The characters are realistic, relatable, and believable. I love the way the Walsh family is intricately woven into the story. Maybe Lauren is a touch whiney and hesitant for love, but not every person or love story is the same. Lauren becomes a vital part in almost everyone's life throughout the Walsh series. Kate's style of writing has me spoiled for other authors.

I absolutely LOVED Matthew. He was so amazing! Lauren wasn't my favorite heroine for most of the book I did end up liking her towards the end but Matthew was really the best thing about this book. This had a lot more steam than I was expecting and that's always a good thing. I can't wait to read the other books in this series!

This book was a recommendation from author Ella Fox so I bought it. It started slow for me that I skimmed first few chapters. It wasn't til they hooked up that I got into the storyline. Their connection took off from there and I was hooked. I loved their banter as it had me laughing out loud. I loved Matt. He was a strong man that knew what he found and he wasn't going to let it go. He owned his feelings right off and didn't pull the typical guy "cut and run" scenario. A 4 rating.
It Happened One Wedding (FBI/US Attorney Book 5) :: Sway (Landry Family Series Book 1) :: Falling for You (A Bradford Sisters Romance Book #2) :: Love Irresistibly (FBI/US Attorney Book 4) :: My Kind of You (A Trillium Bay Novel Book 1)

This was a wonderful, relaxing read to "escape" life for a bit. Architect Matt and Educator Lauren are perfect together, but it takes her a while to get used to the idea! There were a few small, isolated issues with editing, but not enough to detract much from the story. I do wish we had gotten to see Lauren's brothers meet their future brother-in-law, though!!

I really loved these characters...all of the Walshes snd Lauren.. Matthew and Lauren were try great together.. But I expected the reluctance to be different... so that was a different play in this story.

So much family drama...wow. I would be bitter too. But that didn't play a lot into the love part of the story, which was good.

I can't wait to read more about this family

The ending paragraphs had me crying my poor eyes out. Lauren is exactly what the broken Walsh siblings need in a time of crisis. The tension between the protagonists kept me engaged throughout. The sex scenes started out super smoky but tamed over time as seems typical in the genre. The naughty talk is spicy throughout.

Matt and Lauren. They are steamy on fire from the very beginning. Their intense connection makes for a story I did not want to put down or end. Kate Canterbury is a new favorite author not having read anything previously by her. I love how she creates characters that are real and believable. I am so glad there are more Walsh's to read because this is a family I want to be a part of for a long time to come.

Another author recommended I read Underneath It All, and I can’t thank her enough. I immediately fell in love with Matt, Lauren, the whole Walsh clan, and Kate’s writing style. It’s everything that makes up my perfect reading crack: feisty, independent heroines; hot alphas; witty, snarky dialogue; a fast-paced, well-written story; and lots of deliciously erotic sexy times.

I loved it, and am totally hooked.

This is a fun read for romance fans. The characters are pretty obsessed with their jobs before they fall in love and then struggle to keep their relationship going in spite of setbacks. Their complicated family lives and work create interest beyond the steamy scenes. A nice diversion.

This was my first book by Kate Canterbary, and boy did it get me hooked! I loved all the characters, and Matt and Lauren's story was amazing! If the first sentence in this book doesn't pull you in, then something is wrong! I knew as soon as I read that line that I would not only love this book, but anything this author writes!

This book containes gut wrenching passion, intens love, the perfect amount of push from the hero and pull from the heroine.

Bonus is the complicated relationship between the 6 Walsh siblings and their god aweful excuse for a dad.

This book kept me glued to my screen, rooting the hero on and shouting at the heroine, to get her act together.

Its book one in the series and if the remaining 5 keeps up the intensity we have a winning series on our hands.

I really enjoyed this story. It was different and had interesting characters. I really loved Matthew and Lauren, although I frequently wanted to smack Lauren for her wishy washy ways - maybe because as a reader I saw things she didnt. Anyway...I also enjoyed the whole Walsh clan, they were all very funny and each brought something different to the table. I look forward to continuing on with this series

This book held my attention from beginning to end. Took me a little while to get all the family members straight, but no big deal. Liked the family business setting of the main male character; and liked the main female character's her dedication to her career and struggling to "have it all". I'll definitely be reading other books by this author!

I completely fell in love with the Walshes when I read this book! Matt is (in my mind) the perfect alpha male, and Lauren is the quintessential driven career woman who learns that love finds you when you aren't even looking!
Every time I read Underneath It All I fall in love with them all over again, and can't wait to reread the entire series.

Matthew and Lauren have an explosive spark of electricity running between them. He's an architect and she's a woman looking for a building to turn into a school. Great story about love coming along when you least expect it and fighting it away because it's not right to want some thing so good.

I loved this book. Every raunchy, hilarious, crazy little word of it. Lauren and Matthew were amazingly dysfunctional in an honest way that could only be pulled off by a special sort of writer. The family dynamics were as amazing as the romance. Just awesome. And I won't even hold it against the author that she made me cry, dammit. Loved it!!

Wow...what a good book. Hot architect and a woman who want to open her own school. Lauren needs Matt to help her find the one place she knows will lead to her opening the school. The chemistry between these two is great.

Looking forward to the next book in the series....Patrick

It's official: Kate Canterbary is added to my list of favorite writers. This the first book of hers that I've read, and I just purchased the next five in the series. The characters are well drawn, the dialog is intelligent, and the plot was real. No gimmicks. I loved this book.

I loved everything about this book: the characters, the flow, the story.
Both Lauren and Matt are strong, intelligent and focused. Lauren is feisty and stubborn and struggles to admit her feelings for Matt. Matt is a "caveman", according to Lauren, but he knows who he wants and he pursues her. Both are new to being in a relationship due to their workaholic ways but they figure it out in the end.

I felt a connection with all the characters, not just Lauren and Matt, but their families as well, and I think that that is a testament to the great writing.
I can't wait to read the other books in this series to get to know the other Walsh siblings better.
5 stars for me.

Matthew is yummy. A sexy, sweet, tortured soul who's blindsided by Lauren and pursues her long past the point where a lot of men would have given up. I loved how his siblings interacted, how they dealt with their awful father. Loved Lauren for how puzzled she was by the whole falling-for-Matthew thing, how hard she fought against it, and how funny her talking about her father was.

Love this first book in the Walsh series. Author Kate Canterbury introduces her readers to this family and starts the breadcrumb trail. This is Lauren and Matt's story with lots of Walsh shenanigans included. This book will whet your appetite for more. It was a great book one. I couldn't put it down til I read the final page. ?

I loved this book. The characters are well developed and while I was expecting a happily ever after ending, the ride there was fun. How people decide to partner with each other has always interested and fascinated me so this story was perfect. The euphoria of new love, along with all the insecurities that come
with it was expertly written. Of course the hot sex was just fun.

For once it's the women having relationship issues. But please, don't let that comment stop you from reading this book. The Characters are great; well developed and relatable. The story is well plotted and the details are spot on. ENJOY!

This book started my love for the Walsh Family. I was hooked from the start. Kate's writing makes you want to be a part of the character's world. You experience the all the feels with these characters. I've read and and re-read all of Kate's books and anxiously wait for the next ones to arrive. I can't say enough good things about these books. If you enjoy steamy growly, alpha boys and the strong women that rock their worlds then you will love The Walsh Series by Kate Canterbary.

What a great story! The main characters speak like I do, the heroine (Laurel) isn't whiny and unfocused, the hero (Matthew) has got a great sense of humor. Initially I thought this was going to be like the Hart Family series, which I adore. But these characters came across as slightly more well-rounded and deeper.

I love finding these stories that you are not really sure about going in but come out pleasantly surprised. Matt was a sweetheart. Lauren was trying to be true to herself. I really loved their chemistry. Good personality building on the other family members. I'm sure their stories will be interesting also.

Reading this story almost felt like watching a plane crash! The plane would take off and then take a nosedive and then do a Loopy Loo and soar into the heavens. Exciting and exhilarating!! Can't wait to read more from this author.

What a deep stimulating story. Well written, and you can't help but fall head over heels with all the characters! I for one can not wait to see where the rest of this story goes. I hope Kate gives us the rest of the Walsh stories and the Navy Seal stories too. Yummmmm! Well done Kate, well done!

This was an interesting read. I like Matt Walsh, he was so good and kind to Lauren. She didn't deserve to have him. I got so fed up with her for being so cold toward him and for not answering his text or calls. I wanted him to just drop her and move on. I loved the Walsh brothers and look forward to the rest of the series.

This book was sexy, entertaining, and at times hilarious. I appreciated that Matt & Lauren are equally driven in their careers which provides a major, yet realistic, obstacle to overcome in their relationship. I'm a total sucker for family-based series and this one is off to a great start!

Great series. Warning - you will need to read all 4 books that are available so have time before you start. Smarty and witty characters with a unique family dynamic.

Matt is swoon-worthy but very intense. Lauren is reserved in her feelings.

The story was good and I liked the characters somewhat. I liked the setting in Boston and liked the plot that brought the H/h together.
The book was a 3.5 to me. Not sure I want to read the rest of the series.

This story held my attention throughout the day, even when I wasn't reading it. I really wanted to get back to it and see what happened. The family dynamics made it even better! I lived vicariously through Lauren and she had my nickname from her parents! Would definitely read the next one in the series!

I never ever write reviews but with this book you absolutely have too. It was phenomonal and emotional and real with characters that are normal and do things that we would in reality. They struggled and they overcame they lost and they won and you followed the rollercoaster. It was just beautiful

I definitely picked up on the chemistry between Matthew and Lauren, both of which were likable characters. I also enjoyed the introduction to the supporting characters and the Walsh siblings. I'll continue to read more books in this series.
