A peculiar and unique twist on the Apocalyptic Thriller. Mr. Mather draws on exotic theoretical science and weaves history, culture and skullduggery into a topnotch conspiracy story at the end of the world.

This was ok. I liked the Atopia Chronicles better which was why i read Sanctuary. I thought it would be similar. This was more human intrigue and drama. I missed alien technology or the discovery of something dead that gets awakened or sets in motion a chain of unintended events. That's just my preference, but all in all, not a bad read.

I began reading Nomad purely by chance, and wow, what an amazing and well written story! I was immediately swept away by his exciting saga and can't wait to dig into the third book. Mather is a phenomenal story teller, obviously well informed and has knack for suspense.

only reason i read this was because i read nomad. i didn't think nomad was great, but i was curious how the story would develop. the problem is that i feel no connection to the characters. and that pretty much kills the book for me.
the best part of the book was the scene where jess drowns. i thought that was a great ending. then i realized i still had almost half the book left. the rest of the book was mediocre. and i wanted to throw my reader across the room after reading, for the second time, that people need more calories in cold weather just to stay alive. ok. i got it; they're starving; stop repeating mr mather.
i suppose the positive point is that i did read it all the way through, and i would read a 3rd in the series if it ever exists. then again, i went through 6 books of the vampire diaries before i said f this it's not worth my time.

The Nomad series is the best! Sanctuary keeps the reader anxious for each page and does not disappoint! I am reminded of Heart of the Comet for another ripping good story! Fun and excellent science all in one!

Book two of the series addressed all of the questions I had after I reached the cliff-hanger ending of book one. I still wish it hadn't been necessary yet again to have the villain so obligingly explain it all before offing the heroine. Will the nasties never learn?

Wow! Great read. Good character development. Love, hate and indifference for some of them. I love the possible and true science connection. Nomad and its destruction was a character on it's own. Looking forward to seeing where the next two books take our survivors.

The End of the World continues.... Sanctuary amps up everything from Nomad and eliminates the over-the-top revenge melodrama that marred the otherwise excellent Nomad. The action is non-stop, the treachery is as treacherous as the shifting ice in the frozen Mediterranean, the surprises actually surprising and original. Two resourceful, clever and deadly women - Jessica and Masarra - make Jason Bourne look like a milquetoast because they simply will not give up as evil men and a crumbling, freezing world throw one killer punch after another at them. Mather makes them and almost all of the characters achingly human and real as they face - and fight - the end of civilization. Can't wait for more.
