shares pieces of herself with us in her life stories. It feels like I have a friend and support person on my side on this journey. That's invaluable. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to be healthy and eat great food while enjoying the process.

The first Well Fed is probably my favorite cook book ever! I was so excited to get this one too! So far I have only tried two of the recipes (sunrise scramble and salmon cakes) but both were the level of delicious I found in the recipes to be in the first book. I never made a recipe I didn't like in Well Fed, and I don't expect it will be any different for Well Fed 2.
Love, Love, Love.

Love this easy ethnic cookbook. Well seasoned dishes from many cultures. My go to cookbook at least twice a week. Great way to spice up a healthier way to cook and eat. Full of tips to make cooking easier and more fun. Beautiful pictures for every dish. Inspiring!

Right on trend and fantastic recipes. This woman is a food savant and gifted author. If you only have room for two paleo books on your shelf, don't look past Well Fed 1and 2.
Her recipes are accessible, inspiring and don't require a long list of hard to find ingredients.
She encourages you to think creatively in a fun way and demonstrates fantastic variety in her food. Seriously....buy this book.

My husbands doctor gave him the book It Starts with Food and told him this is his new life style because of his condition. This book made it fun and yummy to change our lifestyle which is always hard. Now we love the new way we eat and look forward to meals! M. Smith

Melissa - you rock! I love this book ever better than your first Well Fed. This has real recipes with great ideas. I like how you "go around the world" and apply Paleo there. You have quite a few recipes form my area in the world. Can't wait to cook more from it.

My family of four loves almost every recipe in both of her books. She has recipes that are quick and easy with little prep, and recipes that take time for when you want something a little more fancy. Plus its fun to read. She is sassy, and we like that. A fantastic value for healthy eating!

Bigger and chocked full of new stuff and Melissa's writing makes it fun.
Why does the store require 20 words to consider a review complete? How about a haiku?

Well Fed CookBook 2:
Even better than Well Fed.

Excellent recipes - clear practical instructions, available ingredients and delicious food. My only criticism would be that her prep time always seems to be way less then what it actually takes me to make the recipe. Either I'm really slow (my bf says not likely), or this lady is super woman on speed in the kitchen.

I loved the original Well Fed cookbook so much that I knew buying Well Fed 2 was a must! While still in development, Melissa shared the Old School Italian Meat Sauce (page 94) recipe, DELISH! The "Tastes Great With", "Tasty Ideas" and "You Know How You Could Do That?" suggestions listed are VERY helpful. Since my copy just arrived yesterday, I'm most looking forward to trying the Pina Colada Chicken (page 96), Thai Basil Beef (page 112), Plantain Nachos (page 146) and Sweet Potato Soup with Bacon (page 210). These and all the other recipes will make my next Whole30 a success!

We just started the Paleo lifestyle, and weren't too sure if we would like it. But two weeks in, using only recipies from this book (and the first version) we are feeling great, dropping weight, and LOVING the food.

The recipies are easy to follow, and give lots of options to substitue things here or there to change them up. After 2 weeks, we only found one recipie that was not loved by all (my wife didn't care for it, but I loved it). Even the kids are becoming more adventurous with dinner time now.

After buying, using & loving the first Well Fed, I couldn't wait to get the sequel. Worth the wait, very well done, everything I've made so far has been outstanding. Her variations reflect her "make it your own" philosophy, which is something I really appreciate, and the actual style of the book itself is beautiful & creative -- a pleasure to use.

Great stuff!!

Recipes are delicious. The author did me a huge favor by including beautiful pictures and suggested pairings (e.g., side dishes for entrees, entrees for side dishes) along with recipes for the "paired" items. Love this cookbook!!!

I have many paleo cookbooks. This one, along with the original Well Fed and Everyday Paleo, are on the weekly meal planning rotation permanently! Yhe flavors are always on point and recipes just don't fail. There's nothing more disappointing than slaving after work on a rather time intensive recipe only to end up with a lackluster bland result. Rest assured- that will NOT happen when cooking from WellFed2 (or 1!). Can't wait for another installment ;-)

Very interesting book only complaint I have is I bought it on my Kindle which makes it difficult to go back and forth between recipes. So far I have enjoyed all I have tried. I enjoyed her web page too.......and the video's

I consider this and the previous book, Well Fed, to be essential in my kitchen. When I started out on the Whole 30, I knew that I was going to HAVE to find a way to make this new way of eating tasty, and Melissa Joulwan became my new BFF. There are NO boring recipes in these two books.

This book is a bit heftier than the first--more pages and more recipes! This one also has some more instructions for basics that can make your meals so much better. For example, there is a spread on cauliflower rice, mashed cauliflower (yummy potato substitute), spaghetti squash and vegetable noodles. If you feel like no meal is complete without the more commonly used counterparts to these foods (rice, potatoes, or pasta), these are SO valuable!

There is also a whole section at the beginning that gets into basic cooking techniques. For most of us new to the paleo lifestyle, we are probably stretching out of our comfort zone in the kitchen, so this is also a very valuable resource.

One of my favorite sections is called "burgers, balls or bangers." It has instructions for cooking ground meat in these three shapes (bangers=hot dogs, in case you, like me, didn't know this term) and then a TON of variations on how to use different meats (beef, lamb, pork, chicken, turkey) and seasonings to make all kinds of different flavors.

Joulwan's mix and match, cook ahead, play-with-your-food style is just what I needed to make paleo cooking fun, do-able, and most important, delicious!
