Excellent addition to the series. The writing has only improved over time. I found the ending to be satisfying if a bit odd. I know the author is working on other books, but please return to this series as soon as possible. Theres a lot left, I cannot wait to find out what happens next.

So go fork it over and feel real lucky it is ready for ya.

All we are missing is a gold Sarcophagus. Or maybe that is what we will find when we get back to Dakistee the Third time. TDP I do not know how you do it but thanks for having a new kindle fire I was able to fo out and look at Coyotes all night long. I plugged it into the fire and then put on my Night vision googles and scope to plink at yotes for the evening. SUCH FUN !!!!!

I love all theses books. I bought the first book when there was 7 already and I wasn't able to stop reading until I finished them all. I bought this one just the other day and wasn't able to set it down even though it was 2am. This is a great addition to the series and I can't till the next addition to see what happens to the Carver sisters next.
Trader Vyx (A Galaxy Unknown Book 4) :: Naero's Run (A Spacer Clans Adventure Book 1) :: Against All Odds (A Galaxy Unknown Book 7) :: Lily of the Nile (Novel of Cleopatra's Daughter Book 1) :: The Clones of Mawcett (A Galaxy Unknown Book 3)

I really loved this series, but the 8th rendition of this series was so horrible that I put shut it down before I even got halfway through it. I can't really put my finger on it other than to say that it had a decided: Been there - done that, feel to it. The writer, as I see it, wrote as if he no longer cared about the series any longer, and was treating this volume as, just another payday.
Saying something has, "Jumped the shark", FYI, comes from the television series: Happy Days. On one of the (we discovered) soon to be last episodes, Fonzi was executing a motercycle stunt where he goes up a ramp and jumps his motercycle over a huge paper mache model of a shark. I forget the plot of that episode - which is kinda the point - the point being that, that episode was so horrible, it caused people to realize that the series: Happy Days, was through. It was OVER. DONE WITH. SEEYA!

The Dakistee franchise has finally,"JUMPED THE SHARK". And so I bid it adieu...Buh-bye now.

OK I'm hooked. Mr. DePrima is a great storyteller. These stories have a good story line, exciting from start to finish. But, nothing beyond reason if a plausible conclusion is ever reached from current theoretical hypothesis. The future could very well hold the potential for humans to go to the stars. Now having said this I want you to know how much I love the main characters in the book. The heroines, Jenetta and her sisters are as good as any I have read in a SiFi opera, including the Star Trek series. They are not super beings but just ordinary people with extraordinary abilities and great luck. Can't wait for number nine in the series. Carry on the good tales.

Return to Dakistee is a classic space opera. It is well written with characters that have a depth and fullness missing from many of today's books. Written in the style of C. S. Foresters Hornblower novels it is one of today's better series. In my opinion David Weber's Honor Harrington has a worthy competitor.
