A mystery with a woman struggling in a mans world, to make ends meet, and get over loss of family and the aftermath of war. A Chtidtian viewpoint thrown combined to make this a story I didn't put down until finished. Thank you for an enjoyable read.

This is a well written historical romance. Although it may be considered a Christian novel it wasn't preachy as some of them can be. It had a good plot and wellwritten characters. I am going to look into other books by this author.

This is a excellent book. It has mystery and romance . It is suited for all ages to read. I really enjoyed this book because it is sweet and teaches you to rely on The Lord through prayers and scripture.

What a wonderful way to tell the story of Christian charity and love.
The characters show what happens when we give without thought of getting. Most of all, it shows how listening to God, instead of ourselves, we find the answers.

I have found another author I enjoy reading because of the Christian references. Thanks for being able to bring us stories that do not have to be ladened with foul language and way too much sexual content..

I really enjoyed this story. The characters are believable, the story line is very realistic and I finished the book feeling like these were people I know rather than just a story. I enjoyed the innocence of the main character.

Loved this book it tells of how good somebody can be even when others are being mean an cruel to you,it also makes you remember the verse from the bible that says man looks on the outside but God looks on the heart,I loved the characters in the book!!!!

This was a well written book.

it peaked my interest when reading it, to the point I didn't want to stop reading.

I loved the way the author introduced each character and little insight as to the the whole ambiance of the era in which this story evolved around.

Ms Shorey writes a lovely story about trusting God, being good friends and doing the right thing. Her words paint pictures of historical happenings in ways that move you to the early days of a Godly nation.
