Harmless (Pier 70 Book 4)

Harmless is Nicole Edwards’ latest masterpiece in the Pier 70 series. I became a fan with her Club Destiny series and haven’t never missed a book. But Harmless just about wrecked me emotionally. I am not sure how she is able to bring characters that are so broken and lost together to create such a beautiful family.

Harmless not only tells the story of two handsome alpha men who meet and are determined to keep their relationship in the one nightstand status but we find out why they must resist each other.

Roan Gregory has a life that he is trying to handle by himself. He has secrets that keep his friends at arm’s length. But when the bottom falls out from beneath him and life changes in an instant, he must decide if he is going to continue his life alone.

Colton Seguine has his own secret. He’s a professional hockey player and it’s his only priority in life. He will sacrifice his personal life to keep his career at the top. He’ll even date women to keep the press happy.

Roan & Seg need a distraction badly and one night stands are harmless, right?

The key to Harmless and Ms. Edwards’ books is that you don’t see male and female characters you see the heart and souls of people living life and looking for love.

I highly recommend the beautiful, emotion filled story of Harmless.

This whole Pier 70 series has been so incredible! Roan & Seg were simply amazing! I love them both so much and just adore them together. They are right up there with Hudson & Teague from Speechless for me now, although I do love all the Pier 70 men. It certainly was no walk in the park for them and they had some pretty steep hills to climb, but thank goodness for perseverance and friends right? There was just so much heart and soul in this story! The way the direction of Roan's life suddenly changes and how he finally opens up to all of his friends and then accepts the help they so freely offer. The way Seg hadn't ever realized exactly what he needed to be fulfilled and truly happy until he met Roan. Their story is absolutely heart warming.
I am sorry the Pier 70 series is done. I can say it has been a seriously hot, raw and emotional reading experience for me. I have been reading romance for years, and I would like to say thanks to Nicole Edwards and her beautiful writing for opening my eyes to just how enjoyable and fulfilling reading a love story between two men can be. And also how unbelievably hot and erotic things can be between them. She keeps it real though and shows the struggles gay couples have and that there are different and more obstacles to overcome to get to their HEA and the grace by which they do it.

This book is why I absolutely love Nicole Edwards' work. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars, that's just how phenomenal it is. She has taken two very dominant men and created passion, love, heart break and courage that they found, embraced and overcome together. Roan, always seemed the one to watch out for in the previous books. He is the quiet, thinker type. He was always there to lend a hand to any of his friends while never taken anything in return. He finally finds something or should I say someone good for him in Seg but he doesn't think that he deserves it. Seg, is a defensive lineman for the Austin Arrows Hockey team, well on his way to making a name for himself. The most important thing in Seg's life besides his mother is hockey and nothing else until he meets Roan. Sparks fly between these two instantly and there is no doubt the chemistry is off the charts but Roan has too much on his plate to get in a relationship with anyone much less someone still in the closet. Roan and Seg will have to decide if they want to take chance and the media attention this will bring on them or let it be a one night stand. I can't recommend this series enough. Is book totally knocked the series out off the water for me. This is by far my favorite couple and I don't say that lightly bc I think of all the boys as my favorite!!! Highly Recommended!! It all started as a no strings attached one night stand. Something neither Roan or Seg would ever forget. 14 months later they meet up again, and find out that the fire is still there.

Seg is one of Austin Arrows best players, and he keeps his real sexuality a secret to the public, and his teammates. He keeps up the facade that he is heterosexual by dating women. Roan is open and proud. He wants someone who is not hiding from the public, but the fire Seg and he have is not cooling down.

When a tragiic situatuation happens to Roan, and he now is the guardian of his baby nephew Liam, Roan tries to hide from Seg. Even though Cam, Gannon, and Millie help Roan out with Liam, he still is not ready to tell Seg his secret.

When an unforeseen circumstance exposes Seg for being gay, and Roan gets backlash from the publicity, it causes problems with their relationship. Seg then makes Roan know he is in for the long haul. Together they face these challenges as a team to be reckoned with!

This book is a wonderful ending to the Pier 70 series. I have enjoyed this whole series. Nicole Edwards has yet another winning series!

**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review of this book.** I am a big fan of Nicole Edwards’ books. I’ve read every series she has because she has a gift for character development, storytelling and writing erotica/romance (she gives me the ‘feels’). The Pier 70 Series is one of my favorites because the relationships are all M/M, a genre not a lot of authors can write as effortlessly as Nicole. You get to know her characters and you care about them. And, because she gifts us with a series, you get to know the major characters over the series so you’re rooting for each of the Pier 70 men as they get their hand at love.

Harmless is hands-down my FAVORITE in the Pier 70 Series. I’ve always had a soft spot for Roan and wanted him to find his HEA. I knew his character ran deep, but Nicole rips the doors open on Roan’s world and you’re hooked in the first chapter and the ride gets better as you progress in the book! Without giving away the juicy plot points, I was cheering for Roan and even more for Sig as they worked through their relationship throughout the book. The book covers topics that are very relevant to today’s issues. And, like the master storyteller that she is, Nicole manages to bring in the rest of the guys of Pier 70 so we can see how they’re progressing in their HEA’s as Roan and Sig find their very own HEA.

I highly recommend reading the entire Pier 70 Series. 5-stars!!

This book romance and its purest, love sacrifice and acceptance, oh and lets not forget loving yourself enough to let other show it to you.
The bond that is shared by the men of Pier one is not only of friendship, no they are a true family. A family that shares, happiness and pain. A family that is ready to not only celebrate but fight for one another and hold each other up.
So is loving someone harmless? No it changes everything.

Wow! The Pier #70 series is a wonderful read. This is book #4 and this story was as wonderful as the 1st book.

Roan comes off as a grumpy hurt & confused in Cam & Gannon's book. This one gave you so much more insight into him. He is sexy, sweet, selfless & stubborn. If you mix these with his cocky alpha partner you have one scorching couple.
There is a lot going on in this book so you are completely engaged and drawn in from the start. I don't want to get so in depth that you get spoilers, but this book has a lot going on. Previous book had Roan looking after his sister Cassie because of her drug addiction & she is a big part of this book. I was about 2 chapters in & bam was shocked with what was happening. Seg is a hot shot hockey player who finds his true self when he meets Roan.

What's is not to like about 2 brooding bad boys finding each other?!?

Another great book by Nicole Edwards. I absolutely love this series and honestly I didn't think it could get any better after Speechless. But, oh was I wrong! Harmless is everything! Everything!

We were dying for Roan's story and oh what a great story it is. Take a hot troubled guy, add a hockey player and a baby and you get perfection. Roan and Seg are perfect together. Their chemistry is off the charts and have me screaming for more. I can't get enough of these two, towards the end of the book I read extremely slow because I didn't want it to end.

I love m/m books and honestly not everyone can write a good one but the way Nicole does it is flawless. Yes they are hot but more then that she brings all the feels. She pulls at your heart and gives you the best characters and stories. I highly recommend Harmless and the rest of the books in the Pier 70 series. You won't be disappointed.

The final installment in an amazing series and Nicole Edwards did not disappoint.

Roan finally gets his turn after the events of book one. His life has its challenges in trying to care for his sister who is a drug addict and his baby nephew. The man who forces him out of a solitary life is Colton or Seg. But Seg, as a professional hockey player, is not openly gay. The stigma of being a professional athlete and gay is still powerful. As he struggles with his feelings for Roan, he know he has to make a decision about being open as to his sexuality. Roan has his own battles to face but he is not alone in facing them, if he lets Seg in.

This was a poignant and emotional read. I loved their journey together as I have loved all these couple's journeys. Simply awesome from a truly talented writer.

I received Harmless, book 4 of the Pier 70 series, as a free copy from the author/publisher. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion.

This final book is definitely my favorite of the series, although I highly recommend all Pier 70 books, detailing the love stories of the marina partners. Seg was the perfect partner for Roan. His caring, nurturing nature helped me fall in love with him from the very first. The plot is believable and layered, as both men struggle to build a relationship and learn to communicate--especially Roan, who seems to struggle with letting people get close to him. A wonderful story line, with a skillful balance of tension, conflict, sex, and playfulness. You'll be hooked from the first chapter, and have a hard time putting this one down.

This was everything!! From start to finish I was hooked and I couldn't stop...I mean. Thing was gonna stop me from finishing this freaking book.
Roan was this sweet and vulnerable man who you couldn't help but root for and the best part was Seg was just as sweet but screamed alpha...maybe it was picturing this sexy man on the ice...sigh... okay back to this. I loved how real it felt. You could totally understand Segs reasons and fears and even if you didn't agree with him you got it. And oh man Roan may have stole my heart for fave Nicole MC. And throw in sweet Liam in the mix and I was freaking mush! In the top 3 books from Nicole for sure. Seriously everyone needs to read this one

Harmless is the last book in the Pier 70 series. As with all of Nicole books, it was bittersweet and I am sad to see it end. I knew coming in that this book was going to deal with some serious issues because in the previous books, we knew that Roan was dealing with a few issues with his sister and it was going to play out in this book. We also receive background on Seg in the The Season series and knew that he had a secret. Roan and Seg chemistry was off the hook and we couldn’t ask for anything more. It was nice to get to see This is another 5 star for Nicole and I didn’t want it to end. I know we are going to get a story for Millie but these guys will always be my favorite.

Not really good at writing reviews, with that being said Nicole you did it again! Nicole knows how to write a story that pulls you in emotionally. Hot story, hot men, and hot, hot, HOT scenes! Sorry the series has ended, BUT am happy Roan got his story. Roan could be standoffish and closed off, but we finally get to understand why in this book. Seg is an professional athlete and had fears of his, but they both seemed to work through them and came together beautifully. She has a way of speaking of about things that really make you think.

Harmless is the fourth and final book in the Pier 70 series and it did not disappoint! Roan has been a constant character throughout the series and now we get to hear his story. He meets Colton Seguine and after an agreement of 'one-night only' they both try to deny the attraction they have for each other. But as circumstances would have it over a year later they meet again. This story is about Roan as he struggles with the complications of his life and Seg's struggles with the reality of what truly makes him happy. Read and enjoy as they find their happily ever after. This is an amazing series. Each book I fall deeper in love with the boys ..... Harmless... OMG blew me away.
Roan and Seg are just absolutely beautiful men, from head to toe, and all the way around. Sexy, handsome, strong, selfless and so much more.
Harmless is extremely well written and I for one, and sad to see this series end at 4. I could read it to 100 ...
All the couples in this series along with the friends they bring with them along the way, form a loving family that you cant help but love.

Take a very secretive Marina Owner and a super sexy hockey player with a secret of his own and you have a sexy, smoking hot story. Nicole Edwards has done it again. I am sad to see this series come to an end but it ended smoking. I absolutely love this series and all the Men of Pier 70. This story is about having a secret that could ruin you and hiding a secret from your best friends. Nicole has taken two subjects that people in the real world deal with often. Way to go Nicole on another great book!

I voluntarily read this ARC. It was amazing as are all of Nicole's books. Roan a owner at the marina has to many issues in his life, he will not hide who he is ever. Colton (Seg) has hidden his who.e life. Even his Ma has not heard the truth yet from him. They meet et the sparks fly one night - no strings.
Will they compromise? Can Roan finally accept help? Liam comes first in all Roans decisions.

Well, Roan is full of surprises! The Pier 70 series is one of my favorites but when you crossover a guy from the Austin Arrows...chills. Seg is the perfect hockey boy for Roan to get the "feels" for. What starts as harmless fun, ends up being something they don't want to quit. I just was thrown by everything going on in Roan's personal life. Who would have guessed he was keeping so much to himself? It's always the quiet ones.

Harmless...oh my goodness...this book was so much more than I expected. Not just a MM romance. Not just a love story. Granted I was totally enamored by Roan & Seg, the support level of Roan's group of friends & even Seg & some of his teammates, is what truly drew me in. It reminds me that family is not limited to the people that are related to you.
