Can't even say enough about this book. I got it as a freebie through Prime, but it has really opened my eyes & makes me want to learn more. What an amazingly told story, the things these people went through, & what they were able to survive just astounds me & makes me SO thankful for what I have.

This is one of the most moving books I have read. The author takes a tragic historical event and brings the reader into it through the touching stories of some of the people who lived to tell. I was brought to tears as I realized over and over the horror that these people were submitted to.

Prior to reading this book I knew little about the Holocaust. After reading, I've gained so much more knowledge regarding daily life for the unimaginable amount of people who lived it. I was brought to tears while reading. Being a mother I can't imagine going through all that these three women endured while carrying babies to term. I read this book in 3 days, I couldn't put it down. Unimaginable!

This is a powerful story, but one that has been told often. I think more interaction during the story, between survivors and those lost would have made it more intriguing. All the same, it's a worthwhile read.

Deeply moving, personalized the vague overwhelming statistics of the holocaust. I can't remember the last time a book brought me to tears.
A very powerful emotional and factual retelling of history.

This book was truly eye-opening as to the horrors of extermination camps. I never imagined any pregnant woman could have survived, along with her baby. To have survived the horrors & then go on to live a productive life is beyond remarkable. Wendy Holden deserves credit for her thorough research & attention to detail. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a high interest in WWII era novels & biographies.

We have been told about The Holocaust, and saw films in school. But to read about The Holocaust from the stories of survivors is an emotional journey that I felt that I had to take. As a Christian woman that advocates for the downtrodden, I will never forget this chapter of real horror, and I will never let anyone proclaim that this chapter in history did not occur. This book will stay with me forever, thank you for writing it.

I was born around the same time as the three babies but in a normal family setting and not in a war zone.
It is beyond belief that one human can inflict that kind of hell on another human yet it continues at some degree even today.
The reunions brought tears to my eyes.

It’s amazing what the human soul can withstand. This is a story about 3 amazing women and their resilience through one of the most awful atrocities in history. A sad, sad story but a very well written story of their courage! God Bless these women and their children!

Such a heart hurt story.. But it's a story all of us need to read and to heed. The horror started with one man proclaiming he was the all encompassing ruler. This man also controlled the press by calling it fake news and he shut down all newspapers and all radio stations except the ones he controlled or owned. Was a very scary time then and I can see a relating mirror image happening today. The freedom circle of this nation is becoming increasingly similar to those of yesteryear. Have we become indifferent to the suffering of the past because one mans'grandiose idea of being the king.
I found myself tearing up in several spots in the story of bravery, strength and faith.

Amazed to find such an accurate, yet surprisingly hopeful account of Jewish experience during WW11. While graphic and unsettling at times, I found myself racing through pages to learn the outcome for the three babies born during these tremendously difficult times. Loved Holden’s depth of research and the photographs she personally took that were included!

If you read only one book on the Holocaust, or even if you have read several, you should read "Born Survivors" by Wendy Holden. It is THE best book I have ever read regarding Holocaust survivors. Ms. Holden tells the story three incredible young women and their babies who are born and survive in impossible circumstances. The book is detailed, well researched and will help the world to never forget.

This was a beautifully written account of the holocaust as experienced by three young women who happened to get pregnant at just the right time during wwII to allow their babies to survive. It is heartening to know that the main characters survive and so makes the atrocities described in the book easy to stomach knowing that there is a mote of hope at the end. Read it! Their story needs to be told over and over.

The stories of these three women is spellbinding. They had to be so strong and brave. To think that some of the educators of today don't acknowledge the horrors these people went through is unbelievable. Wendy Holden did a magnificent job.

This author is incredibly detail oriented. I was completely engulfed in the story and felt as if I could "see" through the eyes of these young women. This book is VERY graphic, so I would suggest it may not be for the faint hearted (it may cause nightmares). Otherwise, it is a must read, I could not put it down. Such a fantastic achievement against all odds to deliver their babies and survive!

Never having had the opportunity to study about the Holocaust, I was shocked that one human being could treat another human being so inhumane, not only Hitler, but also his followers. I’ve read many books on the Holocaust, but Born Survivors gave more details of the Nazi horror than I had ever read. I was astounded by the determination and live shown by each of these young mothers.

A true account that I won't soon forget. Of course, I knew of the holocaust, but this made it real to me. A very graphic account that at times was hard to get through but it's well-worth reading to the end.

Three women, born survivors who grew-up in a loving family and fell prey to a Nazi world. Each giving life in unimaginable conditions. They were born survivors and instilled this gift in their children and our world.

A reminder to never take your life for granted and to never treat anyone as they are less the you! Always we remember we are all the same-human beings-and never ever let the world forget that this happened!

A great read that gave such great insight to exactly what horrific things the people went through in the camps in addition to the miracle of the survival of the three pregnant women and their babies is an amazing story to be told.

We must never forget the atrocities of the past, to prevent them from ever happening again. These three women and their bravery and will to survive under such cruel conditions is an inspiration to all.

This is such a rich and vivid story. It’s just amazing how the writer keeps you hooked with details where it’s hard to stop reading. I’m glad I was able to learn a lot more of the holocaust through actual stories of the survivors.

I've read a few other books based on the Holocaust and this one blew me away. The story telling was very detail oriented that included explanations, family history and even follow up of where are they now. I will read this again.

What an inspiring book! I have read many books about the Holocaust, but found this book to be very well researched and moving. It offered lots of details about the conditions at the concentration camps after Liberation. It was amazing that these three babies survived along with their mothers.
