Megan Matthews kicks off The Boys of RDA series with a refreshing, sweet, and sexy story. In Rush, we are introduced to Aspen and Finn. Aspen is fresh out of graduate school embarking on the next stage of her life’s journey – new city, new job, new place to call home. Finn is a self-made gaming billionaire who is happy to stay at home to game and design new games. There is an immediate sweet and lustful connection between Aspen and Finn from the moment they meet. Aspen and Finn are fun characters with hang-ups of their own from past experiences. The continued interaction – mishaps, miscommunications, missed opportunities - between Aspen and Finn throughout Rush will make you laugh and root for their HEA. From beginning to end, Megan Matthews beautifully creates a storyline that is sweet, sexy, smart, and funny which is sure to set the feel and tone for The Boys of RDA series.

Rush is the first book in Megan Matthews’ The Boys of RDA series. Aspen Adams literally falls for Finnegan McRyan, her couch-surfing next door neighbour, he catches her when she falls, and their relationship goes from there… I have to say that I definitely fell for Finn too!

Aspen has moved to San Francisco, having finished college, to be closer to her only living relative, her brother Ben. She’s got a plan, and it doesn’t include any sort of romantic relationship for at least a year – she has other priorities (the sometimes boring necessities of life), but fate has other ideas: Enter Finn, a nerdy computer gaming geek who has ideas to blow her well laid plan to bits.

Finnegan McRyan is not your usual leading man of the romance genre, but he is most definitely loveable in the real man, real world characterisation of the author. He also has a secret, and looks can definitely be deceiving. Having romanced Aspen, will his secret completely blow his plan of romantic bliss with her out of the water? And what will happen when his manipulative ex shows up and “puts her boot in” too?

Told from Aspen’s POV, the plotline is easy to follow, and the author paints a picture of San Francisco that enhances the overall storyline by tying the plot and the characters to particular locales. A lovably addictive read, where you root for the lead characters, because you can see their vulnerabilities as well as their strengths, and they are completely human in their reactions to the situations they find themselves in. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Rush by Megan Matthews
Rush is the first book in The Gaming series. I must say that I was really hooked into the storyline very quickly. Aspen is new to the San Fran area. She is a strong willed girl who can be naïve at times (I feel because of her older brother). Finn is geeky but he is also sexy, very smart and works in the gaming industry. Aspen keeps running into Finn, they live in the same building and he helps her out more than once.
The attraction and chemistry between Aspen and Finn is there from the start. Aspen and Finn meshed so well together that you would get mad when certain events would happen because you really wanted these characters to be together. Finn was very hard to crack open about his secrets. But let’s face it we all have our secrets that we hate to share so he had very good reasons to keep his. This does give more insight to the way that Finn acts. But these secrets hurt Aspen and Finn’s relationship in the very beginning. Things get crossed in the wires, and things down spiral from there. We did get a good resolution to everything at the end of the book.
Not only did I love the main characters Aspen and Finn but the secondary characters were just as awesome. Aspen’s brother made me laugh and Finn’s friends/coworkers help make the story too! I hope there will be stories for these characters too! I also hope that we read more of Aspen and Finn too!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. If you are looking for an easy read that will make you laugh and smile I would pick this book up.

Rush is a well written funny, romantic love story. Finn and Aspen are neighbors. They develop a friendship that continues to grow as they get to know one another. I love the fact that Finn is a sweet, caring nerdy gamer guy. Finn has a past that causes him to be cautious of people's motives. When Aspen helps out her friend during a time of need, Finn makes the mistake of mishandling her. Ashen and Finn are faced with obstacles and lies by omission threaten to learn them apart. I don't want give away too much of the story. Although this is the first book I read by Megan Matthews, it certainly won't be the last!

Meagan Matthews has found a way to connect passion and desire in this book.

Aspen and Finn have a very interesting meeting and connection which takes them on a journey that no one could expect. Understand relationships and what goes on helps the reader to be open and giving to these great characters.
Watching the story line unfolds makes you realize that Rush can mean so many things and for me I felt each and every one of these definitions while devouring this book. Will this be my last from this author? Definitely no I want more of Rush and of Megan Matthews.

I really enjoyed this story. It was entertaining; I thoroughly enjoyed the story lines and characters. There were secrets with some hot scenes. Both main characters kept you hoping they could work out the issues between them and become a loving couple. The writing style was satisfying and the ending was perfect to make this a great romance story. I highly recommend it to other romance readers.

Aspen moved to San Francisco to a new job and to be close to her brother Ben and his family. Ben has raised Aspen since she was sixteen. Now that Aspen has her MBA; she is working in dog food sales. Aspen is lucky to a find a fabulous apartment and her neighbor Finn is funny and sweet. Finn creates video games for an up and coming Design Company. Every time Aspen needs help Finn comes to her rescue. Things between Finn and Aspen are starting to heat up, on their first date they go on a tour of chocolate factory, Aspen loves chocolate. Then Aspen goes to help a friend and ends up drunk and Finn thinks she is a party girl. He ends up dumping Aspen, because she was showing signs of being like his old girlfriend. It is up to you to read this book to find out exactly what happens at the end!

Aspen is transitioning to the next phase of her life.

She’s got a new job, a new apartment – not to mention her next door neighbor currently residing in the penthouse apartment …

From the moment they meet they have this instant connection, Finn is sweet and sexy, he knows just what to say, how to make her beg for his touch – BUT is he too good to be true?

What secrets is he keeping from her?

Will someone from his past be successful in keeping them apart?

OR will the betrayal of his omissions alone tear them apart??!

A fun, sweet read with a touch of mystery and enigma. Who can resist? Go on and buy it !!

Loved this! If you're into the lovable guy characters who's sex appeal comes out layer after adorable layer, then this is a great choice! Loved the plot, loved the chemistry and the characters interactions. Didn't want it to end. Hoping the rest of the series is equally good and these two make an appearance in the other books; would love to follow their story further. Read it!

Loved Aspen and Finn. Such a fun and addictive read with great characters. Story is told from her POV(till the epilogue). I personally love dual POV, but completely understand why it was written from her POV. Aspen is a sassy, but career focused girl not looking for a distraction. Finn, her knight, a super sweet smart guy who comes to her rescue, though I wouldn't really call her damsel in distress type. Ugh, Aspen, I wanted to smack her for her total "freakout", but I get how emotions run wild when love is on the table. Also, smack Finn for the choices he made. There is some steaminess, drama and HEA. My favorite part was when they were watching the game, read to find out. Great supporting characters who I hope get their HEA, love this series.

This is a sweet love story. Aspen graduates from college and moves to San Francisco to be near her brother. She is not overly impressed with her job. She meets Finn as he is her neighbor. They are both attracted to each other and between his ex wanting his money and Aspen feeling he lied to her will their relationship grow or will it crash and burn.
I loved this book and will definitely be reading more books written by Megan Matthews.

This story follows Aspen Adams. Ready to start the next chapter in her life, she’s moved to San Francisco, has a new apartment, a new job and friends and family to keep her occupied. She plans to keep her head down, keep herself to herself follow her 5-year plan and don’t break any of the ridiculous rules that come with her lease agreement. But already going against her own rules she can’t understand why her heart skips a beat every time she sees her hot neighbour.

Finnegan McRyan has tousled hair and sexy glasses. He is handsome, funny and always their when Aspen needs him, but even though he comes across as the perfect man there is something about him that has got to be too good to be true.

Can she count on him when it really matters or is Finn using his image to hide the real truth?

This is the first book I have read by Megan Matthews, and this won’t be the last. She captivates the reader from the first page, I love the characters she has created in this book. The only thing I’m disappointed about is the fact this isn’t dual POV, I would have loved to know what Finn was thinking through various points throughout this book, but still with that being said, I really enjoyed reading this book and is defiantly a great start to what I think will be an engaging series.

The story line was sort of unique in its own little way. You didn’t get lost within the story and can easy follow it from start to finish. Some points in this book were the author described San Francisco in my mind I could visually imagine this places and I love when an author can describe a place and mentally take you there.

Aspen is a strong female character. Slightly clumsy and a true best friend. Having faced a lot when she was younger and having only her brother left, she is determined to live life her own way. Until Finn comes into her life and she wouldn’t change a thing.

Finn isn’t one of the typical main male characters that you see in most romance books. He is geeky/nerdy and… I absolutely love it. He is sweet, kind and caring and knows what he wants with Aspen and isn’t afraid to let her know, throughout the book you do get a feeling that he is too good to be true but you never expect the secret he is hiding.

Both of these characters both show vulnerable sides and they bring them out of each other, but along with this these two just click. Together these two characters have an undeniable connection from the get go, they bring out the best in each other and just get on so well, they are defiantly couple goals!

Along with these two awesome characters there were a lot of secondary characters in this story that defiantly made an impact and I would love to read further into them characters as well as our two main characters and where their stories go after the end of this book.

This book is a refreshing, flirty, and fun read, that you can either read as a stand-alone or as part of the series that you cannot put down. I cannot wait to read more books in this series or any other books that come from Megan Matthews.

Absolutely loved this book.
The deal was sex with no connection or emotions, all Beth wanted was pure raw pleasure. Beth was so sure she didn’t want love because of previous bad relationships and nothing was going to change her mind. Because of how she was feeling if the deal was broken they would walk away from each other ending the relationship. Going back to when she first met Adam Beth assumed he was married with kids, now she was quite pleased at how wrong she was.
Beth arrives at Adams office where he took the moment to show her he could have her where ever and whenever he wants, not that Beth had any complaints. She enjoyed each time Adam took her. Leaving the office Beth turned back to Adam for her panties which he was holding in his hand. He told her she would get them back tonight and that a car would be picking her up at 7pm. Of course being the independent person she was she informed Adam she could drive herself but lost that battle. When the car arrived she was disappointed that Adam was not in the car. However, he was ready and waiting for her to arrive at his home. On arrival he took her wrap and bag off her placing them on the table, running his finger up the sides of her breasts making her quiver not to mention what it was doing to her girlie parts.
Beth’s friend from school Lizzy was going through a divorce. Her ex-husband’s lawyer was known as a pit bull in court and normally got hat he strived for. Beth accompanied Lizzy to court and Adam sensed she was there and turned around. Beth was not happy that he was Alec’s lawyer.
As he turned the electricity sparks could be felt by all parties. After the hearing Deidre Lizzy’s lawyer was quite snarly with Beth and was demanding she end her relationship with Adam, wisely Beth refused.
Back in Adams apartment he broke the deal by telling Beth he loved her, she was angry that he had done this and reminded him they would go their separate ways if either of them broke the deal. Lizzy was quite adamant that Beth was not going to wreck this relationship because of past experiences and eventually got Beth to see how wrong it would be. So making the decision to go see him she received a phone from her mother letting her know her father had, had a heart attack. Without even thinking about it she headed straight for Adams office for his care and emotional support. As soon as Adam found out how ill Mr Drake was he immediately made travel arrangements to get himself and Beth to Denver. Even a hospital cannot stop Adam and Beth from touching each other. He took her in the elevator which when they got out was told there was cameras, Adam didn’t care. He also took her in the men’s toilet at the hospital. Both of them has what the needs, Adam knows this but Beth is refusing to see it for herself. When Mr Drake was released from hospital Beth and Adam moved into her parents’ home to help her mother care for her father. During this time when Adam was alone with each of her parents he asked for her hand in marriage, both parents were quite taken with Adam and wasn’t going to say no. Now all he had to was to convince Beth. But could he?

Have you ever been so upset that your done having children, because you finally found a name in a novel you want to change your children after? No! Me neither, okay, okay, yup I totally got baby fever reading this novel and not only do I have one but I have two names that need babies. Aspen and Finnegan! If we were to ever have a boy he was going to be Phineas but I'm totally digging Finnega, and Aspen is just so different. I love that the characters names in this book are pretty unique to the genre where there are so many names used again and again. For my youngest we were hoping to name her after a character in a book to pay tribute to my love of reading but we never found one that we loved, if only I had read this a year and a half ago.
To say I loved Rush by Megan Matthews is an understatement. This book was fun and a quick read. I was drawn in immediately, and Matthews kept me entertained from start to finish. It was a great distraction while sitting inn the car at gymnastics and football and then being home on a cold rainy Saturday night.
I immediately loved Aspen and Finn. Aspen was very relatable and fun. I loved the relationship between Aspen and her brother it reminds me a lot like my relationship with my own brother especially their game day ritual.
I loved how throughout the book Finn is learning "the rules"this is where I could relate with Finn because I myself was so curious to learn about these rules. I was also intrigued to see if Aspen could stick to her 5 year plan, because my plan would have been out the window.
I keep on saying this book was so much fun and I really mean it, my husband made fun of me numerous times for literally being giddy while reading, I'm actually a bit giddy right now as I wrote this review.
If your looking for a fun yet sexy read this is the book for you! I'm giving Rush by Megan Matthews 5 out of 5 stars....oh and the best part is only book 1 of a 3 book Series, so if you don't get enough of Matthews work there is more to read.

I really enjoyed this book finding it very easy to read and hard to put down.

Aspen's parents died when she was very young so her and her older brother Ben moved in with grandma. Since grandma passed away Ben has been taking care of Aspen as best he could. Now that she has graduated college, he has her move to San Francisco to be closer to him and his very pregnant wife Rebecca.

Aspen's second day at work was horrible...one for the books. She woke up late, had to skip a shower, a jammed copy
machine, spilled coffee, forgotten lunch and then when she leaves work, within steps a few drops of rain shortly soak her. As if all of that wasn't bad enough, her foot slips off the curb into a small puddle and she ends up falling, scraping her palms and hitting one of her knees. Someone lifts her up and she automatically thinks about how hot he is..

The man who helped her happens to be living in the penthouse on the top floor of her building. Turns out, Aspen is living in the Mother-in-Law suite Attached to the penthouse. Aspen quickly learns her new neighbor Finn will become one of her closest friends. They spend a lot of time together over the next few weeks. Finn is actually staying in the penthouse his friend owns until his condo is ready.

Aspen and Finn end up dating and really falling for eachother pretty quickly. However, there are some lies / secrets that cause a rough breakup for them.
They are both miserable however Aspen stays away and stays with her brother hoping not to see Finn. He sends gifts to her job every day for almost a week. Aspen gives most of the gifts away. Finally she ends up seeing Finn when she thinks he has left the penthouse and moved into his condo. Will she let him explain why he hasn't told her the truth from the very beginning or will she just move on and forget about him.

This book was cute and had some great scenes in it.

Rush
Megan Matthews
☆☆☆☆☆
Rush is the first book of The Boys of RDA series.
Wow just wow. Such a great story of two very different people. Working their way through San Francisco and discovering each other, as well as romance.

Aspen, lost her parents at the age of 6. Raised by her grandma and brother. Doing quite well for herself, done with college. Working and getting things done on her own. Wants a year of not dating to just be serious about work. Get her foot in the door.

Finn, oh my Finn likes to work from home. Likes to play and create video games. Works hard for a company that allows him to just play. Just out of a bad relationship with a gold digger. Focused in his work. Finn has many secrets, that could hurt him, or could save him.

Rush: A form of game play that relies on speed and surprise warfare to win.

This story gets my heart. So many feels as you read. Finn is such the romantic, kind hearted and has a strong family support. He meets Aspen and falls head over heels for her. But of course all things are not that easy. Megan Matthews really did her research when she wrote this story. I felt as though I was actually walking with the characters, on the streets of San Francisco. Her description of where they were, placed you amongst them. I am excited to see where she takes us next. Her story has plenty of ups and downs. But as always communication is as important as listening, and trusting each other.

Rush – The Boys of RDA – Book One by Megan Matthews

This is the first book of Megan’s that I’ve read and I really enjoyed it. From page 1 I was hooked. As a matter of fact, I was hooked on the page BEFORE page 1 which is: Rush: A form of gameplay that relies on speed and surprise warfare to win.

This is the story of Aspen Adams and Finnegan McRyan (loved the names), how they meet, how their relationship develops, their friends, their jobs, their everything.

We learn that Aspen has recently moved to San Francisco to be closer to her brother and sister-in-law. She is slightly klutzy and rents a “mother-in-law” apt in a building because it’s cheap enough for her to live in even though it comes with some crazy crazy rules. “Rule 1: No pets of any kind – even those in tanks, bowls or cages” another is “…not allowed to have more than two people over at any given time”.

Finnegan McRyan is a black rimmed glasses, long sleeve thermal wearing, work from home some days, video game playing, smoking hot nerd who happens to be her couch surfing temporary neighbor. They meet by happenstance one day when she trips off a sidewalk in the rain. The rest is what romance novels are written about (good thing too, because this happens to be one of those novels).

I enjoyed this story from beginning to end and really look forward to future installments of The Boys of RDA. I hope each character (including the driver Jake) get their own stories in this series. I will be one clicking future books for sure.

Rush ( The boys of RDA #1) by Megan Matthews Rated 5 stars

Aspen Adams is starting her new job in a new town. Her apartment isn't everything she dreamed of but it will work until she can get something better. She has this landlord who had a crazy list of rules she had to agree to before she could move in. One day she has a near accident and this handsome guy saves her. Turns out he is crashing in her neighbors apartment. His name is Finnegan McRyan. Finn sees this beautiful girl and he wants to get to know her better. He stops by Aspens place one evening with pizza to watch a game. There is a strange man there who does a lot of posturing so Finn is thinking they are an item. After a few grueling hours the man decides to leave and also tells Finn to take care of his SISTER. Finn was so relieved. Things are going great until Aspen goes to help a friend and Finn's past starts rearing its ugly head. For two people who are just getting to know each other can they overcome this issue to move forward?

I enjoyed Aspen and Finn's relationship. There were many, many cool moments in this book. One is where Finn is explaining what rush means to Aspen. He says “ we’ll use speed and surprise to race in and conquer anything before they realize we are there. Kind of like what I am doing with you.” He taps her chest near her heart saying “ you won't even know I’m in before it too late”. How amazing is that!

Rush by Megan Matthews is the first book in The Boys of RDA Series: Book 1. Rush takes
place in the scenic city of San Francisco. Aspen Adams, a college graduate moves to San
Francisco to begin her career in advertising. Aspen is having a bad day when she falls off a
curb and Finn McRyan comes to her rescue. He is sexy and very handsome and you could tell
that Aspen and Finn have an instant attraction. Aspen and Finn both have strong personalities
and Ms. Matthews does a wonderful job describing the character traits, and this makes the
reader understand and want to fight for Aspen and Finn to work out. Aspen deserves the
happiness that Finn wants to give her, but as the reader you hope the secrets that may come
out do not destroy their relationship. Rush is a book that you do not want to end. Megan
Matthews does a delightful job describing the characters and really letting her readers get to
know Aspen and Finn. This is the first book in the series and I am looking forward to reading
more and seeing how the characters develop.

I love Aspen and Finn! They are both extremely likeable people, that I'd enjoy knowing IRL. They both have a strong group of family and friends who make me smile with their love and loyalty. This is my first book by this author, but I will be reading more! Disclosure: I received this book free and reviewed it voluntarily.
